Speaking to Violet[edit | edit source]

  • Player: Hey! You're a little young to be wandering around here on your own, aren't you? There are big wolves roaming.
  • Violet: Rar.
  • Player: Ahhhhhh, you're a scary one! Now come on, where are your parents? It's not safe to be here alone.
  • Screen shakes side to side.
  • Violet: ROARRRRRRRRRRRR!
  • Quest interface opens.
    • Not right now
      • Player: Actually, she looks like she can handle herself.
      • Violet: Rar.
    • Accept quest
      • Violet vanishes.
      • Player: Oh no, she ran straight into the portal. A little child could die out there, I need to save her.

Chasing after Violet[edit | edit source]

Snow in your face[edit | edit source]

  • As you emerge from the portal on the other side, a snowball hits you in the face.
  • A snowball flies out of nowhere and knocks you over.

  • Violet: Come up here and face me!

Snowballs dodged[edit | edit source]

  • Violet: Hahaha that was SO MUCH FUN!
  • Player: Ha, sure it was.
  • Violet: Snow in your face! Hehehehe.
  • Player: You're really finding this amusing aren't you?
  • Violet: Hehehehe.
  • ???: ROARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR
  • Violet: Oh no! Gotta go!
  • Player: What? Did you not just hear that roar! That could be a giant monster? Or... A big abominable snowman. Or a giant terrifying tree monster that uses vines to ensnare it's prey...[sic] ...or big demons that look like mummies but actually have claws longer than their limbs! I should probably do the right thing and make sure that the monster doesn't eat her...
  • Violet: Byeeeeeeee
  • Screen fades to black.
  • Player: ...there could be wolves out here...[sic] ...or big bears...
  • Screen fades to you walking towards the front of a cabin.
  • Player: ...or a cute little cabin in the middle of the woods?

Cabin in the woods[edit | edit source]

Opening the gate[edit | edit source]

  • Would you like to return to Gielinor?
    • No
      • Player: I think I'll take a look around some more.
    • Yes, return to Gielinor
      • You are teleported outside the portal at White Wolf Mountain.

Interacting with the well[edit | edit source]

Investigating the well[edit | edit source]

  • Player: Well well well, what do we have here.[sic] I'm sure I heard someone shouting from down there. Timmy? Hmmm, must just be the wind.

Using coins on the well[edit | edit source]

  • You toss a single coin into the well.
  • 2,147,483,648 coins magically appear in your hands!
  • But the coins overflow and fall back down into the well.

Eating the yellow snow[edit | edit source]

  • After eating some yellow snow, you vomit out some greenish-yellow liquid.
  • Player: Yellow snow... Tastes like lemon.

Knocking on the door[edit | edit source]

  • Player: Knock knock. Hmmm... Rather than just saying it out loud maybe I should just knock.
  • Select an Option:
    • Knock again.
      • ???: Who's there!
      • Player: Player.
      • You hear a large amount of shuffling before a reply.
      • ???: What do you want?
      • Select an Option:
        • To go on an adventure.
          • Player: To go on an adventure.
          • Betty: Stop teasing the visitor and invite them in! Come in deary, out of the cold.
          • Screen fades out, and back in, with you now inside the cabin.
        • I want to build a snowman!
          • Player: I want to build a snowman!
          • Betty: Stop teasing the visitor and invite them in! Come in deary, out of the cold.
          • Screen fades out, and back in, with you now inside the cabin.
        • Trick or treat.
          • Player: Trick or treat!
          • Betty: Stop teasing the visitor and invite them in! Come in deary, out of the cold.
          • Screen fades out, and back in, with you now inside the cabin.
    • Do you want to build a snowman?
      • ???: Go away!
      • Player: Okay... bye...
        • (Dialogue ends)
    • Break the door down.
      • Player: On second thought, kicking down some poor soul's door in the middle of this cold and vast frozen wasteland may not be the nicest thing to do.
      • ???: Who's there!
      • Player: Player.
      • You hear a large amount of shuffling before a reply.
      • ???: What do you want?

Speaking to Betty and Trevor[edit | edit source]

First time[edit | edit source]

  • Player: Thank you, it was rather chilly out there. I just wanted to check that gir...
  • Betty: Would you like some stew? We've only just added fresh ingredients.
  • Player: No! YOU ATE HER! YOU MONSTERS! PREPARE TO DIE!
  • Scene pans to Violet exiting from a room behind Betty.
  • Violet: Mum! I saw a hairless yeti out in the wild!
  • Violet: Look! There he/she is!
  • Player: Oh! You live here?
  • Violet: Tehehe! You lost the snowball fight!
  • Trevor: Are you causing trouble? Did you go beyond the gate?
  • Violet: No! I just wanted to see more! I want to see mountains again! Mountains!
  • Trevor: But you know better than to run off without us with you! What have we told you?
  • Violet: Not to go beyond the gates of the house. I'm soooorry.
  • Betty: Thank you for bringing her home to us.
  • Violet: I just want to go to the festival. It's the first time I can go this year and all other yeti are going except us!
  • Betty: Oh Violet, my girl, we can't make the journey. It's too far and it's too dangerous. There is always next year when you're a bit more grown up.
  • Violet: But that is what you aaaalways say.
  • Player: Perhaps I'd be able to help out?
  • Violet: Ooo ooo, PLEASE!
  • Trevor: Would you give us a minute or two to talk with this adventurer here?
  • Violet: I'll go to my room, see you later.
  • Trevor: Don't call me later, call me Dad.
    • YOU'VE CAPTURED A HUMAN GIRL!
      • Player: YOU'VE CAPTURED A HUMAN GIRL!
      • Trevor/Betty: Calm down, we haven't captured her at all.
      • Player: But you've got a little girl? Where are her parents?
      • Trevor/Betty: Violet is an orphan. We found her on our doorstep in a basket wrapped up in a blanket.
      • Player: Hmmm, a likely story for kidnappers!
      • Trevor/Betty: We've raised her. Held her hand through her first steps. Kissed her knees when she fell over and we've fought away the monsters that hide under her bed. We know she isn't like normal yeti children, which is why we're afraid of taking her to the festival. I worry that she won't be accepted. The longer we leave it, I worry the worse she is going to get. She already runs off beyond the gates and we're too old to keep her from doing so now. It is only a matter of time. We want to give her the most magical childhood before she grows up but have never been able to. We're worried about it. What if she's picked on or made fun of.[sic]
      • Player: What is this journey and festival like?
      • Trevor/Betty: There is a village nearby, just over the mountain pass, where all yeti gather to celebrate. It's somewhat a rite of passage for all yeti kind. But Violet isn't a yeti. I worry she won't be accepted by the others. We've always wanted to take her to the festival.
      • Player: Would you be willing to accept my help?
      • Trevor/Betty: The question is more for you, are you willing to help Violet have a magical adventure?
        • Yes!
          • Player: Yes, I'd love to help you.
          • Trevor/Betty: Thank you. You should probably tell her the good news.
            • (Dialogue ends.)
        • On second thoughts...
          • Player: On second thoughts, I've got other things I could be doing.
          • Trevor: If you change your mind in the future, we'll be right here, won't we deary?
          • Betty: We will indeed. Thanks for the kind offer, [Player].
            • (Dialogue ends.)
    • You're a yeti?
      • Player: You're a yeti?
      • Trevor: Brilliant observation. You must be a furless yeti.
      • Player: No I'm human!
      • Trevor: It was sarcasm, we know what humans are!
      • Betty: Humans, you say? They are tasty, that's what they are! GET 'EM IN THE COOKING POT!
      • Player: ...
      • Betty: We can also do humour! The look on your face though!
        • (Shows previous options.)
    • What is this festival?
      • Player: What is this festival?
      • Trevor/Betty: It's a festival where all yetis gather together to celebrate.
      • Player: To celebrate what?
      • Trevor/Betty: Nothing, just to celebrate.
      • Player: But you must be celebrating something?
      • Trevor/Betty: No, but you can take my word for it - it's the most magical thing a yeti can experience.
      • Player: Right, I'll believe you.[sic]
        • (Shows previous options.)

Before agreeing to help[edit | edit source]

  • YOU'VE CAPTURED A HUMAN GIRL!
    • (Same as above)
  • You're a yeti?
    • (Same as above)
  • What is this festival?
    • (Same as above)

After agreeing to help and before telling Violet[edit | edit source]

  • Trevor/Betty: Have you told Violet we're going to the festival?
  • Player: Not yet.
  • Trevor/Betty: What are you waiting for?
    • Nothing, I'll go do it now.
      • Player: Nothing, I'll go do it now.
    • I'M JUST SO EXCITED MYSELF.
      • Player: I'M JUST SO EXCITED MYSELF. When we get there, I'm having two snowcones. No... THREE snowcones.
      • Trevor/Betty: Well, please don't forget to make the adventure as magical for Violet as for yourself.
    • Why don't you tell her?
      • Trevor/Betty: You're the kind adventurer who is willing to help us. It should be you.

Exiting the door[edit | edit source]

  • Would you like to exit the quest?
    • Continue quest.
      • You remain where you are.
    • Exit quest.
      • Screen fades out; you are teleported outside the portal at White Wolf Mountain.

Attempting to search Violet's toybox[edit | edit source]

  • Player: My Thieving level is not high enough to steal from children.

Attempting to look under Violet's bed[edit | edit source]

  • Player: On second thought, there could be something far worse than a yeti hiding under there.

Attempting to search Violet's wardrobe[edit | edit source]

  • Player: I wonder if this would take me back to Gielinor only to find almost no time has passed at all.

Speaking to Violet[edit | edit source]

Before speaking to Trevor and Betty[edit | edit source]

  • Violet: Mum and Dad want to talk to you...
  • Player: Turn that frown upside down!

After speaking to Trevor and Betty[edit | edit source]

  • Player: Violet?
  • Violet: They're never going to let me go. I'm a brave adventurer like you! I can make the journey. I'm running away, I'm going to run away to yeti town and live there! No parents! No rules! I can eat whatever I want!
  • Player: I've got some news for you.
  • Violet: Pickled pink pancakes for dinner?!
  • Player: No. We've agreed that we can go t... Wait, what are pickled pink pancakes?
  • Violet: Only the tasiest, bestest, mostest dinner in the whole wide world![sic]
  • Player: Ah okay! We'll have to try some when we go to... We're going to the yeti festival!
  • Violet: But Mum and Dad won't let me go.
  • Player: Well, the grown ups were talking and we agreed that we can help you get there this year! You're going! So pack up some warm clothes and anything you think you'll need and we'll be on our way.
  • Violet: Really? We're really going?
  • Player: Really!
  • Violet: Really really?
  • Player: Really really!
  • Violet: Wooohoooooooooooo! Thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you, thank youuuuuuuuu! I'm so EXCITED! Can you help me pack? I'm taking EVERYTHING!!!
  • Player: Everything? It looks like you've got an awful lot of stuff here. Let's only take essentials shall we?
  • Violet: You're right! Shall we take this?
  • Violet shows you a wooden toy train.
  • Player: If it makes you happy, but now let's get some warm clothes.
  • Violet: Good idea. I don't know what is warm enough so how about you help me? We can turn it into a fun game. I like to call it I-spy.
  • Player: Oh wow, you came up with this game all by yourself?
  • Violet: Yup!
  • Player: Let's do it. How do I play?
  • Violet: I'll say a letter and you have to find it and bring it to me.
  • Player: Sounds awesome, let's start.
  • Violet: I spy with my little eyes... something beginning with... TOY TRAIN!
  • Player: Ummm. Thought it was the first letter?
  • Violet: Oooops! Silly me.

Speaking to Betty or Trevor[edit | edit source]

  • Trevor/Betty: I see you've been roped into I-spy.
  • Player: A delightful game for all the family!
  • Trevor/Betty: It's a good way of getting Violet to tidy up. We say an item, she goes and gets it, and then we ask her to put it where it lives. The foolproof way of getting a six year old to tidy her room!

  • Betty: Bless you! You'd better not catch a cold again, make sure you're all wrapped up warm. No taking your gloves off. Even if you're feeling too hot, it's better to keep the warm layers on.
  • Trevor: I'll be coming with you, I know the path well.
  • Player: Are you not bringing anything with you?
  • Trevor: I'm a yeti, all I need for going outside is the wind in my face and snow between my toes.
  • Player: Right... Well I'm ready whenever you both are.[sic]

  • Player: I'll pass, I've just eaten.

    • Yes, return to Gielinor.

In the first clearing[edit | edit source]

Speaking to Trevor and Violet[edit | edit source]

Initial conversation[edit | edit source]
  • Camera pans to show a path.
  • Player: Well, the only place the path appears to go is through there.
  • Violet: In there?
  • Player: Yes, seems this is where it leads. Let's go!
  • Violet: But it's dark.
  • Player: It's a little dark yes bu...
  • Violet: A little dark? There could be monsters... I don't like the dark, Player.
  • Camera returns to normal.
  • Player: Let's work together to find a way to light up the way.
  • Violet: Fire!
  • Player: Probably not fire; besides there is nothing here that would catch fire. It's all damp.
  • Violet: Fire!
  • Player: No fire!
  • Violet: Fire!
  • Player: I can see you're going to be a little pyromancer when you grow up.
  • Violet: Fireflies! Do you see them! Buzzing all around us! SOOOOO PRETTY!
  • Player: Oh right, not a little pyromaniac then. But now you've got me thinking...
Subsequent conversations with Trevor[edit | edit source]
  • Ask a question?
    • Do you have anything useful?
      • Player: Do you have anything that could be of use here?
        • If you do not have an empty jar yet:
          • Trevor: I've got this empty jar.
          • Player: Perfect. Can I please use it?
          • Trevor: What for?
          • Player: Stuff.
          • Trevor: That sounds reasonable! Here you go!
        • If you already have an empty jar:
          • Trevor: I've already given you my jar.
          • Player: Is there anything else that I could have?
          • Trevor: I just coughed up what looks like a furball?
          • Player: On second thought, you'd best keep that for yourself.
    • Do you have any hints?
      • If you have yet to do anything:
        • Trevor: Nope, you should take a look around to see if there is anything that will help light the way.
      • If you have investigated the maple tree before:
        • Player: How can I extract syrup from the trees?
        • Trevor: You'll need to create a spile.
        • Player: What is a spile and how do I make one?
        • Trevor: It's a tree tap and usually crafted from metal or wood, if you find some logs I'm sure you're skilled enough of a fletcher to create such an item.
        • Player: I'll get right too it![sic]
      • If you have a spile in your inventory:
        • Player: How can I extract syrup from the trees?
        • Trevor: You've already got one right there it seems and it's made from maple logs. A maple spile, getting maple from a maple tree! Give it a tap, a shimmy and then push it into a tree to release its syrupy juices.
      • If you have a bucket of syrup in your inventory:
        • Player: I've got a bucket of syrup!
        • Trevor: That's great! Now what are you going to do with it?
        • Player: That's a good question! I should probably look round to see if there's a use for it.
    • Can you please show me the way home?
      • Trevor: Right this way.
      • Screen fades out, and you are teleported outside the portal at White Wolf Mountain.
Subsequent conversations with Violet[edit | edit source]
  • Violet: I don't want to go through the dark.
  • Player: We'll have to light the way.
  • Violet: I need a light!
    • If the player does not have anything for Violet:
      • Player: I'll take a look around and see if I can find you something.
    • If the player has caught a firefly:
      • Player: I've got you a firefly to hold.
      • Violet: Oooooo look at how shiny it is!
      • Violet shoves the firefly into her mouth without second thought.
      • Violet: Deeeeeeeeeelicous! Thank you. Can I get some more?
      • Player: You're not supposed to eat it! It's for lighting the way.
      • Violet: But they taste like popping candy and give a warm feeling in my tummy! They're just toooo tasty not to eat!
      • Player: I'll have to find another way...
      • Trevor: This is why we can't have nice things.
      • Objective: Use the fireflies to light the tunnel somehow.
    • If Violet has already eaten a firefly that the player got for her:
      • Player: If I give you a firefly you're just going to eat it!
      • Violet: YUMMMMMMMMMMMMMY.
      • Player: There must be another way to light the way using the fireflies.
      • Objective: Use the fireflies to light the tunnel somehow.
    • If the player has applied syrup to all of the hanging trees:
      • Player: I've covered as much of the dark area as I can with syrup which should attract the fireflies to them. This should light the way for us.
      • Violet: Tehehehe they're going to eat ALL the syrup!
      • Player: As we run through I need you to let the fireflies out the jar so they fly to the syrup and give us light! No eating them!
      • Screen fades out.

Checking the jar[edit | edit source]

  • If it is empty:
    • Player: It's a jar.
  • If the player has caught some fireflies:
    • Player: I've caught x fireflies.

Investigating the bucket[edit | edit source]

  • If it is on the ground, frozen:
    • Player: Oh wow, a bucket!
  • If it is empty:
    • Player: I can put something inside this.
  • If it is filled with syrup:
    • Player: How does something so tasty just come out of a tree?

Investigating the maple tree[edit | edit source]

  • If it is the first time:
    • Player: It's a maple tree...
    • Trevor: Did you know, the maple tree secretes a sugary syrup that tastes delicious. The syrup is also incredibly useful as it's sticky like glue.
    • Player: Where did you learn this?
    • Trevor: It's common knowledge.
    • Player: Is it though?
    • Trevor: What's brown and sticky?
    • Player: I don't know.
    • Trevor: A stick.
    • Drumroll sound effect
  • If it is the second time:
    • You chop some maple logs.
    • Trevor: Don't chop all of the tree! You're going to ruin all the tasty maple!
  • If you have previously chopped the tree and have maple logs in your inventory:
    • Player: I should find a way of getting some sticky maple.
  • If you have previously chopped the tree, and have crafted a spile from the logs:
    • You attach a spile to the tree.
    • Player: I can get syrup from the tree now!
  • If you have attached a spile to the tree, and do not have an empty bucket on you:
    • Player: Brilliant, there is a spile in this tree which will give me syrup. Now I just need something to collect it in.
  • If you have attached a spile to the tree, and have an empty bucket on you:
    • You fill the bucket up with syrup.
    • Player: Syrup! This will be perfect for keeping the fireflies in place.

Investigating the maple logs[edit | edit source]

  • Player: I could craft this into a spile that would help me obtain the syrup from the trees.
    • Craft the logs?
      • Yes.
        • You carefully craft the logs into a spile.
      • No.
        • (Dialogue terminates)

Investigating the spile[edit | edit source]

  • Player: A spile used for extracting syrup from trees.

Shaking the bush[edit | edit source]

  • If you have not shaken the bush previously:
    • You shake some fireflies loose.
    • Player: Shake it off!
  • If you have shaken the bush previously:
    • Player: Doesn't seem to be anything here.

Catching a firefly[edit | edit source]

  • (Without a jar:)
    • Player: I've got nothing to hold them with.
  • (Catching them before Violet has eaten a firefly:)
    • Player: Perfect! Violet can hold this whilst we go through the forest.
  • (If you already have caught a firefly, but Violet has not eaten a firefly yet:)
    • Player: I've already got a firefly for Violet to hold.
  • (Catching them after Violet has eaten a firefly:)
    • (If you have not caught 10 fireflies yet:)
      • x/10 fireflies caught.
    • (If you have already caught 10 fireflies:)
      • Player: I don't have enough room to catch more. I could break the jar but then I'd have to submit a bug report.

Investigating the firefly[edit | edit source]

  • Player: Violet could hold this so it lights the way!

Checking a leaning tree[edit | edit source]

  • If the player has not covered the tree in syrup yet, and does not have a bucket of syrup on them, and Violet has not eaten any fireflies yet:
    • Player: This looks like a great spot to place a makeshift light to light the way.
  • If the player has not covered the tree in syrup yet, and does not have a bucket of syrup on them, and Violet has eaten a firefly:
    • Player: This looks like a great spot to place a makeshift light to light the way. If I can find a way to extract the sticky syrup from a tree I might be able to use that to atract[sic] the fireflies to this, lighting the way.
  • If the player has not covered the tree in syrup yet, and has a bucket of syrup on them:
    • You have covered x/4 areas with syrup.
      • If it is the last tree to be covered in syrup:
        • Player: That appears to be all the surfaces I could possibly cover. I should tell Violet the next step of the plan.
  • If the player has covered the tree in syrup:
    • Player: This is sticky and should attract fireflies helping to light the way.

Proceeding through the woods[edit | edit source]

  • Screen fades in to the trio running through the woods.
  • Violet: Are we out of the woods yet?
  • Fireflies fly out of the jar Violet is holding, to each of the trees that were covered with syrup, lighting the way.
  • Player: Violet! Don't run too far ahead! Look out!
  • Screen fades out.

In the second clearing[edit | edit source]

Seeing the headless ice golems[edit | edit source]

  • Violet: They've got no heads.[sic] ...
  • Player: That's a good thing. It means they won't see us sneaking past!
  • Violet: But they've got no heads... That makes me sad. Please can we help them?
  • Player: Sure, let's make them some makeshift heads.
  • Violet: Yayyyyyyyyy! There is some snow over there we can use to make new heads for the golems.
  • Objective: Find a suitable replacement for the ice golem's missing heads.

Speaking to Violet[edit | edit source]

  • If you have yet to do anything:
    • Violet: We need something to give these golems heads!
    • Player: I'll take a look around! Meanwhile make sure you don't go running off as there could be dangerous things ahead!
  • If you and Violet have reattached all the ice golems' heads:
    • Player: Where do you get such pinpoint aim?
    • Violet: Snowball fights with Dad! He's easier to hit because he eats aaaallllll the stew Mum makes. But we shouldn't tell him that though. Teehehehe.
    • Trevor: That was cheeky, Violet.
    • Violet: But Mum aaaaaaaaalways calls you her chunky monkey.
    • Trevor: ...
    • Violet: That was so fun Player, I loved every second of it! Can we take one home with us?
    • Trevor: We've already got one little horror running about the house! How do you think we'll be able to handle two![sic]
    • Violet: I'm not a horror! I'm a yeti.
    • Player: Should we get going?
    • Violet: Wait wait wait... We've got to name them all first!
    • Player: That will take way too long.
    • Violet: That one is Cold-feet and that one is Ice-man and that one is...
    • Player: Before you get attached to them we should go...
    • Violet: ...and this one is Cold-hands and that's Small-foot over there next to...
    • Screen fades out.

Speaking to Trevor[edit | edit source]

  • If you have yet to do anything:
    • Player: Are you having fun?
    • Trevor: My old bones can't take all this adventure anymore. But in answer to your question; yes, I am having a whale of a time.
    • Player: Glad to hear!
  • If you and Violet have reattached all the ice golems' heads:
    • Trevor: That was really fun to watch! Violet is going to be quite the dead shot when she grows up.

Leaving the area via Trevor[edit | edit source]

  • Player: Can you help me get home? I'll return to help Violet soon.
  • Return to Gielinor?
    • Yes.
      • The screen fades out and back in, and you are teleported outside the portal at White Wolf Mountain.
    • No.
      • (Dialogue terminates.)

Interacting with icy snow[edit | edit source]

Before attaching the heads[edit | edit source]

  • Player: How about using this snow to make the heads?
  • Violet: Don't be silly! That is snow!
  • Player: If I compact the snow hard enough together, it will hold together and work just fine! How do you think snowmen are made?
  • Violet: Snow... Snowman? What is a snowman?
  • Player: A man made of snow.
  • Violet: Tehehehe you're SOOOOOOO silly. Okay, but if I pull a face you have to make it just like mine!
  • Violet: A face like... THIS!
    • Pick a head!
      • Happy face.
        • (Continues below.)
      • Sad face.
        • (Continues below.)
      • Laughing face.
        • (Continues below.)
      • Angry face.
        • (Continues below.)
  • (After selecting a face:)
  • (After a few rounds of Violet making faces:)
    • Player: That looks like we have enough. How do you suggest we go about giving them the heads?
    • Violet: They're snowball heads! So lets throw them like snowballs!
    • Player: I'll point them out and you hit them? Sound good?
    • Violet: Ahahahahaha what a great plan!

After attaching the heads[edit | edit source]

  • You don't need this right now.

A plan for reattaching their heads[edit | edit source]

  • Violet: You point them out! I'll throw the heads to reattach them!
  • Player: Sounds like a good plan.

Reattaching an ice golem's head[edit | edit source]

  • You have reattached x/15 golem heads.
  • Ice golem: Yay!

At the frozen lake[edit | edit source]

Taking a short break[edit | edit source]

  • Player: Phew... what a walk...
  • Trevor: You can't be tired already? I thought you said you were some kind of great adventurer?
  • Player: I am! I'm just not used to such a snowy terrain. Anyway what do we have here?
  • Screen pans to show more of the frozen lake.
  • Player: We need to find a way across this lake, but that ice does not look safe.
  • Trevor: You're right. If we try to cross that now, we'll go straight through.
  • Player: Hmm... well we'll need to find another way round. Say, I don't suppose you know a way?
  • Camera pans back to you and Trevor.
  • Trevor: This IS the only way.
  • Player: Are you sure? You did say it had been years since you've been to town.
  • Trevor: I'm old, not stupid.
  • Player: Okay, okay! I didn't mean it like that. All I mean is there has to be a way we can get round without risking Violet's life on the ice.
  • Violet: RAWWWWWWRRRRRRR! Teeheehee! Snow everywhere!
  • Player: Violet you did it!
  • Violet: Did what?
  • Player: You gave me an idea! We can use Violet's roars to cause more snow to fall and thicken up the ice, that should make it safe enough to cross.
  • Trevor: Why don't you leave this to me? Get ready for the best roar you've ever heard!
  • Player: STOP! I'm sure you have a great roar but this is Violet's adventure remember? You keep her busy while I give her something else to roar at.
  • Violet: RAWWWWWWRRRRRRR!
  • Objective: Build something else for Violet to roar at.

Speaking to Violet[edit | edit source]

  • If you have yet to do anything:
    • Violet: RAWWWWWWRRRRRRR!
    • Player: That's it, keep practicing your roar and I'll build these snowmen.
  • If you have built the snowmen, and there is at least one snowman still standing:
    • Player: Look, Violet, another snowman!
    • Violet: I'm going to get it!
    • Violet runs over to the snowman on the right.
    • Violet: RAWWWWWWRRRRRRR!
    • The snowman collapses, as well as several other piles of snow falling onto the frozen surface of the lake.
    • Player: That's it, Violet!
      • If it is the third snowman that Violet has roared to death:
        • The ice is now thick enough to walk across.
        • Trevor and Violet cross the ice.
        • Violet: Let's go!

Speaking to Trevor[edit | edit source]

  • If you have yet to do anything:
    • Trevor: Is the ice safe to cross yet?
    • Player: Not yet. I need to build some snowmen and Violet's roar should be able to knock snow from the trees to help strengthen the ice.
    • Trevor: I'm sure if you look around you can find everything you need.

Stepping onto the ice[edit | edit source]

  • If the ice is still too thin:
    • The ice is too thin to walk on safely.
  • If the ice now has enough snow on it to be thick enough to hold your weight:
    • The ice creaks but holds your weight.

Collecting from pile of snow[edit | edit source]

Before having collected a total of 75 snowballs[edit | edit source]
  • You take a handful of snowballs.
Having collected a total of 75 snowballs[edit | edit source]
  • Player: That looks like enough snow for now.

Pruning the tree[edit | edit source]

  • If you have not collected 6 branches in total:
    • You prune some branches from the tree.
  • If you have collected a total of 6 branches:
    • Player: I'm going to be sycamore of seeing branches if I prune anymore.

Searching the abandoned crates[edit | edit source]

  • If the player has yet to obtain 21 Coal, 3 Top Hats, and 3 Carrots:
    • The player may find any one of the following at random:
      • You find some coal.
      • You find a top hat.
      • You find some carrots.
    • If the player has found everything that they needed from the crates:
      • There's nothing here.

Rebuilding a melted snowman[edit | edit source]

  • If you do not have any of the required materials:
    • To rebuild the snowman you need:
      25 x Snowball
  • If you have added the snowballs but do not have any branches:
    • To rebuild the snowman you need:
      2 x Branch
  • If you have added the snowballs and branches, but lack the coals and carrot:
    • To rebuild the snowman you need:
      7 x Coal
      1 x Carrot
  • If you have added the snowballs, branches, and given the snowman a face, but lack a top hat:
    • To rebuild the snowman you need:
      1 x Top hat
  • If you have rebuilt the snowman, and decided to admire it:
    • You cheer.
    • What a well built snowman!

Commiserating a broken snowman[edit | edit source]

  • You cry.
  • Player: In this moment, I realise the inevitability of life is that you are but a moment away from death. Life can feel so solid, but really you are just compacted ice on a winter's day. Sunshine, a swift kick or a roar to the face can change everything. Snowman... oh, snowman... you went before we could truly appreciate you. But I will honour you.
  • You salute the broken snowman.
  • Player: This day, and each that follows, I will carry a small piece of you in my heart.

Crossing the ice[edit | edit source]

Talking to Violet[edit | edit source]

  • (If you have yet to do anything:)
    • Violet: Oooh that's a lot of ice! How do we get across that?
    • Player: That's what I'm about to figure out. We're going to need to find some way of getting you across safely first though.
    • Objective: Look around for a way to cross the frozen lake.
  • (If you have a barrel:)
    • Violet: What's the barrel for?
    • Player: Violet, how would you like to ride the barrel express? Next stop: Yeti Town!
    • Camera fades out and you are now on the ice with Violet in a barrel.

Talking to Trevor[edit | edit source]

  • (If you have yet to do anything:)
    • Trevor: You really are resourceful aren't you?
    • Player: An adventurer must be prepared for any eventuality. You'd be amazed by the things you can use on each other to get bizarre interactions.
    • Trevor: I have no doubt. So, what next?
    • Player: Onwards to Yeti Town! Taking on whatever this journey throws at us one step at a time.
  • (If using the barrel on him:)
    • Player: Alright, are you ready for this?
    • Trevor: Why are you looking at me like that?
    • The screen fades out.
    • Player: No, move your leg over there!
    • Trevor: I don't bend that way!
    • Player: Right, twist. A bit more. A bit more.
    • Trevor: My bones...
    • Player: Come on! It's like you're not even trying!
    • Trevor: ...what are you doing to me?
    • The screen fades back in.
    • No matter what you try, you cannot fit an adult yeti in a barrel of this size.

Investigating the compacted snow[edit | edit source]

  • If you have yet to do anything:
    • Player: The lake looks pretty slippy. We should probably find a safe way to get Violet across. What's a good way of making this a fun adventure? I should look around for supplies.
  • If you have a barrel:
    • Player: Well, here goes nothing!
    • Screen fades out; you are now on the ice with Violet in a barrel.

Retrieving the barrel[edit | edit source]

  • You reach into the icy water...
  • You pull a barrel from the water. It looks about the right size to fit Violet.

During the puzzle[edit | edit source]

Pushing Violet in the Barrel at the start of the puzzle[edit | edit source]
  • Player: Are you ready, Violet?
  • Violet: LET'S GO! WHEEEEEE!
  • You push the barrel with Violet in it.
Pushing Violet in the Barrel in a direction she can't go[edit | edit source]
  • Violet may say any one of the following at random:
    • Violet: Are we there yet?
    • Violet: Ice ahead!
    • Violet: No good.
    • Violet: I'm stuck!
    • Violet: Try pushing a different way.
      • If Violet is in a corner:
        • Violet in a barrel: I'm stuck!
          • Would you like to reset and try again?
            • Yes, looks like we're stuck.
              • Screen fades out; you and Violet in the Barrel are back at the start.
            • No, I have a plan.
              • (Dialogue terminates.)
Resetting the puzzle[edit | edit source]
  • Would you like to reset and try again?
    • Yes, looks like we're stuck.
      • Screen fades out; you and Violet in the Barrel are back at the start.
    • No, I have a plan.
      • (Dialogue terminates.)
Getting to the end[edit | edit source]
  • If you make it by yourself
    • Player: Phew! I made it.
    • Violet in a barrel: Hey! What about me?
    • Player: I knew I was forgetting something...
  • Getting there with Violet
    • Player: Violet, we did it!
    • Violet in a barrel: Again! Again!
    • Player: Maybe later, right now we have to get you to Yeti Town. But how are we going to get your dad across?
    • Screen fades out; camera pans to show Trevor.
    • Trevor: Don't you worry about me! Look out! Here I come!
    • Trevor takes a long leap, lands on the ice and slides across. Screen fades out; you, Trevor, and Violet are in a new area.
    • Player: That was incredible!
    • Trevor: Ow, my bones...

Constructing the sled[edit | edit source]

Talking to Trevor[edit | edit source]

  • Trevor: It's lovely to see how excited she is.

Talking to Violet[edit | edit source]

Initial conversation[edit | edit source]
  • Violet: Yeti Town is just down that hill! Ooooo I can see it! Look! Look, it's over there! ... *mumble*
  • Player: What's up, Violet?
  • Violet: *slightly louder inaudible mumble* *mumble* ...friends...
  • Player: What is it?
  • Violet: What if they don't like me? What if no one wants to be my friend?
  • Player: Now, why would they not want to be friends, with you?
  • Violet: *mumble*
  • Player: You are brave, fun and lovable, and now one of the world's greatest adventurers! The kids will be lining up to be your friend!
  • Violet: You really think so?
  • Player: I sure do! Now, what do you say we figure out how to get down there and make the best entrance ever? That slope is too steep to walk down. We need to find a safe way of getting down there.
  • Violet: We should build a big sled, with lots of lights and lots of sparkles. With go faster lines on the side![sic]
  • Player: Let's do it!
  • (Continues below.)
Subsequent conversations[edit | edit source]
  • If you have yet to investigate the Open space:
    • Player: You're in charge. What do we need to do?
    • Violet: We need to find a clear spot to build our sled.
  • If nothing has been built:
    • Player: What do you think we should do next?
    • Violet: Could we sit on Dad as he slides down on his belly?
    • Trevor: I don't think my bones will be able to take both of you.
    • Violet and Player: Awwwwh.
    • Violet: What about... Sliding down whilst me and Dad sit on you!
    • Player: I don't think I'd be able to take both of you sitting on me. I'll have a look around to see if there is anything we could use.
    • Violet: I'll stand here and watch.
  • If the sled has nothing except the sign:
    • Player: What do you think we should do next?
    • Violet: We could just slide down on just the wood! That would be SO funny!
    • Player: I think we need to add a level of safety to it first. I do not want to be responsible for any pain or loss here.
    • Violet: What could we bind it together with? More maple syrup?
    • Player: We could try it for sure. I gave the last of it to your dad to hold.
    • Trevor: I wasn't going to eat it, I was just going taste it.[sic]
    • Violet: Daaaaaaaaadddddd!
    • Player: I guess we'll have to look around for something else then.
  • If the sled has no 'feet' yet:
    • Player: What do you think we should do next?
    • Violet: How is it going to move?
    • Player: We're going to slide it.
    • Violet: You're so silly.
    • Player: Why am I silly?
    • Violet: Where are the feet?
    • Player: The feet?
    • Violet: Yessss, the sled's feet. Where are they? How do you think it's going to move?
    • Player: It's a sled, it slides.
    • Violet: Can't slide if it's got no feet!
    • Player: Okay, i'll find suitable 'feet' for the sled.[sic]
  • If the sled has no lantern yet:
    • Player: What do you think we should do next?
    • Violet: We need a light for it.
    • Player: Do you suppose you've got any fireflies left in the jar?
    • Violet: Hehehehe... Of coooourse I dont.[sic]
    • Player: Why did I even ask? I'll go find a light.
  • If the sled has an unlit lantern:
    • Player: What do you think we should do next? I've found a lantern but no fuel.
    • Violet: Are you going to find some fuel?
    • Player: I guess so!
  • If the sled is completed:
    • Player: What do you think we should do next? It's time to give the sled a name.
    • Violet: Oooo oooo can I pick? Please please please?
    • Player: I wouldn't have it any other way.
    • Violet: How about... Hmmm... I can't think of a name. Could you give me some ideas please?
      • Suggest a name for the sled
        • Slidy sled
          • (Continues below.)
        • Cool runnings
          • (Continues below.)
        • Warm walkings[sic]
          • (Continues below.)
        • Violet's pride
          • (Continues below.)
        • Sleddy McSledface
          • (Continues below.)
        • Bob
          • (Continues below.)
        • Dunstan
          • (Continues below.)
        • The troll's romance
          • (Continues below.)
        • Violet
          • (Continues below.)
      • After selecting a name for the sled:
        • Player: How about [sled name]?
        • Violet: I love it. Oh I really love it!
        • Player: Should we add the racing stripes now?
        • Violet: Oh no, it's perfect the way it is!
        • Player: It's time we set off for Yeti Town. Are you ready?
        • Violet: More ready then EVER! Oh I am SO excited.[sic]
        • Screen fades out; you and Trevor are walking into Yeti Town, while Violet sleds in.

Investigating objects in the area[edit | edit source]

Open space/sled[edit | edit source]

  • (If you have not spoken to Violet yet:)
    • Player: I should talk to Violet.
  • First time after speaking to Violet:
    • Player: This looks like a good place to build a sled. How does this look?
    • Violet: Tehehehe, it's just a flat area!
    • Player: Exactly, a perfectly flat, super and open area.
    • Violet: Then this is where we'll build the bestest sled EVER![sic]
    • Objective: Find a suitable material to build the sled with.
    • Player: Next we need to find a suitable material to build the sled with.
  • (If you do not have the yeti sign:)
    • Player: Next we need to find a suitable material to build the sled with.
  • (If you have the yeti sign:)
    • You begin to assemble the sled.
    • Player: Who needs instructions?
    • Player: Hmmmm
    • Player: Pretty sure that is right?
    • Player: Nope that looks wrong...
    • Player: Okay maybe instructions are needed...
    • Objective: Find something to bind the sled together with.
    • Player: Perfect!
  • (If investigating after the sign has been added:)
    • Player: Next we need to find something to bind the sled together with.
  • (If investigating with the rope:)
    • You put the rope on the sled.
    • Player: A bit of rope here
    • Player: A bit of rope there
    • Player: That seems quite tight
    • Player: Feeling sturdy!
    • Objective: Find something to help the sled slide.
    • Player: Perfect!
    • Player: Next we need to find something to help the sled slide.
  • (If investigating after the rope has been added:)
    • Player: Next we need to find something to help the sled slide.
  • (If investigating with the barrel parts:)
    • Player: A perfect fit!
    • Player: This is a little wonky
    • Player: If I just bend that... and then turn that...
    • Player: Oh, I am good!

Rotten barrel[edit | edit source]

  • (If you have not spoken to Violet yet:)
    • Player: I should talk to Violet.
  • (If you have spoken to Violet:)
    • Player: Maybe this old barrel will do? All the wood has rotted away leaving only the metal fasteners.
    • Trevor: If that barrel was complete, we could have just slid Violet down in it and walked down ourselves.
    • Player: In that case, why didn't we just keep the barrel from earlier and do that?
    • Trevor: That would be forward thinking and seeing you struggle is... ...wait for it...[sic] ...a barrel of laughs.

Talking to Trevor[edit | edit source]

  • Trevor: Look at her face! She's so happy!
  • Player: Yeah, I think we did a good job.

        • Trevor: You adventurers... always on the run. Let an old yeti give you some advice.
        • Trevor: Slow down and appreciate what's around you. There's so much in the world you may be missing; in your rush to see and do everything, are you really present to enjoy what is in front of you?
        • Trevor: Violet... how she came into our lives was such a surprise. But she was the best thing to happen to us!
        • Trevor: Betty and I are happier than we've ever been now we're a family.
        • Player: Stop! You're going to make me cry!
