Third age prayer set detail.png

Third age prayer set is an item obtained by exchanging a set of items with a Grand Exchange clerk via their right-click "Sets" option and clicking on the appropriate item set within the Item Sets interface. Sets are commonly used to reduce the amount of bank space taken up; it is currently the most expensive third-age set.

A livestream with Mod Simon and James revealed the mechanics of Treasure Trail rewards in detail[1], meaning the actual chances could be calculated: approximately 1 in 37,128 per item roll for any of the 5 parts of third-age druidic, or approximately 1 in 185,640 for a specific part, per item roll - with an average of 5 item rewards per Trail, this gives approximately 1 in 7,426 for any part, or 1 in 37,128 for a specific part, per Trail completed. For a more detailed breakdown of drop mechanics and calculations, see Treasure Trails/Rewards#Elite.

Update history[edit | edit source]

The update history project is a work-in-progress – not all updates to this topic may be covered below. See here for how to help out!
  • patch 18 October 2010 (Update):
    • Removed mention of the staff from the Third Age druidic set's Grand Exchange description, as it wasn't part of the set.

Trivia[edit | edit source]

  • On the day of release, the whole set cost 245 million coins, 220 million if purchased as a Grand Exchange set.
  • This is the first Third-age armour set which includes five items. The Third-Age Melee/Range/Magic sets all have four items.
  • Contrary to popular belief, the third-age prayer set is a magic set and does not offer hybrid defences. It can be functionally equated to an expanded version of the third-age magic set with reduced defences to accommodate for the addition of a prayer bonus. However, the set is mainly worn or keepsaked for aesthetic purposes as a demonstration of considerable wealth.
