Starting[edit | edit source]

Attempting to teleport with the portal[edit | edit source]

  • Player: Huh, the portal just seemed to...bounce me off?
  • Mystery Uncovered: 'Leap of Faith'.
  • Gee'ka: That's odd. There must be something more to do before you can use the portal. Keep excavating or talk to me in a moment.

Trying the portal again without the Ikovian gerege[edit | edit source]

  • Player: It's still bouncing me off. I guess I haven't found whatever I need to make this work...

Trying the portal again with the Ikovian gerege in your inventory[edit | edit source]

  • Player: I've a feeling I'll be using this portal a lot, so I should add this Ikovian gerege to my tool belt.
  • Add Ikovian gerege to your tool belt?
    • Yes.
      • You add the Ikovian gerege to your tool belt.
      • Player teleports and arrives at Stormguard
      • (Continues below)
    • No.
      • (Dialogue ends)

Arriving at Stormguard[edit | edit source]

  • Player: Wow! I was not expecting this! This looks dangerous...

Traversing gaps[edit | edit source]

Attempting to traverse the gap the first time[edit | edit source]

  • Player: Nope! I am not jumping that! The fall would kill me if I failed. There must be some way across, though...

Attempting to traverse without boots again[edit | edit source]

  • Player: I think I've already established I'm not risking my neck jumping over here.

Discovering the boots while excavating[edit | edit source]

  • You find 1 x Boots of Flight.
  • Player: What are these boots I just discovered? They are light as a feather! I wonder...

Attempting to traverse with boots in inventory[edit | edit source]

  • Player: These Boots of Flight could well do the trick here, but if they work, I'll be needing them a lot, so I should add them to my tool belt.
  • Add Boots of Flight to your toolbelt?
    • Yes.
      • You add the boots of flight to your tool belt.
    • No.
      • (Dialogue ends)

Traversing the second gap[edit | edit source]

  • Player: It worked! Now to explore some more...
  • Congratulations! You have completed: 'Leap of Faith' - Solve this mystery.
  • You gain 9,300 Archaeology XP for completing a mystery!

Gee'ka[edit | edit source]

Talking to Gee'ka about this mystery[edit | edit source]

Before teleporting successfully with the Stormguard portal[edit | edit source]

  • Player: Gee'ka, I tried using this portal that's been uncovered, but it didn't work...
  • Gee'ka: Yes, it's been bugging me. It looks like a variant of the clan citadel portals. It should work! Unless...
  • Player: What? Unless what?
  • Gee'ka: Aha! Unless it has a built-in security feature. I recall my people have, in the past, issued passes as a sign of rank. They were hand-sized rectangular badges made of solid metal. you had to show them to gain access to certain places. I think they were called...gereges? Look around and see if you can find something like that, then try the portal again.

After teleporting successfully with the Stormguard portal, and not having attempted to traverse tha gap[edit | edit source]

  • Player: It worked! I restored an Ikovian gerege and stepped through the portal! It transported me to... Well, I assume to Stormguard Citadel, but I couldnt' see where it was flying above. It's completely surrounded by dark clouds.
  • Gee'ka: Hmm, that could perhaps be another security measure - forever cloaked in a storm cloud.
  • Player: I'm going to head back up and explore some more!

After attempting to traverse the gap, and not having found Boots of Flight[edit | edit source]

  • Player: I'm not sure how much I can explore up at Stormguard. Where I arrived was just a small piece of land.
  • Gee'ka: Can't you just fly? Oh, right, yeah. No wings.
  • Gee'ka: Well, maybe just jump? You're pretty agile, right?
  • Player: Er, I'm not risking that! Even if I was the best athlete in the world, I could still fail...and fall. I might not know exactly where in the world Stormguard is, but I imagine it's high up enough that it wouldn't matter.
  • Gee'ka: Fair point. Hmm, look, I do know that some humans made use of our citadels - those allied to Armadyl like the Ikovians. At least, if they had a pass, they must have been allies.
  • Gee'ka: Keep excavating up there where you can reach. I'm sure a solution will present itself.

After finding Boots of Flight, and not having solved the mystery[edit | edit source]

  • Player: So, I discovered something called Boots of Flight... I wonder if they'll help me cross from island to island up there.
  • (If the boots haven't been lost:)
    • Gee'ka: Boots of Flight, huh? I'll get the team to look for more. Feathers crossed that they work...
  • (If the boots have been lost:)
    • Gee'ka: I also know you lost them too... Here, have a replacement pair some other archaeologists discovered.
    • (Without space in backpack:)
      • Gee'ka: Oh, when you can take a pair, they'll be here for you.
    • (With space in backpack:)
      • Take Boots of Flight from Gee'ka?
        • Yes.
          • Player receives Boots of Flight.
          • Player: Maybe I should just add them to my tool belt for safekeeping...
          • Gee'ka: Maybe...
          • (Continues with non-mystery-specific dialogue.)
        • No.
          • (Dialogue ends)

After solving the mystery[edit | edit source]

  • Player: I used Boots of Flight to walk on air! I made it one of the[sic] larger islands up there!
  • Gee'ka: Walk on air? Really? That was brave of you to even attempt! I'd have only tested out boots like that because I have wings.
  • Player: Oh...I didn't even think about it, I just took a leap of faith, and hey, it worked. They were called Boots of Flight, after all.
  • Player: Still, they only let me cross small gaps, and there is a LOT of open sky up there.
