Transcript of Raksha Observations
I have spent an inordinate amount of time in the south-eastern complex, in a monitoring chamber behind the Raksha's cell. This place has grown considerably since its first construction, to allow for installation of hibernation pods and this Kalistrak for monitoring.
Unfortunately, this has also drawing wider attention from the rest of the colony. After learning of dinosaurs under the tutelage of Kranon and Skeka, and by extension the death of Varanus, they are curious to see what we have contained here. For the sake of security, entry is not allowed - this is not some museum or petting zoo - but this does not discourage visitors.
Of most consternation is an influx of the youngest generation of Aughra. They visit the complex to show reverence...borderline idolatry, even. Their interest lies in the creature's ability to impose its thoughts on others. Indeed, even in forced hibernation, as it has been for many years now, its will still sometimes manages to overcome the dampening and reach out. The young Aughra have taken to standing around the feeding pit to experience these thoughts. Such thinking must be discouraged. The council must move to censure Skeka and this cult-like behaviour she is instilling in these young - for who else but her would be encouraging such free-thinking?
Still, I have found absorbing these thoughts myself to be quite revealing. It has taken me many nights sitting within the Raksha's chamber, and I believe I have made a discovery - why it is how it is. There is a repeating image I see now - a circle flanked by two triangles - which I believe to be the origin of this dinosaur's mutations, for I believe it was not always like this, and was at one time just a rex like any other.
This information could be just the breakthrough I have been looking for. If such a thing can turn an ordinary rex into the monster that is Raksha, just think what the keen intellect of a Dactyl scientist could achieve with such knowledge. I have made plans to travel to the mainland to the west to explore the Raksha's hunting grounds in search of this mysterious shape.
