Normal dialogue[edit | edit source]

  • First line is a random one out of the following:
  • Archaeologist: Greetings, my dear sir. Have you come to give us a hand?
  • Archaeologist: Hello there; I see you're qualified. Come to help us out?
  • Archaeologist: Hello! You're that student who recently finished all three Earth Sciences exams, aren't you? Come to help us out?
    • Player: Yes, how can I help out?
      • When you don't have the equipment:
        • Archaeologist: Well, you'll need to get your equipment first - it's all there on the tool rack. Use what you learned from your Earth Sciences exams. You'll need to be wearing your leather gloves and boots as well as have access to your trowel, rock pick and specimen brush.
      • When you're wearing leather boots and gloves and have the trowel, rock pick and specimen brush in your inventory:
        • Archaeologist: To really give us a hand, you could clean some finds for us. They're mostly done - just some fine work to finish off. Take a find from the pile that the workmen are bringing in, then there are spare tables over there to clean them on. If you find anything interesting, let us know and we'll see if it's good enough to go on display.
      • Ends dialogue
    • Player: I have a question about the Statue of Dahmaroc.
      • Player: Tell me again where the statue comes from.
        • Archaeologist: Well, we've only been able to piece bits together here and there, but it appears that Dahmaroc was a mage of great power who was caught up in an almighty battle back in the Second Age. It seems this battle was over who should have the lion's share of the runes that the sentient races had found around RuneScape.
        • Player: Runes? As in the ones I use for magic now? Surely they're unlimited.
        • Archaeologist: Now they are, yes, but back then there was a limited supply. At least, that's what the scraps of information we've found indicate.
        • Player: Interesting. So what happened to Dahmaroc?
        • Archaeologist: As far as we can gather, he lost, was turned to stone and then cursed. It's said he was doomed to spend eternity with the thing he loved most...
        • Player: That doesn't sound so bad. Did he have a wife?
        • Archaeologist: Well, we're not sure about that. We do know that he loved to gain knowledge and skill in new disciplines. No taste for fighting, though. Indeed, it was combat that proved to be his downfall.
        • If you don't have a statue collection bag:
          • Archaeologist: By the way, if you want a bag to keep further finds in, I can supply one.
          • Player: Yes please.
          • The archaeologist hands you a sturdy bag.
          • Back to initial options
        • If you already have a statue collection bag:
          • Archaeologist: You already have a statue collection bag.
          • Back to inital options
      • Player: Twin? How do I get its twin?
        • Archaeologist: Well, I'm not sure, but I suspect the same way you got the first one.
        • Player: Why do I even need a twin?
        • Archaeologist: Because, rather intriguingly, they interlock in pairs to make up the whole statue without any kind of adhesive being required.
        • If you don't have a statue collection bag:
          • Archaeologist: By the way, if you want a bag to keep further finds in, I can supply one.
          • Player: Yes please.
          • Archaeologist hands you a sturdy bag.
          • Back to initial options
        • If you already have a statue collection bag:
          • Archaeologist: You already have a statue collection bag.
          • Back to inital options
      • Player: How do I add it to the statue?
        • Archaeologist: If you have strange rocks you've found from training, simply use the pairs of parts on the plinth over there. If you mean one of the replicas we made for you, use the pairs of replica parts on the plinth in your house.
      • Player: I'll have to keep a list of pieces.
        • Archaeologist: Yes, that would be wise. Here's some paper to use.
        • The archaeologist hands you a piece of paper which you quickly scribble on.
        • Ends dialogue
      • If you're still receiving rocks
        • Player: How can I stop getting these rocks?
          • Archaeologist: Ah, I do recall an incantation that might help. I believe it was...
          • The archaeologist casts a spell named "Incanto Negato Silicis"
          • You will stop receiving rocks
          • Back to initial options
      • If you have chosen to stop receiving rocks
        • Player: How can I get these rocks again?
          • Archaeologist: Ah, I do recall an incantation that might help. I believe it was...
          • The archaeologist casts a spell named "Incanto Additto Silicis"
          • You will start receiving rocks again
            • If you don't have a statue collection bag:
            • Archaeologist: By the way, if you want a bag to keep further finds in, I can supply one.
              • Player: Yes please.
                • The archaeologist hands you a sturdy bag.
                • Back to initial options
              • Player: No thanks.
                • Back to initial options
            • If you already have a statue collection bag:
            • Archaeologist: You already have a statue collection bag.
      • Player: I'd like to reset my statue.
        • Archaeologist: Are you sure? You'll lose all of your progress!
        • Warning: You will lose all your progress, including any statue built in your house. This can not be reversed.
        • Chose Yes or No
    • Player: No thanks - No, just here to watch.

When using an artefact obtained from an Uncleaned find on them[edit | edit source]

  • Player: Take a look at this... I found Used item
  • Archaeologist: An interesting find... Here, let me offer you something in return.
  • Player: Oh! Okay.
  • The archaeologist gives you the correspondent reward
