- If you're refering to the description which is found in-game when inspecting the repaired artefact then yes, as lore jmods were involved in the creation of Archaeology. You can however double check with those jmods, I believe Mod Rowley was involved, to confirm if it's indeed canon. I don't see a reason though why it shouldn't be canon.
