Cutscene[edit | edit source]

  • TzKal-Zuk: I am Zuk.
  • TzKal-Zuk: I have been a chieftain, a gladiator, a warlord, a demigod.
  • TzKal-Zuk: I was born into a world where all were free. Then, the Empire came.
  • TzKal-Zuk: Conquered my people. Threw me into the pits. I was to die there.
  • TzKal-Zuk: Nothing could challenge me. Demons, dragons and vampyres fell to my blade.
  • TzKal-Zuk: From the great Tribune Torva, I won back my freedom.
  • TzKal-Zuk: I went in search of worthier foes.
  • TzKal-Zuk: Beneath a distant volcano, I found the ultimate arena.
  • TzKal-Zuk: The TokHaar - who shaped the mountains at the dawn of time - battled endlessly.
  • TzKal-Zuk: They fell all the same.
  • TzKal-Zuk: They called me TzKal - Champion of the Fire. The first outsider to defeat them all.
  • TzKal-Zuk: For my prize, I claimed the Elder Kiln itself.
  • TzKal-Zuk: For centuries it changed me. I became undying.
  • TzKal-Zuk: Like TokHaar, I am born again within the Kiln. Unlike TokHaar, my mind is my own.
  • TzKal-Zuk: The God Wars called to me. The TokHaar would not follow, but the lava beasts would.
  • TzKal-Zuk: We carved through the weak surface dwellers effortlessly. It was only Bandos himself who stopped me.
  • TzKal-Zuk: Coward. He chained me within the Kiln.
  • TzKal-Zuk: When Ful needed an army, she had no use for the failed TokHaar.
  • TzKal-Zuk: They were remade. Artisans reforged into soldiers.
  • TzKal-Zuk: Now they are the TzekHaar, united in purpose.
  • TzKal-Zuk: They serve without question. Mine to command.
  • TzKal-Zuk: Ful wants the eggs, but I pay no heed to her desires.
  • TzKal-Zuk: I seek only the glory of combat. Is anyone in this alliance worthy?
  • TzKal-Zuk: Refuse me, and your world will end.

Talking to Avaryss, the Unceasing[edit | edit source]

  • Avaryss, the Unceasing: Do not worry, sister. We shall attack. Together.

Talking to Nymora, the Vengeful[edit | edit source]

  • Nymora, the Vengeful: Do you think you have what it takes to face whatever lurks in the depths below?

Talking to General Khazard[edit | edit source]

  • General Khazard: My father will see my worth, I promise you this.

Talking to Hazeel[edit | edit source]

  • Hazeel: How typical of Saradomin to have not adequately prepared his people for such an eventuality, and how typical of Azzanadra to devise such a convoluted plan to deal with it.

Talking to Zarador[edit | edit source]

  • Zarador: It was never the plan to lose, but no one can say that we did not fight valiantly.

Talking to Zemouregal[edit | edit source]

  • Zemouregal: Druids, elves, humans. Pathetic! No wonder you've all been doing so badly.

Talking to General Graardor[edit | edit source]

  • (Only on first time:)
    • General Graardor: Grr! Just wait, Zuk! Graardor will return - stronger, and with...full use of limbs!
    • Player: Graardor? What are you doing here?
    • General Graardor: World Guardian. Here to gloat?
    • Player: Um... No?
    • General Graardor: Graardor challenged Zuk to combat. Battle was long and furious, but...
    • General Graardor: Graardor was defeated! Driven from arena like craven cur while Zuk laughed.
    • Player: You fought Zuk? That towering monstrosity over there?
    • Player: He's huge! If you fought him and survived, I don't think you should feel all that bad.
    • General Graardor: NO! Graardor must fight again! For honour of Bandos!
    • General Graardor: Doesn't...need to feel legs. Legs...for the weak.
    • Player: Settle down, big guy - you've done enough. Let me take it from here.
  • (After the first time:)
    • General Graardor: World Guardian returns. Should be fighting - not bothering Graardor.
    • (Continues below.)

    • What's going on here?
      • Player: What's going on here?
      • General Graardor: Graardor heard about great battle raging underground - forces of Elder Gods versus whole world.
      • General Graardor: No one invited Graardor. Came anyway.
      • General Graardor: Mustered great Bandosian host. Fought through Ful's troops. Smashed through TzekHaar lines, then reached this arena.
      • General Graardor: Graardor knew that Zuk only defeated once - by Lord Bandos.
      • General Graardor: Told troops to stay outside. Went in alone. Wanted to honour Lord Bandos's memory - defeat Zuk in battle.
      • Player: That...doesn't seem to have gone to plan.
      • General Graardor: Alright. No need to rub in.
      • General Graardor: Now Zuk sits here. Challenges any who would fight. Cares not for Elder God eggs - only seeks strong opponents.
      • General Graardor: But already Zuk grows restless. Will seek challenge where he must. If not here, in cathedral.
      • Player: Then the gods would have no choice but to fight him, and the eggs would hatch.
      • General Graardor: Want Zuk to stay here - not attack cathedral?
      • General Graardor: Give him what he wants. Fight.
      • Player: Got it.
      • (Shows the initial options.)
    • Tell me more about TzKal-Zuk.
      • Player: Tell me more about TzKal-Zuk.
      • General Graardor: Honourless swine! Sitting there on throne, looking bored. Smug face...
      • Player: But he's wearing a helmet. You can't see his face.
      • General Graardor: It is...smuggest helmet ever forged!
      • Player: Okay, fine. But who is he?
      • General Graardor: Long ago, Zuk was human gladiator, too stupid and stubborn to die. Stole power from TokHaar kiln. Became demigod.
      • General Graardor: Unworthy of such power, so Lord Bandos made example.
      • General Graardor: Lord Bandos was cunning and mighty - trapped Zuk. Showed true meaning of strength.
      • General Graardor: But now Zuk is freed by Elder God Ful, and Lord Bandos not here to contain him. So...it falls to Graardor.
      • General Graardor: Just...need to rest. Until internal bleeding stops.
      • (Shows the initial options.)
    • Who are the TzekHaar?
      • Player: Who are the TzekHaar?
      • General Graardor: Remember TokHaar from Battle at Monolith? Big, black-and-purple pawns of the Elder Gods...
      • Player: Yeah. They were tough.
      • General Graardor: TzekHaar make them look like paperweights.
      • Player: Oh.
      • General Graardor: TokHaar were mighty, yet still only builders. To take back eggs, Elder God Ful needed more.
      • General Graardor: TzekHaar forged in fire and anger, deep in soot-black guts of Gielinor. Know only war.
      • General Graardor: Surviving Bandosians are the strongest, though. With Zamorak's walking dead, can hold off TzekHaar.
      • General Graardor: Zuk...is other matter.
      • (Shows the initial options.)
    • That's all for now.
      • Player: Goodbye, General Graardor.

Talking to TzKal-Zuk[edit | edit source]

  • TzKal-Zuk: You seem to be lost, mortal. This arena is no place for the weak.
  • Player: I'm the World Guardian. And I'm exactly where I need to be - right between you and the cathedral.
  • TzKal-Zuk: Ahh - the one who fought the TokHaar at the Monolith. You're smaller than I thought you'd be.
  • TzKal-Zuk: Still...'Slayer of the World Guardian' will be a fine accolade to add to the list.
  • Player: Look-
  • TzKal-Zuk: Silence! My patience wears thin.
  • TzKal-Zuk: The only thing stopping me tearing down those cathedral walls right now is the promise of a good fight.
  • TzKal-Zuk: Want to stop those eggs from hatching? Want to be the hero who saves the world?
  • TzKal-Zuk: Step into the ring. Face the TzekHaar in combat. Show me you're more than the worthless belly-crawler you seem to be.
  • Player: Glad to.
  • (After the first time with further unknown conditions:)
    • TzKal-Zuk: Oh, it's you. Could've sworn you died.
  • SELECT AN OPTION
    • Who are you?
      • Player: Who are you?
      • TzKal-Zuk: I am TzKal-Zuk! Champion of the Fire! Warlord of the TzekHaar, and First Blade of the Elder God Ful!
      • TzKal-Zuk: I believe that's what they're calling me now.
      • Player: You...believe?
      • TzKal-Zuk: I lose track. After the first few millennia, the sycophantic gushing all sounds the same.
      • Player: Millennia? How long have you been alive?
      • TzKal-Zuk: I was born in the Second Age, though I couldn't tell you a year.
      • TzKal-Zuk: I was human then. Chieftain of a proud people. Until we were swept aside by the vast war machine of the Zarosian Empire.
      • TzKal-Zuk: My people were strong and free. Now they are forgotten - erased from history, as so many cultures were in that age of conquest.
      • Player: Surely you remember them.
      • TzKal-Zuk: There are fragments of memory. Faces, sounds, scents...But they are memories of another life.
      • TzKal-Zuk: Everything I had was stripped away by war and strife. And now there is nothing else of me left.
      • Player: What happened to you then?
      • TzKal-Zuk: I was thrown into the Senntisten Colosseum and made to fight for the amusement of the Empire. I was only too happy to oblige.
      • TzKal-Zuk: No one could match me - no one at all. The mightiest warriors of every nation - every race...all fell to my blade.
      • TzKal-Zuk: Eventually, I was noticed by the Tribune, Torva, who challenged me to a duel. When I defeated him, he arranged for me to be freed.
      • TzKal-Zuk: But I was left with an unending compulsion to fight - a hunger that could not be sated. So I delved deep within the earth. Sought the servants of the Elders and their kiln of endless combat.
      • TzKal-Zuk: I fought them, and they kept coming. For days I struck them down, and just when it seemed that my endurance was spent...they stopped.
      • TzKal-Zuk: I fell forward, leaning on my sword. Through blurred eyes, I saw the TokHaar-Hur rolling towards me, heads bowed in supplication.
      • TzKal-Zuk: I was carried to the Kiln, hailed as its champion. And there I stayed...for how long, I cannot say.
      • TzKal-Zuk: Brutal training and exposure to the kiln changed me, until I was as you see me now.
      • (Shows the initial options.)
    • Why are you just sitting here?
      • Player: Why are you just sitting here?
      • TzKal-Zuk: Waiting.
      • Player: For what?
      • TzKal-Zuk: For someone worth fighting.
      • Player: Not that I'm complaining, but...aren't you here to attack the cathedral?
      • TzKal-Zuk: We are in the midst of the ultimate battlefield, where the greatest warriors in the world converge.
      • TzKal-Zuk: Battle is life. Combat is meaning. Why would I deny myself the chance to experience everything it has to offer?
      • TzKal-Zuk: I am eager to test myself against the gods at the cathedral. But they aren't going anywhere.
      • TzKal-Zuk: Also, the longer I wait, the more power they will leech from the Elder Gods' eggs. And the more glorious the feat when I crush them.
      • (Shows the initial options.)
    • Why do you serve the elder gods?
      • TzKal-Zuk: You assume a great deal.
      • Player: What...you don't serve Ful?
      • TzKal-Zuk: Ful wants her egg to hatch. There are gods stopping that happening.
      • TzKal-Zuk: I have fought a god before. Bandos...a fraud, wielding power wrested from another - just like all of his kind.
      • TzKal-Zuk: I long to truly prove myself against a god. To show that power earned beats power stolen.
      • TzKal-Zuk: So you might say that Ful's objectives and my own are aligned.
      • Player: Sounds like you're just being manipulated. For all your strength, you're nothing but a pawn.
      • TzKal-Zuk: There has been no greater battlefield than this in thousands of years. Where else would I possibly be but here, fighting?
      • TzKal-Zuk: If to act in accordance with my true nature - to fulfil my very destiny - is to be manipulated...then manipulated I am.
      • TzKal-Zuk: Your destiny, on the other hand, seems to be to waste my time with sophistry when you should be fighting.
      • Player: Do you really think you can defeat the gods? Even Seren?
      • TzKal-Zuk: Perhaps. And if not, I will die - as all things do.
      • TzKal-Zuk: I have defeated every other challenger. Passed every other trial. This is the only path before me, and I will not be deterred.
      • (Shows the initial options.)
    • Let's fight.
