Transcript of Atonement
Exile's vow[edit | edit source]
My eyes are open. The Ikovians have shown me the error of my ways.
I was sent here to scout this world for my house, for the future glory of Teragard. To test the locals' martial prowess. This task would raise my awareness with Jeconiah. My success on this mission would have made me Incandescent. This will no longer happen. My future now takes me elsewhere.
I shall not recount the events that led up to the tragedy, only that I blame myself. Innocent people died. Children died. If I had committed such a trespass back on Teragard, I would have, at best, been exiled through the Schism. Well, I am already through it, so I shall punish myself by remaining here in a self-imposed exile. I shall stand vigil in this place and protect those I have wronged for as long as I am able.
The Ikovians do not blame me directly, and their words have moved me in ways I had not thought possible, especially from a people who I had always been taught were inferior. They have, in mere days, eroded long-held beliefs of this place, these people. I see through that propaganda now, the falsehoods of my youthful learnings. Yet I shall stand apart from them out of respect; I do not deserve such easy forgiveness from them. Only through action can I seek to atone for my sins.-Leka, Fire Warrior of Lesarkus
