Undead components are rare materials used in the Invention skill. Level 54 Invention is required to discover them at an Inventor's workbench and use them in a gizmo; however, this level is not required to obtain them.

Both barrows equipment and the sunspear are not guaranteed to give undead components upon disassembly. However, malevolent gear and the tier 90 shields are.

The chance of getting an undead components from a piece of barrows equipment is very low and should not be expected.

The Corruption sigil has a higher drop rate than other barrows equipment and is untradeable, making it a decent source of free undead components if you carry a dragon defender or better when looting the barrows chest.
