Talking to Mr Mordaut[edit | edit source]
After discovering the mystery[edit | edit source]
- Player: I paid a visit to the team set up by the south-east temple. I tried one of the doors there, but heard a message in my head that entry was denied.
- Mr Mordaut: Indeed, this is in line with what my team there has reported. I can only advise you spend time elsewhere in Orthen's ruins - starting with the accessible crypt - and I am certain a solution shall present itself.
After entering the city[edit | edit source]
- Mr Mordaut: How fare things with the south-eastern temple?
- Player: Yes, well, right. It appears we've gained access to the eastern side of it and, well...it's not what we thought.
- Mr Mordaut: Please, do elaborate.
- Player: It's full of tiny buildings built entirely out of gold. It's more like someone has built a model village inside of it. The chamber looks distinctly dragonkin, but this little village...not so much.
- Mr Mordaut: My, my. How intriguing! Have you figured anything else out about it?
- Player: Not as of yet. I feel it might take me some time to uncover the mystery here, but I plan to experiment. In the meantime, there's plenty of excavating to be done!
After placing both artefacts in the Xolo city[edit | edit source]
- Mr Mordaut: Ah, my team from the south-eastern temple have reported back. We've dubbed the model village in there as Xolo City, based on findings both there and within the Moksha Ritual Site.
- Player: I placed a couple of artefacts found there - one atop the main pyramid, another on a nearby building.
- Mr Mordaut: And? What happened?
- Player: Some strange shadowy energy flew out from the top of the pyramid and absorbed into me.
- Mr Mordaut: Oh, my. That sounds serious.
- Player: I'm stumped as to what to do next.
- Mr Mordaut: See a doctor, perhaps? That does not sound healthy.
- Player: I meant about this mystery.
- Mr Mordaut: Hmm, I expect you shall figure it out eventually.
After completing the mystery[edit | edit source]
- Mr Mordaut: Did you manage to figure out what that shadowy energy you absorbed was or did?
- Player: Actually, yes. The next time I visited the mysterious monolith back at the Archaeology Guild, it felt like it went from me into it. It increased the total capacity of the monolith for my relic powers.
- Mr Mordaut: How incredibly odd...and intriguing. What connection could there possibly have been between a strange little city of gold NOT built by dragonkin and that mysterious monolith back at the campus?
- Player: I'm not convinced it is a direct connection. Perhaps there is something in the various journal pages I have discovered at Orthen that makes sense of it all...
Attempting to enter[edit | edit source]
Without a lingram stone[edit | edit source]
- Entry denied.
- (Without having the mystery uncovered:)
- Mystery Uncovered: 'Mysterious City'.

Placing artefacts[edit | edit source]
Inspecting the Xolo temple pyramid[edit | edit source]
- Player: Hmm, this looks somewhat familiar. It looks like something is missing from atop this pyramid.
- If the player has a restored gold dish in their inventory
- Player: In fact, this gold dish artefact looks like it might fit...
- Place gold dish atop pyramid?
- Yes.
- Player rapidly climbs the steps to the top of the pyramid and places the gold dish there, creating a Miniature Moksha device atop the pyramid
- Player: Okay, now what? That didn't seem to do anything.
- (Dialogue ends)
- No.
- Player: Maybe later.
- (Dialogue ends)
- Yes.
With the gold dish artefact already placed

- Some strange shadowy energy flies out from the top of the pyramid and absorbs into the player.
- Player: What was that? I feel...different. Still myself, though.
- (Dialogue ends)
- No.
