FAQ • doc |
The Measure is an elder artefact. It was created by the Elder Gods to check for anima levels[1] to ensure a world has enough anima to sustain the Elder Halls. It is considered to be the least powerful and extraordinary of the twelve Elder Artefacts.
If destroyed, the Measure can be reclaimed from the Elder Halls using the World Gate to Freneskae.
Obtaining it[edit | edit source]
- Complete the Fate of the Gods quest
- Use the sixth-age circuit to teleport you to the World Gate
- Right click the world gate and select Quick dial, and select Freneskae
- Enter the world gate and select Elder Halls
- The Measure should be on the ground near the divination wisps
The Measure will not show up on the ground within the Elder Halls when using the colony teleport function of the Elder divination outfit to travel there.
Fate of The Gods[edit | edit source]
The Measure is first found during the Fate of the Gods quest in the Elder Halls of Freneskae, and is used to help in the plan to create a new body for Zaros. Once placed on the ground while in Freneskae's Elder halls, it will turn all faint Mah wisps into solid Mah wisps, allowing their energy and memories to be collected. After Zaros is restored, the Measure remains in the World Guardian's possession.
Desperate Measures[edit | edit source]
During the Desperate Measures quest, the Measure is used near Charos in four different locations surrounding Anachronia's volcano which have a strong magical resonance. By tracking the frequencies of the cosmic energies in these locations, Charos is able to work out a counter-frequency capable of neutralising the cosmic harmony of the door to Kerapac's laboratory, allowing the World Guardian to enter.
Extinction[edit | edit source]
When the player searches for Seren's location, during the Extinction quest, the Measure is given to Vicendithas in order to craft a device able to measure the ambient anima of a planet's runescape. Upon use, he finds that Gielinor's runescape is normal, indicating that Seren took the eggs elsewhere.
Elder Chronicles[edit | edit source]
Placing The Measure at specific locations across Gielinor will spawn an elder chronicle, indicating the presence of an Elder God. Collecting one gives 50,000 Divination experience and there are four in total, adding up to 200,000 experience.
Places where the Measure can be placed to spawn an elder chronicle:
- Wen: Ice Mountain near the Oracle
- Ful: Tzhaar City entrance on Karamja volcano
- Bik: Entrana near the Submerged Statue on the northwest corner
- Jas: Archeologist's camp at Ullek, short-cut east of Agility Pyramid
Collecting all four elder chronicles awards the achievement Measure of Old, which is a requirement for the master quest cape.
Update history[edit | edit source]
Trivia[edit | edit source]
- When placed, it appears as a yellow dot on the minimap.
- When used on Seren in the Tower of Voices she will remark, "That...that is one of their instruments. It should not be in the hands of a mortal."
- No gods are known to have used the Measure to ascend or bolster their power.
