Tetsu katana detail.png

A tetsu katana is an untradeable level 85 Attack main hand melee weapon made in the Player-owned ports minigame. It is the main hand counterpart to the tetsu wakizashi. It can be made in a port workshop using 100 plate, 50 pearls and 1 tengu tsuba, requiring 92 Smithing (non-boostable) and all four parts of the "tetsu swords" eastern scroll. Making one grants 30,000 Smithing and 5,000 Crafting experience.

The tetsu katana will degrade after 60,000 charges of combat (but loses 2 charges per hit, so has a minimum duration of 5 hours of combat). It can be fixed by Repair NPCs such as Bob in Lumbridge, or at an armour stand in a player-owned house.

A full repair costs:

It can also be upgraded to Elite tetsu katana using a Tetsu sword upgrade kit and 10 plate.

Upon death, this item will appear under your gravestone and if killed in wilderness it will turn into 2,500,000 coins for the killing player regardless of charge.

Repair cost[edit | edit source]

This item costs at most 2,500,000 coins to repair completely. The repair cost is precisely calculated by the degradation percentage (i.e. with 75% charge remaining, a full repair would only cost 625,000 coins). It may be repaired through a variety of methods.

NPCs[edit source]

These methods cost more as they do not consider player's Smithing level for a repair discount.

Improved methods[edit source]

These methods provide a repair cost discount of 0.5% per Smithing level (including boosts).
