Worlds[edit source]

Are we sure about the stated worlds? 20 min ago, (which I believe was 6pm GMT), there was no Warbans in w23, but it happened in w4... 18:21, March 26, 2013 (UTC)

Each world has its own timer on when the warbands appear, so if one is in one world there might not be one in another world. pjJ4pBM.png Abyssal vine whip.png 18:31, March 26, 2013 (UTC)

Ah, so the table indicates "one of these worlds will hous the warband at this time"? 19:23, March 26, 2013 (UTC)
Ergo, we are not going to document this. If every world is different, it is not worth our time. Whether the times are static for some time or not is irrelevant. The entirety of the information which some have foolishly decided to add here is too dynamic for any of it to be reliable for a significant amount of time. We can't provide truly accurate information for every world - two strong reasons why we shouldn't try to provide any beyond what we have now. Perhaps we can document any official worlds, but, for now, I'll see to it that this stays off of the page. MolMan 00:51, March 27, 2013 (UTC)
I've been hearing from other people that the times for the warband spawns change every reset then proceed to happen every 8 hours after their initial spawn. 05:02, March 27, 2013 (UTC)
That's my understanding as well, but that's still too dynamic for us to document accurately. It would require visiting every world every time there's an update and that's sort of ridiculous. If there are one or two official worlds, I don't mind documenting those, but every members server is not going to happen. MolMan 14:38, March 27, 2013 (UTC)
Well at least according to the warband FAQ they intend on adding a timer to every world for it. 19:20, March 27, 2013 (UTC)
I don't think that will change much other than making it less needed to have a table. MolMan 19:22, March 27, 2013 (UTC)

Hey, uh... Not really a need to do this anymore. The formulae for experience is already on the main page, and the supplies pages have their own calculators.Quest point cape.png Orodalf Talk Nature rune.png 05:04, April 8, 2013 (UTC)

There is a formular in the article. \frac{x^2-2x+100}{2} But it isn't mentioned what you should substitute for x. My contributionsTHARKONMy adventurer's log 03:11, May 26, 2013 (UTC)

Banking with a yak[edit source]

Is it possible to bank wands of treachery as soon as obtained by using a yak? If so, it should probably be mentioned in the article. Logialian (talk) 05:06, March 28, 2013 (UTC)

I doubt this is possible. Dragon dagger.png AmoVos 12:05, April 4, 2013 (UTC)
I can't test myself (lack the (bad) luck of receiving a wand, and the Summoning level required for a yak), but I see plenty people taking a Yak to Warbands. So it'd be good to be able to confirm/counter this. 13:08, April 4, 2013 (UTC)
I don't think you can. You can't store supplies into a BoB and I've heard reports that you can't use the winter storage scroll. April 4, 2013, 17:37 (UTC)
You can't store items of a certain value in beast of burden, so I can only assume the wand would be far too valuable. 19:54, April 5, 2013 (UTC)
Yeah, you can bank the wand using a yak, unsure about things like imp boxes. Shadow silk hood.png Elysian Aura Lord marshal cap.png 15:44, April 8, 2013 (UTC)

Loot count not working?[edit source]

Has the 8 hour timer really been removed? I did a warband on one world then another warband spawned 20 minutes later on my home world but when I tried to loot it I was told I already looted 3 camps today. I can confirm that it was the second camp I attempted to loot today and the first camp I hit today was by the lava maze and the second camp was near the Dark Warrior's Fortress. 20:01, April 5, 2013 (UTC)

I heard this was an intentional change by Jagex? The last few days I've done my three daily loots in a 40 min timespan; even going to the same camp (on different worlds) twice. 04:22, April 6, 2013 (UTC)
Might be you did one the night before, after Jagex's clock turned over. I get my two SoF spins at 7:00; it could be the same thing. I wouldn't be surprised. Snowskeeper---Till Hell Freezes Over. (talk) 19:37, June 4, 2013 (UTC)

Warband Lingo[edit source]

Can we get a list of the lingo used by warband FCs? I can't follow what they are saying. =( 22:08, May 9, 2013 (UTC)

Prayer, Summon, and Slayer xp glitch?[edit source]

It seems like several people aren't getting any prayer, summon, or slayer XP from the beams and generals. Everytime I have done any of these in the past twoish weeks I get a message saying either "you've gotten all the rewards you can from warbands today" (I get that message on the first warband of the day) and after that I always get a message saying "You've participated in 3 X today, come back tomorow." I keep looking into it but there was only one thread on the issue and no record of it on this or the official wiki. 23:12, May 23, 2013 (UTC)

Prayer and Summoning XP?[edit source]

This article is missing key information regarding the beam. Can you get prayer or summoning xp from it? How? Is it generally permissable by the warbanding fc's? Does it shorten the longevity of the camp? 18:50, June 4, 2013 (UTC)

You get Prayer experience from the first stage of the beam; and Summoning for the second stage. This is most certainly allowed by the fcs, as correctly dealing with the beam (which will give you experience) will summon npcs to help you fight the camp, and make the camp stay alive for 10 minutes. If either the Prayer or Summoning stage of the beam fails, the camp will only stay alive for 5 minutes. IP83.101.44.209 (talk) 19:18, June 4, 2013 (UTC)
I have been told that it is bugged for XP (see above). But certainly the FCs get irate if the beam is broken and encourage the longer looting time, though in fairness 5 minutes is a lot longer than is required. Rich Farmbrough, 19:21 4 June 2013 (UTC).
Ok thanks guys. The article itself does not make this clear - it doesn't even mention that prayer and summoning xp are possible. Next question: How does one ruin/break the beam (so I can avoid doing so!)? 22:19, June 4, 2013 (UTC)
The beam is broken/failed if a few players (or a player a few times) gets spotted by the NPCs; during either phase of the beam. Aka, stay away from the NPCs, and definitely do not run into the centre of the camp. IP83.101.44.209 (talk) 05:42, June 5, 2013 (UTC)

Summoned NPCs[edit source]

Are they friendly to player characters, or does the player needs to kill them as well? I haven't had the chance to (EG I'm friggin' terrified to) participate in Warbands yet. Snowskeeper---Till Hell Freezes Over. (talk) 19:41, June 4, 2013 (UTC)

They are friendly and help kill the original znPCs, after which they teleport out. Ancient talisman.png Oil4 Talk 22:41, June 4, 2013 (UTC)
I wouldn't really call them friendly, but at the very least they don't attack the players :P . IP83.101.44.209 (talk) 05:41, June 5, 2013 (UTC)

Are Friends Chats required to Participate in Wilderness Warbands?[edit source]

I tried to play warbands without being in a fc, Knowing that by being innocent without armour and weapons is almost safe. However I keep getting killed, because the Fcs are being selfish by not letting everyone else participate except members of the Chat. Another question is: Are specific mage outfits and range outfits also required and do fcs also accept melee people? Overall I did get a few chances to succeed, but sometimes many fcs will hops worlds to loot everything they can and kill anyone on sight. The True question is:

Are people indeed required to join a Warband Fc in order to Participate safely?  —The preceding unsigned comment was added by (talk) on 13:04, February 23, 2014 (UTC).

yes it seems that way i tried the foreign worlds thinking they were abandoned but there were more people there than some regular worlds that i had tried i found a world where only 5 people were at the camp at the end and wasnt attacked but then the next warband there were 2 only who both decided to attack me it seems to be ffa unless you are part of a FC or clan i even went unarmed which made no difference they still attacked me but the only active clans seem to be focused on pking and not doing warbands just killing those doing warbands 02:01, May 2, 2014 (UTC)

Is this really a D&D?[edit source]

I think it's been long enough to see that this should be classified as a Mini-game. A D&D is classified as a break from regular training, a distraction of sorts. They aren't meant to replace the method of training entirely. Not only that, but D&D tokens have no option to reset Wilderness Warbands. Just thought I'd bring this up and ask others if it's best to change the page classfied as a D&D to a Mini-game. Thieverpedia (talk) 04:56, May 22, 2014 (UTC)

Although that is true jagex classifies Wilderness Warbands as a D&D in it's descriptions, also the lack of the ability to play this continiously is a clear hint to a D&D. Furthermore, it can be considered a break from skilling to earn xp in one of five skills.Reg sf vynce (talk) 08:30, May 22, 2014 (UTC)
