Museum guard at the entrance to the archaeological cleaning centre in the museum[edit | edit source]

  • Guard: Welcome! Would you like to go into the Dig Site archaeology cleaning area?
    • Select An Option
      • Yes, I'll go in!
        • (Dialogue ends)
      • No thanks, I'll take a look around out here.
        • Player: No thanks, I'll take a look around out here.

Museum guard at the exhibit of the Completionist cape on the top floor of the museum[edit | edit source]

To start the dialogue, the player has to investigate the mysterious cape

  • Museum guard: Hey! Get your hands off that! Don't you know not to touch items in a museum?
  • Player: Sorry, I just wondered what it was.
  • Museum guard: A good question. It's perhaps one of the more mysterious exhibits in this museum. It was only discovered recently, but our curators have dated it back almost as far as we can track. It turns out this cape might be the product, or at least involved with a Second Age mage by the name of Dahmaroc.
  • Player: Dahmaroc?
  • Museum guard: Indeed, you might have learned about him downstairs. He was a powerful mage back in the Second Age. Very skill-focused too, so this cape was a particular find.
  • Player: What do you mean by that?
  • Museum guard: Well, generally, his magical abilities were focused away from combat - it seems this cape is under the most powerful enchantment we've ever seen.
  • Player: This cape is enchanted?
  • Museum guard: Yes, and more than we can grasp. It physically repels anyone who tries to touch it. We had quite a hassle getting it up here.
  • Player: So no one has worn this cape?
  • Museum guard: No one can! It's like it has a mind of its own, judging those who try as unworthy!
  • What would you like to say?
    • Can I try?
      • Player: Can I try?
      • Some trigger
        • Museum guard: I said no touching...but, if you get close enough, I'm sure you'll see the enchantment's effects... Good luck!
          • The player has not completed all required achievements
            • The player gets too close, gets turned into a random animal, gets turned back into a human and gets pushed away from the mysterious cape.
            • You cannot equip this as you have not completed the Completionist achievement. Please check the Achievements tab to see what you have left to accomplish.
            • Museum guard: Looks like Dahmaroc had a sense of humour! Sorry, it doesn't look like you are worthy of this cape. At least not yet...
          • The player has completed all required achievements
            • The player touches the cape and performs an animation.
            • Museum guard: I've not seen a reaction like that! I think the cape is identifying its true owner.
            • Player: You mean I can have it?
            • Museum guard: Well, yes, but... I can't just let you take the exhibit. You may be the true owner, but it is one of the most treasured items we have here. I suppose if the museum were compensated, perhaps I could let you take it... How does 5,000,000 coins sound?
              • That sounds fair.
                • Player: That sounds fair.
                  • 5,000,000 coins have been removed from your money pouch.
                • Museum guard: Thanks, enjoy!
              • It sounds like a joke!
                • Player: It sounds like a joke!
                • Museum guard: So be it; the cape stays where it is.
                • (Dialogue ends)
      • Some other trigger
        • Museum guard: Of course!
        • (Same as above)
    • How interesting.
      • Player: How interesting.
      • Museum guard: Thanks for wasting my time.
      • (Dialogue ends)

Some other trigger while investigating the cape (perhaps having all the requirements already?)

  • Museum guard: Hey! Get your hands off that! Don't you know not to touch items in a museum? Sorry, I didn't mean offence, what would you like to know?
  • What would you like to ask?
    • What is this cape?
      • (Same as above)
    • Can I try and wear it?
      • Museum guard: Of course!
      • (Same as above)

If you already own the completionist cape and investigate the empty stand

  • The player has not completed all trimmed completionist achievements
    • Museum guard: Wow, Player. You're the owner of this legendary Cape! It's an honour to see you!
      • What is this cape?
        • (Same as above)
      • Can I try and wear it?
        • Museum guard: It seems like the Trimmed version of this cape isn't responding to you.
        • You must complete the Trimmed completionist cape achievements in order to unlock this capes cosmetic override and obtain the cape.
        • Museum guard: However I can sell you an identical copy of the Completionist cape if you'd like though?
        • Would you like to buy another completionist cape?
          • Yes
            • Museum guard:It'll cost you 5,000,000 coins for another one, as these aren't cheap to replicate.
            • Pay 5 000 000 coins for a completionist cape (hooded)?
              • Yes
                • 5,000,000 coins have been removed from your money pouch.
                • Museum guard: Thanks, the hood is detachable if you prefer them to be seperate. Hope you enjoy it!
              • No
                • (Transcript missing. edit)
          • No
            • (Transcript missing. edit)
  • The player has completed all trimmed completionist achievements
    • Museum guard: Wow, the owner of the legendary cape? Nice to see you back.
    • Player: Thanks.
    • Museum guard: Anything I can help you with now, Player?
    • Player: I don't know, is there?
      • Museum guard: I see you've surpassed what was required to obtain that cape I gave you, and it seems Dahmaroc foresaw this...
      • Museum guard: Wow, it worked! Enjoy!
      • News: Player has been awarded the trimmed Completionist Cape!

Museum guard at the museum's back entrance[edit | edit source]

  • Museum guard: Hello there. Come to see the new museum?
  • Player: Yes, how do I get in?
  • Museum guard: Well, the main entrance is 'round the front. Just head west then north slightly, you can't miss it!
  • Player: What about these doors?
  • Museum guard: They're primarily for the workmen bringing finds from the Dig Site, but you can go through if you want.
  • Player: Okay, thanks.

Museum guard at the path leading to the Digsite[edit | edit source]

  • Museum guard: Hello there! Sorry, I can't stop to talk. I'm supervising the workmen using this path. They do like to take breaks, you know.

Museum guard at Archaeology Campus[edit | edit source]

Before restoring the artefact in the Archaeology tutorial[edit | edit source]

  • Museum guard: You should talk to Acting Guildmaster Reiniger. As soon as you've restored an artefact, though, I'd be happy to discuss more with you.

After restoring the artefact in the Archaeology tutorial[edit | edit source]

  • Museum guard: Okay, so, the Varrock Museum is happy to take any and every restored artefact you obtain! Just put any that you want to trade in to use in a donation bin.
  • Museum guard: There's no limit to what we will take off your hands. We'll give you chronotes for every donation!
  • Museum guard: Sure, completing the collections of private collectors could perhaps be more lucrative, but they only ever want specific artefacts at any given time, depending upon what you're already contributed towards their collections.
  • Museum guard: Varrock Museum is always open for business!
