First conversation[edit | edit source]

  • Acca Kanatah: Ah, another human! Let me get a good look at you.
  • The Goebie cranes its neck to look up at you from under the heavy rock on its back.
  • Acca Kanatah: My, my... What a strange race you are. So tall and soft. Yet you present yourselves as our saviours.
  • Select an option
    • Yes, I am your saviour.
      • Player: Yes, I am Player. The saviour of your down-trodden race!
      • (Continues below.)
    • I've simply come to help.
      • Player: I am Player. I have come to offer my help, if you need it.
      • (Continues below.)
    • I am not your saviour.
      • Player: I am no saviour, I am Player. I come to your planet in search of its treasure.
      • (Continues below.)
  • Acca Kanatah: Hm, is that so? Well, Player, we have much to discuss. I am the Acca of Kanatah, the wisest of this village. I can see you have questions, let us converse.
  • (Continues below.)

Subsequent conversations[edit | edit source]

  • Acca Kanatah: Is there something you wish to discuss, human?
  • Choose an option:
    • Ask about the people of Kanatah.
      • Select an option
        • What's an Acca?
          • Acca Kanatah: You are not accustomed to this title? It is reserved for only one in each of our villages, yes. The Acca is the wisest of all the Goebies who live there, and above all, has the greatest rock upon their back. It is the Acca's burden not only to bear the weight of their own rock, but also those of all the Goebies who follow them. That burden is mine, human. These young Goebies look to me to take care of them. Such is my duty.
        • Where are these Goebies from?
          • Acca Kanatah: The Goebies you see around this camp are some of the bravest you will find. Mm, most of them have lost loved ones, some are even orphans. Yet they share one thing in common, human. They have each stood up to the Airut. Defying their captors and risking death for a more meaningful existence. Most of us came from the Airut territory to the north, but this camp is our home now, yes. Kanatah stands as a message that those beasts do not own us.
          • (Shows the previous options.)
        • I'd like to talk about something else.
          • (Shows the initial options.)
    • Ask about places.
      • Choose an option:
        • Ask about Kanatah.
          • Acca Kanatah: This camp is Kanatah. It may not look like much, but it is our home. We chose to build it here, right under the Airut's noses, ha! Those base-minded animals harry us day and night, hmm. They may be strong but they underestimate us, and we have been learning their patterns. When they come we hide among the rocks or evacuate to the south, then move back in when they have had their fill of destruction. True, the camp has to be rebuilt regularly, but their frustration is greatly pleasing to us.
          • (Shows the previous options.)
        • Ask about Mazcab.
          • Acca Kanatah: You wish to know more of our broken home? I am unsure why you have even ventured here, Player. You come in search of treasures and power, but you will find only death and desolation. Hmm... Perhaps you could succeed where our greatest warriors have failed and defeat the monsters that lie within our old city.
          • (Shows the previous options.)
        • Ask about other places.
          • Acca Kanatah: I know little about what remains of our old civilisation. A life of captivity has deprived me of such knowledge. We sometimes find wreckages on the beach to the east, though. I suspect that other camps like ours existed, but they did not survive long.
          • (Shows the previous options.)
        • I'd like to talk about something else.
          • (Shows the initial options.)
    • Ask about the past.
      • Choose an option:
        • Ask about Tuska.
          • Acca Kanatah: Many years ago the great beast known as Tuska came from the sky and tore this world asunder. The Goebies here know only what the Airut have told them. That Tuska devoured the guardian spirits and temples that gave us power. But I know the truth, human. Tuska was a destroyer spirit, sent to punish us for using their power. The other spirits hid from her, but they are still here, friend. I will teach the others to commune with them as our ancestors once did.
          • Select an option
            • Tell Acca Kanatah about defeating Tuska.
              • Player: Tuska came to our home planet as well. We were able to defeat her, but it required the might of thousands of champions and even the help of gods.
              • Acca Kanatah: You defeated the destroyer spirit? I... I can hardly believe it, Player. I have not heard of these 'gods' you speak of, but they must command the power of many great spirits.
              • (Shows the previous-to-previous options.)
            • Talk about something else.
              • (Shows the previous-to-previous options.)
        • Ask about the Airut.
          • Acca Kanatah: Pah, the Airut, they are mindless beasts! I learned plenty about them in captivity. They claim their ancestors rode Tuska, using her spines to steer her between planets and wreak havoc as they went. Sometimes they fight over whose ancestors took the helm and directed Tuska by her very tusks! Haha, the fools! In reality they are nothing but pests. Tuska shook them from her back as we shake lizards from our rocks.
          • (Shows the previous options.)
        • I'd like to talk about something else
          • (Shows the initial options.)
    • What do your people think of me?
    • Goodbye.
      • (Dialogue ends.)

Offering a relic[edit | edit source]

  • Acca Kanatah: Is there something you wish to discuss, human?
    • I found this relic...
      • Acca Kanatah: Those relics are of great cultural significance to my people. I can't afford to pay you for them, but if you were willing to part with them, I'd ensure that goebies everywhere knew that we were indebted to you.
        • If you hand over your relics, you will gain X reputation with the goebies.
        • Trade your X relics for X reputation?
          • Yes.
            • Acca Kanatah: Thank you human. From all goebies, thank you.
          • No.
            • Acca Kanatah: Very well human. I wish I could compensate you adequately.

Using a A 'Durzag & Goebbana' catalogue on Acca Kanatah[edit | edit source]

  • Acca Kanatah: Ah you found it! I have been seeking this for some time, Player.
  • Acca Kanatah: Finally, I can order the newest rock covering that I have been longing for. Embroidered with the finest Mazcab silk, finished with eeligator saliva - it is truly the greatest accessory any goebie should ever need.
  • Player: So... do I get anything as a reward? Will you be telling all of the goebies of my heroic deed on this day?
  • Acca Kanatah: Absolutely not, human! No-one can know that an Acca wears Durzag and Goebbana, no matter how high quality and reasonably priced their fashion is. This must stay between you and me, <player name>[sic]
  • Player: Not even a single goebie?
  • Acca Kanatah: No!
  • Player: Kanatah's secret, it does have a certain ring to it.
