A teak is a dainty tree that can be found in various locations at the rare tree icon. Level 35 Woodcutting is required to chop down this tree. On 20 March 2012, the teak trees were graphically updated in a hidden update. As of 23 September 2009, they have approximately a 2.5% chance to give a special teak log, which can be traded with the sawmill operator for coins or a conversion of logs in the inventory into planks with two special teak logs. Along with mahogany logs, teak logs are used mainly for Construction, but they can also be lit for 105 Firemaking experience and added to a fire for 120 Firemaking experience. They can also be made into a crossbow stock, giving 27 Fletching experience.
Cutting teaks gives between 41,000, with level 35 Woodcutting, and 92,000 Woodcutting experience per hour, with level 99 Woodcutting. At level 99 Woodcutting a player using beaver familiars, a legendary lumberjack aura, full lumberjack clothing, perfect juju woodcutting potions, and a superior log-splitting scrimshaw can gain 140,000 Woodcutting experience per hour. Using crimson skillchompas in addition to these boosts can grant around 147,000 Woodcutting experience per hour. Using crystallise and light form as well can give around 237,000 Woodcutting experience per hour.

Managing Miscellania after completion of Royal Trouble
The best place to chop teak trees is either in the Hardwood grove near Tai Bwo Wannai village or on Ape Atoll. The best practice for banking logs when chopping in the Hardwood grove is by either having Rionasta send them to the bank for 10 trading sticks each, by storing them in the bank deposit box north of Jiminua's Jungle Store after completion of the Deadliest Catch quest or by using a quick teleport to a bank, such as a TokKul-Zo, and teleporting back using a Tai Bwo Wannai Teleport scroll. If chopping on Ape Atoll one can very quickly store their logs by using the deposit box just west of the trees, which is also unlocked after Deadliest Catch. This deposit box is also quicker to access than the one on Karamja.
- Bird's nests have a chance of falling out of this tree.
At level 24 Hunter, wearing a strung rabbit foot gives a better chance of getting a drop.
At level 80 Woodutting, wearing a tree-shaking scrimshaw will increase the chance by 300%.
At level 80 Woodutting, wearing a superior tree-shaking scrimshaw will increase the chance by 400%.
