This talk page is for discussing the Yak Track page.

The Yak trak appears to scale with your skills and what you are actually capable of completing. For example, I am only level 11 divination so I was only tasked with collecting Flickering wisps.

Were the amounts you had to collect the same as currently in the table? My contributions Dalek SecTalk to me 15:12, 26 November 2019 (UTC)
I only needed 580 bars at tier 2 on my ironman instead of 600 at 79 Smithing. I also noticed that there was an edit that "corrected" the number of bars from 590 to 600. My main however had 600. ArcticFire (talk) 17:18, 26 November 2019 (UTC)

XP Boosts[edit source]

Are the 2% xp boost rewards permanent? They don't add any buff icons so I'm not sure how they're applied. WiggleCat (talk) 23:56, 27 November 2019 (UTC)

Only while the Yak Track event is active, apparently: 04:54, 28 November 2019 (UTC)

Construction Tasks[edit source]

Does crafting flatpacks count toward the construction tasks, and does it work using protean planks? Protean logs didn't work for the firemaking tasks so I'm unsure if protean items in general don't count toward reaching the goals or if it was just the logs. WiggleCat (talk) 00:07, 28 November 2019 (UTC)

Yes to both. SirGwydion (talk) 21:23, 12 December 2019 (UTC)

Mining coal with Living Rock Caverns[edit source]

Could someone try mining coal in the Living Rock Caverns from Concentrated coal deposit for task 40? Use a Rock golem outfit, Sign of the porter (optinally in a Grace of the elves) and Coal stone spirit. Optionally use Perfect juju mining potion as well to keep stamina up. Optionally obtain Varrock armour 1 and New Varrock achievements easy (to avoid wearing armour) and medium (to double chance). Krissrex95 (talk) 15:29, 1 December 2019 (UTC)

Yes that's what I did. Every ore mined with the various boosts counts towards the completion of the task, which makes it blazing fast (+10/15 progression each time you successfuly mine). Arcky (talk) 15:46, 1 December 2019 (UTC)
No, because anyone with a high enough level to use that gear does not get coal as one of the mining tasks, we get assigned a minimum of Drakolith. WiggleCat (talk) 17:20, 1 December 2019 (UTC)
Actually, the penultimate Task 40 Mining task gave me Coal (and up), while all others were Drakolith and up. EDIT: my bad, I did Div instead of Mining for 45, my count was off. 18:05, 1 December 2019 (UTC)
I'm 99 Mining and I can, once again, confirm that I indeed got "Coal and up" to mine for the 40th task. Master quest cape.png Arcky Talk  17:59, 1 December 2019 (UTC)
I'm doing this as I type this response and it works just fine. WiggleCat (talk) 06:56, 9 December 2019 (UTC)

I must have had this page open for a while, your comment wasn't there when I edited the page and upon editing in my own comment it deleted yours since it wasn't present on my end. That wasn't done on purpose, so I apologize for that Arcky. WiggleCat (talk) 19:12, 1 December 2019 (UTC)

Smithing Tasks[edit source]

Just as a tidbit on smithing tasks, at least for sure task 15, you can make (in my case) elder rune legs +1, +2 and so forth and it'll count towards the progress in case anyone was wondering. Dr Widdleguy (talk) 19:17, 1 December 2019 (UTC)

final task[edit source]

as we have found out the tasks scale to pepoles levels to some degree. how much does the final task scale i want to know if i should use a bond and skip the last 4 or should i just push throgh and grind them out. i can pretty easily grind them all except the final task wich if its even partly as hard as it lists i would not be able to do it without a skip. thing is you cant just buy one skip so if im going to need to use a skip on the last one i might as well just skip the last 4. and save myself the time and energy and not let the 3 skips go to waste. but i cant see anyway to tell what the task will be in advance. 05:05, 7 December 2019 (UTC)
