Standard dialogue[edit | edit source]

  • Claim loot.

      • Solak: I have nothing for you...

  • Solak?
    • Player: Solak? Is that you? Are you free from Erethdor's influence?
    • Solak: Yes... I am finally myself again, albeit frailer than I used to be.
    • Merethiel: Oh Solak, what a relief! It fills me with joy to see you freed from my brother's corruption and hold. It is unforgivable what he did to you and the grove. Please, let me pledge my fealty to you and help you restore the grove while you heal.
    • Solak: Ah, Merethiel, what happened here was not your wrongdoing, the crimes of your blood are not your own.
    • Merethiel: I beg of you, let me help. My magic will help you and the grove heal once again.
      • Can I fight Solak?
        • Player: I agree. You should let her help. Think about the grove!
        • Solak: The grove needs to be restored. I agree that together, we could achieve more in a shorter time.
        • Merethiel: It would fill me with pride to help you, ancient one. I'm not driven by guilt for my brother's misdeeds, but I need a purpose. I am here already, so let me help, if you will?
        • Solak: So be it, young elf. I thank you for freeing me. And you and your valiant friends, human.
        • (Shows initial options.)
      • What happened?
        • Player: You're a strong independent tree, you don't need her!
        • Merethiel: How dare you speak to the ancient Guardian of the Grove like that? He might not 'need' me - but together we can help restore the grove faster. It would fill me with pride to help you, ancient one. I'm not driven by guilt for my brother's misdeeds, but I need a purpose. I am here already, so let me help, if you will?
        • Solak: So be it, young elf. I thank you for freeing me. And you and your valiant friends, human.
        • (Shows initial options.)
  • Why do you have a hole in your chest?
    • Player: Why do you have a hole in your chest?
    • Solak: When Erethdor came for the heart, he took me by surprise. He had quickly conjured a dark magic, a powerful blight that quickly burnt through my bark revealing the grove's greatest treasure. The grove contains a great many treasures, but it's[sic] greatest is the heart of the tree. A long long time ago, walkers much larger than I would roam the lands. Huge hulking beings. They were very few, so the stories say... When these creatures got old they'd lay down across valleys to die. Upon their death their bodies would become one with the land. They sprouted forests so vast even I would have trouble traversing. It was one of these very far away groves I went to hide the heart in. Rarely one of these groves will spawn trees like this one, its roots dig so deep they almost pierce the elder halls themselves, being this close to the planets[sic] core they soaked the anima for thousands of years. Eventually this tree will be so fed it will in a sense come to life, develop thoughts and can be communed with. With complete power over the land around them they shaped and carved it, the magic of this land led to an all manner of creatures being attracted whilst also spawning its own from the magical bark. Like the wisps you find floating around and the fairies... Though I believe they're simply fond of the mushrooms the land produces. Quaint little things.
