In the tent[edit | edit source]

  • Researcher (2): To think, we'll finally get this place up and running!
  • Researcher (2): Imagine all the things we'll discover.
  • Researcher (2): The lost treasures, the forgotten secrets.
  • Researcher (1): The clay pots.
  • Researcher (2): What?
  • Researcher (1): Archaeology is about ninety percent clay pots.
  • Researcher (2): Well, still, ancient clay pots. A glimpse into the past.
  • Researcher (1): A past of pottery.
  • Researcher (2): You're really ruining my buzz Steve.

Upstairs of Archaeology Guild with Associate Reiniger[edit | edit source]

  • Guildmaster Tony: Look at this place. We really should get it cleaned up.
  • Associate Reiniger: Why the sudden concern? It's been like this for ages.
  • Guildmaster Tony: I'm finally hearing movement from the museum.
  • Guildmaster Tony: We've nearly got the full backing and funding.
  • Guildmaster Tony: In a matter of days you and I will be standing in the new Archaeology Guild!
  • Associate Reiniger: Can't we use some of that money to get someone tidying this place for us?
  • Associate Reiniger: Or, and I'm just saying, we do have interns.
  • Guildmaster Tony: Hmm, yes, you do have a good point there.

Upstairs of Archaeology Guild alone[edit | edit source]

  • Guildmaster Tony: Hmm. This isn't nearly enough.
  • Guildmaster Tony: Not nearly enough.
  • Guildmaster Tony: What is the museum thinking?
  • Guildmaster Tony: That we can unearth an entire city, with what?
  • Guildmaster Tony: Three interns and some rusty trowels?
  • Guildmaster Tony: No, this won't do this just won't do.
  • Guildmaster Tony: Hrmmm...

19 March 2020[edit | edit source]

At the mysterious monolith alone[edit | edit source]

  • Guildmaster Tony: What are you?
  • Guildmaster Tony: You don't look Zarosian. Nor Saradomin era.
  • Guildmaster Tony: But you're clearly something special.
  • Guildmaster Tony: Something powerful.
  • Guildmaster Tony: So what are you?
  • Guildmaster Tony: The shrine of a forgotten god?
  • Guildmaster Tony: A fragment of an ancient wonder?
  • Guildmaster Tony: Hrmmm.

At the mysterious monolith with researchers[edit | edit source]

  • Researcher 2: Perhaps it's an ancient example of a summoning obelisk?
  • Researcher 3: Don't be stupid. It's clearly some sort of prayer altar.
  • Guildmaster Tony: I've ruled out both of those.
  • Guildmaster Tony: No, no, whatever this is. It serves a quite different purpose.
  • Guildmaster Tony: I just wish I knew what.

Finding the sword at the level 1 dig site[edit | edit source]

  • Researcher 2: Hrmm
  • Researcher 2: Wait...
  • Researcher 2: Is this...
  • Researcher 2: IT IS!
  • Researcher 2: An ancient, centurion's dress sword!
  • Researcher 2: An artefact from the second age of the world.
  • Researcher 2: It's in surprisingly good condition considering.
  • Researcher 2: It's damaged. Blade is rusty and the handle cracked. But unmistakable for what it is.
  • Researcher 2: I wonder what events this bore witness to.
  • Researcher 2: The history.
  • Researcher 2: The sights you must have seen.

Finding imperial iron at the level 1 dig site[edit | edit source]

  • Researcher 3: Oh wow!
  • Researcher 3: They just don't make stuff like this anymore.
  • Researcher 3: Imperial iron.
  • Researcher 3: Possibly what's left of a shield.
  • Researcher 3: Or a helmet.
  • Researcher 2: I wonder if this sword is made out of the same stuff.
  • Researcher 3: What do you mean?
  • Researcher 2: Nothing, nothing. Just a pipe dream.

Finding purpleheart wood at the level 1 dig site[edit | edit source]

  • Researcher 1: What's this? Driftwood?
  • Researcher 1: Oooh no. It's preserved purpleheart wood!
  • Researcher 1: They used to use this in the empire for ceremonial items.
  • Researcher 2: Hey! You've got authentic purpleheart wood and Henry here's got some imperial iron?
  • Researcher 3: Yeah I've found a few pieces of imperial iron. Why?
  • Researcher 2: I think we might be able to fix up this centurion dress sword.
  • Researcher 2: With your materials, we could shore up some of the damage and make it museum worthy.
  • Researcher 3: That would be amazing!
  • Researcher 1: Let me get this purpleheart wood together and I'll bring it over.
  • Researcher 3: We're going to be famous!

21 March 2020[edit | edit source]

In Archaeology Guild with researchers[edit | edit source]

  • Guildmaster Tony: What's that? Is that?
  • Researcher 2: It's a centurion dress sword.
  • Researcher 3: We've restored it.
  • Researcher 1: We found materials around the area that are perfect for it.
  • Guildmaster Tony: It looks practically new.
  • Guildmaster Tony: This might be exactly the sort of evidence we need to get a real operation going.
  • Guildmaster Tony: Give it to me, I'll get it to the museum.

In Varrock Museum with Museum Accountant[edit | edit source]

  • Guildmaster Tony: Ah hello Douglas, it's good to see you.
  • Museum Accountant: Always a pleasure Tony. What draws you from your dig?
  • Guildmaster Tony: This! Look, a centurion's dress sword, perfectly restored.
  • Museum Accountant: My that is quite something. A miraculous find!
  • Guildmaster Tony: I'm sure it's not the only treasure buried there.
  • Guildmaster Tony: With a bigger team and better funding, imagine the wonders we could uncover!
  • Museum Accountant: More funding?
  • Museum Accountant: I'm sorry Tony, but we really can't afford more funding. Even for finds like these.
  • Guildmaster Tony: That's Senntisten down there. The heart of the empire!
  • Guildmaster Tony: Who knows what we might uncover?
  • Museum Accountant: That's a lovely dream Tony. But we just can't afford it. Not right now.
  • Museum Accountant: We're not made of money Tony. There are other expenses that must be covered.
  • Museum Accountant: I'm sorry, I really am. But my hands are tied.
  • Guildmaster Tony: You're making a mistake Douglas. A terrible mistake.

In the panning area[edit | edit source]

  • Guildmaster Tony: Shortsighted hacks.
  • Guildmaster Tony: I really thought the sword would win them over.
  • Guildmaster Tony: I don't know how I can make this work.
  • Guildmaster Tony: I suppose we could cut corners...
  • Guildmaster Tony: Use students and interns for the busy work.
  • Guildmaster Tony: Perhaps I can persuade some local goblins to work for us.
  • Guildmaster Tony: No, that's insane.
  • Guildmaster Tony: Unless...
  • Guildmaster Tony: No, that is definitely insane.

22 March 2020[edit | edit source]

Upstairs of the guild alone with mysterious stranger eavesdropping[edit | edit source]

  • Guildmaster Tony: I suppose we could cut some of the digs over in this quadrant...
  • Guildmaster Tony: No. we can't miss out on what that might unearth.
  • Guildmaster Tony: But there's just not enough money to handle everything.
  • Guildmaster Tony: I wonder if I can persuade the interns to work for less.
  • Guildmaster Tony: No. I don't think even I can spin that.
  • Guildmaster Tony: Whatever cuts I make is going to cost us so many discoveries.
  • Guildmaster Tony: So much history just thrown away for a few gold coins.

Upstairs of the guild with mysterious stranger[edit | edit source]

  • Guildmaster Tony: *Sigh*
  • Mysterious stranger: Forgive the interruption, but I'm afraid I couldn't help but overhear.
  • Mysterious stranger: It seems you are in a bit of a financial bind at the moment.
  • Mysterious stranger: It appears I may be able to assist there.
  • Guildmaster Tony: I'm sorry, who are you?
  • Mysterious stranger: Call me... Xephos.
  • Mysterious stranger: I wonder if you might be interested in some financial aid?
  • Guildmaster Tony: I'm sorry?
  • Mysterious stranger: Your expedition, We'd like to finance it.
  • Guildmaster Tony: Who's we?
  • Mysterious stranger: We prefer to remain anonymous for now.
  • Mysterious stranger: We find it easier to work that way.
  • Mysterious stranger: What matters is that you need money and we can provide it.
  • Guildmaster Tony: Just like that?
  • Mysterious stranger: Well we do expect something in return.
  • Mysterious stranger: Don't worry, nothing nefarious.
  • Mysterious stranger: Just a few artefacts and historical items for our own collections.
  • Mysterious stranger: And I assure you that what we do, we do for the greater good.
  • Guildmaster Tony: And in exchange you'll give me the funding we need to get this operation underway?
  • Mysterious stranger: That and more. Why you'll be able to fund a fully operational Guild of Archaeology.
  • Guildmaster Tony: ...
  • Guildmaster Tony: You have a deal.

23 March 2020[edit | edit source]

Downstairs of the guild with Associate Reiniger[edit | edit source]

  • Associate Reiniger: We're really starting to get popular.
  • Associate Reiniger: This whole guild thing is looking more like a reality.
  • Associate Reiniger: It's the lure of history. It's inescapable.
  • Guildmaster Tony: That and the increased funding. That helps.
  • Associate Reiniger: True, people do generally like getting paid.
  • Associate Reiniger: But mostly the history.
  • Guildmaster Tony: Oh yes, quite.
  • Associate Reiniger: But look at them, do we really need that many just for here?
  • Guildmaster Tony: I've been thinking about that.
  • Guildmaster Tony: I think we likely have enough interest that we can expand.
  • Guildmaster Tony: There's been some interesting discoveries over in Morytania for example.
  • Guildmaster Tony: Perhaps we should get a dig starter there as well?

Outside the guild with Soran, Emissary of Zaros and Velucia[edit | edit source]

  • Guildmaster Tony: You don't look like researchers?
  • Soran, Emissary of Zaros: Correct.
  • Velucia: No. We're collectors. We've heard about your discoveries.
  • Velucia: And we want to offer to take some of them off your hands.
  • Soran, Emissary of Zaros: Yes. My lord, Zaros, has a need of these artefacts.
  • Velucia: I'm here on behalf of the museum.
  • Velucia: Save you a trip back there.
  • Velucia: Just anything you want to donate to the museum collection.
  • Velucia: I'm your girl!
  • Guildmaster Tony: I see. Well we have nothing just yet, early days of course.
  • Soran, Emissary of Zaros: Yes.
  • Guildmaster Tony: But I expect we'll find a veritable treasure trove of historical artefacts down there.

24 March 2020[edit | edit source]

In the tent[edit | edit source]

  • Researcher (2): Did you hear? Something weird is going on at some of the potential sites.
  • Researcher (3): What are you talking about?
  • Researcher (2): Strange disturbances. Deja vu, that sort of thing.
  • Researcher (1): Oh come on. Everyone gets creeped out dealing with old tombs and stuff.
  • Researcher (1): They keep convincing themselves it's cursed or something.
  • Researcher (3): Probably is to be fair.
  • Researcher (1): There is an abundance of curses these days.
  • Researcher (2): I dunno, sounds like something odd is happening.

At the monolith[edit | edit source]

  • Isaura: What is a white knight doing at an archaeological dig?
  • Isaura: Don't you just don't cover up the bits you don't like?
  • Lowse: Let us not turn this dig site into a battlefield.
  • Lowse: I imagine there is plenty of history for all of us.
  • Sir Atcha: Indeed. By all means collect as much of the Zamorakian nonsense as you want.
  • Sir Atcha: It's of no more value to me than the dirt it's buried beneath.
  • Isaura: Of course not you arrogant pig, why would the history of other cultures matter?
  • Isaura: You might learn something new and then where would you be?
  • Lowse: Well I for one am excited to see what discoveries they'll uncover.

25 March 2020[edit | edit source]

Behind the Jolly Boar Inn[edit | edit source]

  • Movario: Hrmmm, was it around here?
  • Movario: That feels right...yes...beneath us perhaps?
  • Movario: Was it here Duchess? Was this where you had your little lodge?
  • Movario: I'll bring the archaeologists here. It's about time we dug up your secrets.

East of Meiyerditch[edit | edit source]

  • Efaritay: *Sigh*
  • Vanescula Drakan: Oh what is it now?
  • Vanescula Drakan: You icyene are all so emotional.
  • Efaritay: carries so many memories.
  • Vanescula Drakan: So does my castle and you don't see me staring wistfully at it all day.
  • Efaritay: That's not the same and you know it.
  • Efaritay: Once it meant so much that light.
  • Efaritay: But now it's just too bright...too bright.

In the South Feldip Hills[edit | edit source]

  • Zanik: Why here?
  • Zanik: Why is this place important?
  • Zanik: I can hear the dead, whispering here. But why?
  • Zanik: Something is buried here, beneath the earth.
  • Zanik: Perhaps I should get those archaeologists involved.

At the Varrock Dig Site[edit | edit source]

  • (Cutscene begins)
  • Zaros teleports into the Dig Site next to the mysterious monolith. He raises it up and imbues it with power, activating it.
  • Guildmaster Tony and Dr. Nabanik approach the monolith from the other side.
  • Zaros: Curious.
  • Zaros: Stay back.
  • Guildmaster Tony: By the gods.
  • Dr Nabanik: Zaros, what are you doing here?
  • Zaros teleports away.
  • Guildmaster Tony: He raised it... He actually raised it.
  • Dr Nabanik: Willingly it seems.
  • Guildmaster Tony: I've spent so long reasearching this and now it stands erect before my very eyes.
  • Guildmaster Tony: And to be graced by the presence of Zaros, especially above the site of Senntisten...
  • (Cutscene ends)

By the mysterious monolith[edit | edit source]

  • Guildmaster Tony: Look at it! It's amazing.
  • Guildmaster Tony: What is it?
  • Associate Reiniger: I dread to think... did you see who raised it?
  • Guildmaster Tony: Of course I saw who raised it! How could I miss that?
  • Associate Reiniger: He raised it and then he just teleported away.
  • Guildmaster Tony: Well, we cannot really claim to fathom the incomprehensible nature of the gods can we?
  • Associate Reiniger: I suppose not. But it's active now.
  • Guildmaster Tony: Yes...and doing what?
  • Guildmaster Tony: I must investigate this.
  • Guildmaster Tony: This could be the greatest find in... in.... well, history!

26 March 2020[edit | edit source]

Upstairs of the guild[edit | edit source]

  • (One of the following is shown randomly:)
    • Guildmaster Tony: Hrmm
    • Guildmaster Tony: Perhaps there's something in one of my books...
    • Guildmaster Tony: What does it do?
    • Guildmaster Tony: What is it

27 March 2020[edit | edit source]

Next to the monolith[edit | edit source]

  • (One of the following is shown randomly:)
    • Guildmaster Tony: Hrmm
    • Guildmaster Tony: Maybe this artefact?
    • Guildmaster Tony: Perhaps if I use the centurion dress sword on it?
    • Guildmaster Tony: What is it

29 March 2020[edit | edit source]

Upstairs of the guild[edit | edit source]

  • Xephos: That monolith, it's really quite something isn't it.
  • Guildmaster Tony: Oh yes. It's marvelous.
  • Guildmaster Tony: It feels as though there's more to it. As if it's a lock waiting for a key.
  • Xephos: Have you been testing it with any of the artefacts?
  • Guildmaster Tony: Yes, but none seem to have any sort of impact.
  • Guildmaster Tony: I suspect it's looking for something more specific.
  • Xephos: I wonder if we might be able to help there.
  • Xephos: In our own studies we came across this ancient relic.
  • Xephos: It's a black stone that was once possessed by the mahjarrat Zemouregal.
  • Xephos: It's inert but our mages are convinced there is potential there.
  • Xephos: Perhaps this is the right place for it to be used?
  • Guildmaster Tony: Perhaps, perhaps.
  • Guildmaster Tony: I'll need to do some investigation, certainly.
  • Guildmaster Tony: But come 10 O'clock tomorrow, I shall have to see what happens.
