Template documentation

Template:CiteForum invokes function forumref in Module:References using Lua.

Usage

{{CiteForum|author=|url=|title=|forum=|postdate=|lost=|archiveurl=|archivedate=|notes=|name=}}

author

The author of the post. Include "Mod" prefixes, such as "Mod Mark" instead of simply "Mark".

url

Include the full URL of the forum thread, including the http://. You must also archive the thread and link it in the archiveurl parameter described below.

title

The title of the thread.

forum

Optional. The forum where the thread is/was located. Defaults to RuneScape.

postdate

The date the post was added. If the post was edited, use the most recent edit date.

lost

Optional. If the reference was not archived before it was deleted, enter |lost=yes. If not, omit it.

archiveurl

Archive the permalink using archive.today or the Wayback Machine and insert the archived url.

archivedate

The date the url was archived in the format: dd month yyyy.

Standard parameters

The following parameters are standard across all citation templates.

notes

Optional. This parameter allows you to add text beginning one space after the end of the citation. Having no formatting (meaning you will have to format it yourself), this area can be used for anything you require.

name

Optional. If you want to use this reference more than once, you must name it the first time you use it, then whenever you want to use it again, add {{NamedRef|name}} wherever you want it to re-appear.

group

Optional. This can be used to put the reference into a specific group, to separate it from other types of reference. See here for more on reference groups.
