[00:09] BEHIND THE SCENES
- 173: THE MONTH AHEAD: DECEMBER
[00:11] Mod Mark couldn't make it this week, so Jagex has invited a suitable replacement for this week's Behind The Scenes.
[00:19] Hello, peeps!
[00:20] Once again I've been asked by the boys and girls at Jagex
[00:24] to read out this year's special Christmas Behind the Scenes.
[00:28] Ho ho ho and here we go!
[00:32] The big quest this month focuses on an old favourite, Tutorial Island.
[00:38] I'm sure that many of you, just like me, started your RuneScape career on that lonely island,
[00:44] killing rats and burning bread for its helpful residents.
[00:49] A few years ago, the island mysteriously vanished and Myrtle,
[00:54] a very good little girl from the Wizards Tower, is keen to find out why.
[00:59] In "Beneath Cursed Tides", you'll be searching for survivors and working with Vannaka,
[01:06] journeying to the bottom of the sea to investigate the island's watery fate.
[01:12] A dark tale awaits, although expect a journey full of teary nostalgia
[01:18] and classic humour. Splendid!
[01:22] Many thanks to Guitar Girl for suggesting it via RuneLabs
[01:26] and to the thousands of you that voted for it in the poll.
[01:31] That's not the only adventure on offer this month. Oh no.
[01:34] We've got an exciting four-part Christmas quest for you too.
[01:39] You'll gain access to one part a week as once again you save Christmas!
[01:44] Jack Frost and others have gone missing
[01:47] after popping off to investigate a strange iceberg covered in presents.
[01:53] Team up with your jolly snow imp pals to find them
[01:57] and unlock some temporary training areas as you do.
[02:00] I might even make an appearance myself. Hurrah!
[02:05] Talking of quests, I know that some of you have been talking about a trimmed quest cape for some time.
[02:12] And Santa loves to exceed your expectations,
[02:16] so you're getting something much better. How about a Master Quest Cape!
[02:22] You'll have to earn it, though. You'll need to complete every miniquest, every post-quest reward,
[02:27] unlock every journal page, all that wonderful extra story stuff that's in there in all those quests and lore.
[02:35] Every weekend throughout December and the Christmas period will be full of special events,
[02:40] offering you a sack load of special boosts and buffs.
[02:45] Just click on the snowman head in game to find out more.
[02:50] Christmas fun isn't restricted to the weekends, though. Oh no.
[02:54] Each day over December you'll be able to take part in a special advent calendar.
[03:00] And each gift relates to special prizes on Treasure Hunter that day!
[03:08] December sees the launch of the special Premier Club for 2016.
[03:13] A unique membership package that gives you big discounts to your yearly subscriptions
[03:18] and some fantastic rewards to use while playing.
[03:21] This year it's even bigger than normal
[03:24] to help RuneScape celebrate its amazing 15 year anniversary next year.
[03:31] There are auras that give you damage boosts and additional time at divine locations,
[03:36] exclusive weapon overrides based on the RuneScape logos from over the years,
[03:41] special Mahjarrat-themed armour, access to Premier Club only worlds,
[03:45] loyalty points, forums, raffles and all sorts of things.
[03:50] Make sure it's in your Christmas stocking this year.
[03:53] Merry Christmas to all of you. I hope it's everything you've ever dreamed of.
[03:59] And on behalf of the whole RuneScape team,
[04:03] have a fantastic holiday and a brilliant new year.
[04:07] Have fun. Wooters out.
[04:11] The Chronicle beta has gone live this week so do not forget to sign up to get your very own beta key.
[04:18] And the ninjas are here next week as we investigate where our festive friends have gone to in this year's Christmas event.
[04:36] And as a special treat for you, here's an excellent Christmas cracker joke.
[04:41] What do you get when you eat decorations at Christmas?
