Varrock[edit | edit source]

  • Soran, Emissary of Zaros: Before we begin, are you here to talk to me in my capacity as a Zarosian emissary or my role as an archaeology collector?
  • What are you here to discuss?
    • Zarosian emissary.
      • Choose an option:
        • (Only if not asked before:)
          • Who are you?
            • Soran, Emissary of Zaros: I am called Soran. I have travelled far to bring word that the Empty Lord watches over us all. I am the emissary of Zaros. If you desire, you can declare support for Zaros. If you do so, I may have some jobs for you to do.
            • (Shows previous options)
        • Can you tell me about Zaros?
          • Soran, Emissary of Zaros: What do you want to know about Zaros?
            • Choose an option:
              • (Only if not asked last:)
                • Who is Zaros?
                  • Soran, Emissary of Zaros: Zaros is the Empty Lord. He is the master of fate and control; the one who watches over everything. He was the most powerful of the gods, but he was brought down by deceit, betrayed by his servants. But Zaros is far from dead. Even now he is watching you.
                  • (Shows previous options)
              • (Only if not asked last:)
                • Why should I follow Zaros?
                  • Soran, Emissary of Zaros: Zaros is the master of his domain. He watches over us all from the background. With Zaros as your master, you have a dauntless, all-knowing protector. His ways may not always be clear, but know that your part in his great plan is pre-ordained and essential.
                  • (Shows previous options)
              • (Only if not asked last:)
                • What does Zaros want?
                  • Soran, Emissary of Zaros: Who am I to say what Zaros wants? His goals are beyond my and your understanding. But know this: he does not seek petty revenge or endless war.
                  • (Shows previous options)
              • Talk about something else.

              • Soran, Emissary of Zaros: You are currently a follower of [faction], are you sure you wish to change?

                  • Soran, Emissary of Zaros: Perhaps I can teach you more about Zaros and you will change your mind?
                  • (Shows previous-to-previous options)
            • Soran, Emissary of Zaros: On behalf of Zaros’s followers, I welcome you. Please, take this banner to show your support. I have a gift for you: a book of stories regarding the gods and their followers. Please, read it. Hopefully you will see that even the other gods are but pawns in the Empty Lord’s great plan. The book is not yet complete, however. When you complete some jobs I will give you more pages.
            • The emissary gives you the Book of the Gods.
            • (Shows previous options)
        • (Only if aligned to Zaros:)

                • Soran, Emissary of Zaros: Rewards for your actions come in four parts - training, the banner, a book and a helmet.
                • Soran, Emissary of Zaros: When you complete a job for me, I will train you in a skill relevant to that job.
                • Soran, Emissary of Zaros: I will improve your banner every time you complete all the jobs in a particular category, giving it an ability that will aid you.
                • Soran, Emissary of Zaros: As you complete jobs for me, I will give you the Book of the Gods: a book of stories about the gods and their followers. Complete enough jobs, and I will give you the complete set of stories.
                • Soran, Emissary of Zaros: Finally, if you complete all the jobs, I will rewards you with a fine helmet which bears the symbol of Zaros.
                • Soran, Emissary of Zaros: I can also set your title at any time.

                      • (Shows previous-to-previous options)
                    • I don't want the title right now.
                      • (Shows previous-to-previous options)
                • (With title active:)
                  • Would you like to remove your title?
                    • I'd like to remove my title.
                      • Soran, Emissary of Zaros: I see. Well, I have removed your title.
                      • (Shows previous-to-previous options)

                        • Soran, Emissary of Zaros: I see you have lost your helmet. I can recover it, but it will cost you 80000 coins.
                        • Do want to pay?
                          • Yes
                            • Soran, Emissary of Zaros: Here. Take this helmet and wear it with pride!
                            • (Returns to the reward options.)
                          • No
                            • (Returns to the reward options.)
                    • (Only having lost the book:)
                      • I've lost the book you gave me.
                        • Soran, Emissary of Zaros: Here is your Book of the Gods.

                    • (Shows previous options)

          • I've lost the banner you gave me.
            • Soran, Emissary of Zaros: Please, take this banner to show your support.
            • (Shows previous options)
    • Archaeology collector.
      • Soran, Emissary of Zaros: Very well, then let us discuss archaeology.
      • Select an option
        • Who are you?
          • Soran, Emissary of Zaros: As you may or may not know, I am Soran, Emissary of Zaros.
          • Soran, Emissary of Zaros: I spread the word of the Empty Lord to all who would listen.
          • Player: Yeah, but, you're definitely just a powerful Zarosian lieutenant in disguise, right?
          • Soran, Emissary of Zaros: Not everything about Zaros is a mystery waiting to be solved. I am simply Soran.
          • Soran, Emissary of Zaros: And I most certainly do not represent a shadowy organisation pulling the strings of power across this world.
          • Player: Fair enough, I had to ask. It's happened to me a lot.
          • Player: Wait, I didn't even ask about shadowy organisations...
          • Soran, Emissary of Zaros: Given time, you would have.
          • (Shows previous options)
        • What are you collecting?
          • Soran, Emissary of Zaros: You may either see the list of what I require or we may discuss it.
          • What would you like to do?
            • View collections.
              • (Purple Stuff interface opens.)
            • Talk about collections.
              • Soran, Emissary of Zaros: I seek all that you might find at the buried fort of Kharid-et.
              • Player: That's easy to remember! I like when it's easy. You know who's managing that site, though, yes?
              • Soran, Emissary of Zaros: I do. And I do. 'Dr Nabanik' is playing his part. I hope that you will play yours also.
              • (Shows previous-to-previous options)
        • What are your collection rewards?
          • Soran, Emissary of Zaros: There is one relic I could give you that the monolith would wish to learn of.
          • Soran, Emissary of Zaros: Aside from that, I have some other more...interesting items.
          • (Before receiving the seal of the Praefectus Paetorio:)
            • Soran, Emissary of Zaros: I have a Seal of the Praefectus Praetorio. You may have it in exchange for completing the first of my collections.
            • Soran, Emissary of Zaros: It once belonged to a certain Mahjarrat whom I am sure we both know intimately. This relic will, shall we say, boost your reputation.
            • (Continues below)
          • (After receiving the seal of the Praefectus Paetorio:)
            • Soran, Emissary of Zaros: I hope the seal I handed to you is working out well. Those who deal in reputation will have no choice but to recognise your importance.
            • (Continues below)
          • Soran, Emissary of Zaros: For my second and third collections, I have come pylon batteries for you. You can use these at Kharid-et to power either the light or shield pylons, as it suits you.
          • Soran, Emissary of Zaros: And for my final collection, I have for you a piece of an inquisitor's staff...
          • Player: Ooh, what is that?
          • Soran, Emissary of Zaros: The inquisition was an offshoot of the empire's praetorian guard. It travelled the world seeking out powerful magical items to, ah, confiscate.
          • Soran, Emissary of Zaros: As such, the magical weapons they wielded were a step above. They were particular adept at punishing those silly enough to stand against them, shall we say, toe-to-toe.
          • Soran, Emissary of Zaros: And also, I shall trade you chronotes for all that you bring me.
          • (Shows previous options)
        • Bye.
        • Soran, Emissary of Zaros: See ya.

Tuska[edit | edit source]

  • (Not aligned with Zaros)
    • Player: Who are you?
    • Soran, Emissary of Zaros: I am called Soran. I am a faithful servant of the Empty Lord, who has sent me here to observe.
    • Continues with the same options
  • (Aligned with Zaros)
    • Player: Soran? What are you doing here?
    • Soran: At the Empty Lord's request, I am here to observe.
    • I'd like to support Zaros.
      • Player: I'd like to champion Zaros whilst I fight Tuska.
      • Soran, Emissary of Zaros: Your declaration is appreciated, but not applicable. Zaros is not involving himself in this conflict between lesser gods. Zaros is interested in the outcome, hence my presence. He sees no need to intervene however. The Empty Lord does not explain his motives to the likes of me, but I have no doubt that he has complete faith in the abilities of the world guardian.
    • What are you doing here?
      • Player: What are you doing here, Soran? Monitoring Tuska for Zaros?
      • Soran, Emissary of Zaros: To monitor Tuska, one need only look up. A telescope would be a convenience, but not a requisite. To visit Tuska herself, would be entirely unnecessary. No, I am not here to monitor that god.
        • But you are monitoring the other gods?
          • Soran's expression remains neutral as his head performs a motion that could be described as about a third of the way towards a nod. He gives no indication that this response is anything less than what you need.
        • But you are monitoring a god?
          • Soran, Emissary of Zaros: Not solely.
    • Will Zaros intervene if Tuska gets too close to Gielinor?
      • Player: Zaros wouldn't let Tuska hit Gielinor would he?
      • Soran, Emissary of Zaros: I am but a servant. I can not speak as to the specifics of what the Empty Lord will or will not do, only that he will protect his faithful.
    • What does Zaros think of our plan to weaken Tuska?
      • Player: Can you tell me what Zaros thinks of our plan to weaken Tuska?
      • Soran, Emissary of Zaros: I do not know that. I can tell you what I have observed. There is more to the gods than the champions here would have you know. By all means, allow them to save your world, but do consider the ramifications before you let them into your heart.

  • What would you like to talk about?
    • General Chat.
      • (See above)
    • A sight for Soran eyes.
      • Player: Would you be interested in a Zarosian insignia?
      • Soran, Emissary of Zaros: Of course. I've been collecting a wide assortment of ancient Zarosian novelties lately.
      • If the player doesn't have a Zarosian insignia in the inventory:
        • Player: I'll bring you one then.
      • If the player has a Zarosian insignia in the inventory:
        • Player has Zarosian insignia removed from them.
        • Player: Here you go.
        • Soran, Emissary of Zaros: A small but significant piece of Zarosian history. Thank you.
