Should we have another row for which type of magic - Normal, Ancient or Lunar - is used?  —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Vimescarrot (talk).

Yes, I think a spellbook row would be useful. -- Couchpotato99 01:53, 1 August 2006 (UTC)
New one: spell image? for the image found in the spellbook, not what the spell loks like when cast. The image-when-cast image can be put into the article outside of the infobox if desired :) JalYt-Xil-Vimescarrot 19:58, 17 September 2006 (UTC)
Sounds like a good idea; I'm going to start gathering the images in preperation. -- Couchpotato99 (talk) (contribs) 21:52, 17 September 2006 (UTC)
I have all the images for standard spells. I'm gonna start uploading them; speak now or forever hold your peace! (just thought I'd give a heads up before I flood recent changes with 62 image uploads) -- Couchpotato99 (talk) (contribs) 23:57, 17 September 2006 (UTC)

Idea for new section, just to see if it would work well[edit source]

I've been looking into this for a while. Since we do have the GE prices built into many of our pages, maybe we could add a new section that was designed to find the cost of the spell given the requirements. That could easily help out in the wiki in general, for then for each spell we don't have to type out the entire set of runes for each spell every time we want to get the cost, we just need to type something like {{Wind Strike|monetary cost}}, and it would return the cost in GP to cast the spell.

Any thoughts? Eternalsage0 16:20, 9 November 2008 (UTC)

New row: max hit[edit source]

Here's an idea: A row showing the NORMAL max hit of the spell (without any potions/prayer). I would do it if I knew how to Lol All the magic spell pages are cluttered and it is annoying having to scan the pages. LordDarkPhantom 17:32, June 29, 2010 (UTC)

Spell Costs to Images[edit source]

I propose that instead of saying for example "2 Air runes" in the spell cost, we say "Air rune.pngx2" (20 pixel image size). Visual components are easier on the eyes to see exactly what is needed. Just make the rune picture link to that rune's page. The code could be something like: [[File:Air rune.png|20px|link=Air Rune]]x2 giving Air rune.pngx2. An example is found on the Earth Strike page.

I have done a test of this here, but with larger icons, so probably won't be liked... However, it does incorporate GE prices as in {{Template:Spell cost table}} which would be advantageous, I believe.
If my work meets with approval, or someone can suggest a(n easy) way to change the icon sizes so that it does meet with approval, I'd appreciate some feedback so that I can update the template and pages. --   For Camelot!  Zang! talk  My health! 14:07, June 8, 2011 (UTC)
Update: OK, I'm on my way to figuring out how to do this properly, partly thanks to the fact that someone has already done this. Just not on the pages I looked at... And that solution doesn't produce the actual cost in coins. So, maybe I'll have this tomorrow... --   For Camelot!  Zang! talk  My health! 19:14, June 8, 2011 (UTC)

Aligning[edit source]

Currently the runes (used) line is set to center. I don't know, it just looks nonlinear and not like a proper "list". Could it possibly be made left-justified? --Limxzero 13:14, August 16, 2011 (UTC)

Base exp + Combat Exp[edit source]

Would it be possible to also have a box for showing how much exp is gained with the amount of damage one does? - Rollback crown.svgWinning444Talk Magic.png 01:06, September 21, 2012 (UTC)

Should be extremely simple; any number of editors (myself included; but not up for the task atm) should be able to make a simple calc. Hell, there may even be one that exists somewhere. MolMan 01:14, September 21, 2012 (UTC)

Base experience calculator needs fancier javascript to handle the "x amount of magic xp (+y xp in some other skill)" format[edit source]

I first noticed this problem on the Fertile Soil spell's article, where |exp=87+18 Farming xp.

The javascript code expects a number (e.g.: 87), but we gave it a string ("87+18 Farming xp") instead.

Right now this is not supported, (it returns NaN), but it should be manageable if we:

  • Parse the string, splitting it into numeric and non-numeric sections (87, "+", 18, " Farming xp")
  • Multiply every number we find by XPEach
  • The resulting string will be the result of: 87 * XPEach + "+" + 18 * XPEach + " Farming xp"

I don't suppose the javascript behind this template can be edited by regular members... Could an exception be made? Sincerely, 3ICE (talk) 19:21, October 4, 2012 (UTC)

I just thought of a much easier solution that uses regex capture groups:
  • replace \d+ with $0 * XPEach or with function(x){return x * XPEach; }.
It works using the same logic, but only needs one line of code. 3ICE (talk) 19:22, October 4, 2012 (UTC)

Width seems off[edit source]

please fix the width problem with this template... there is a lot of white space to the left.   az talk   02:31, April 24, 2015 (UTC)
