Uncut red topaz detail.png

An uncut red topaz is a type of semi-precious gem that can be mined from common gem rocks, as a possible reward from the Gnome Restaurant minigame, or as a reward from a fire spirit. Opening sedimentary and igneous geodes can also yield uncut red topaz.

Red topaz can be cut with a chisel by a player with level 16 Crafting, although there is a high chance that the player will accidentally crush it. Successfully cutting a red topaz grants the player 25 Crafting experience, but if they crush the gem they will receive only 6.3 Crafting experience.

Red topaz can be cut into red topaz bolt tips for use in creating red topaz bolts.

Red topaz may be crafted into topaz jewellery, which can be enchanted to imbue the items with special abilities.

Cut red topaz may be sold to Gabooty's Tai Bwo Wannai Cooperative for 120 trading sticks, uncut may be sold for 24.

The gem is also used to create a red topaz machete, which fulfils a medium Karamja achievement: That's Not a Knife....
