what about making a high leveled method?

High level Method (Melee)

If you have high levels in melee and herblore you can get easily the cave in less than 45 min.

Recommended levels

Ranged 80+

Attack 95+

Strength 95+

Defence 95+

prayer 92+

Constitution 95+

herblore 88+

You need to kill lvl 22 first, then 90, then 360, then 180, and last 45.

You can range the 22s to let them not no hit you.

In early waves you can heal on 90s and 180s.

Always trap 180 behind 360s.

To Kill lvl 360s you need to hit-n-run when they do magic hits. (you can range them if u are in trouble)

Be careful, because melee hits are not accurate but powerful.

While u are in wave 63, you can range tztok-jad or melee it.

Melee is the fastest way, but extremly risky. You should change to Protect from Melee (or Deflect Melee) every hit. Or you can use Dragon Claws Special Attack, with Soul Split and Turmoil Or Protects/Deflects.

Recommended equipment Edit

Helmet: Full Slayer Helmet(Task Only)/Slayer Helm(Task only)/Neitiznot Helm

Amulet: Amulet of fury / God stole / Holy symbol / Unholy symbol / Amulet of glory

Top: Bandos ChestPlate/Verac's brassard/Proselyte hauberk/Fighter Torso

Bottom: Bandos Tassets/Verac's plateskirt/Proselyte cuisse

Weapon (Melee): Chaotic Weapon/Abyssal Whip/Godsword

Weapon (Range): Chaotic Crossbow/Rune C'bow/Crystal bow/Karil's crossbow

Weapon (Special): Enhaced Excalibur (highly recommended)/Saradomin Godsword/Dragon Claws (for TzTok-Jad only)

Cape: Ardougne Cloak/Soul Wars Cape/Skillcape/Fire Cape

Arrow/Bolt: Broad-tipped bolts/Bolt Rack / Nothing (if using crystal bow)

Gloves: Gloves (Barrows)/Regen Bracelet/Black spiky vambs

Boots: Dragon boots/Bandos boots/Ranger boots/Snakeskin boots

Ring: Ring Of Vigour/Imbued Rings/Explorer's ring (optional) /

Recommended inventory Edit

Spec Weapon

Rune crossbow / Karil's crossbow / 2 Crystal bows

Dragonfire Shield/Rune Defender and Falador shield 3 or 4 (one must be equipped and the other in inventory)

Extreme Attack and Extreme Defence (or 2 overloads)

9 Saradomin brews (4)

5 Super restore potions (4)

9 Super Prayer (4) or Prayer Potion (4)

Adjust as needed

I don't know... it doesn't add much to the article. Basically, it says "if you have very high stats, you can melee, use extreme pots for Jad, go for it". 99% of the readers won't need this information, and the equipment is no different from that of other methods. We can't make a section out of EVERY little variation on a strategy... I will move the information to the Miscellanious section, so it won't be lost. Runerune239 16:14, November 21, 2010 (UTC)

Someone needs to add the quantities of ammo for at least the ranged method. Bobbagnush55 03:42, November 21, 2010 (UTC)

I used the method with Guthans/Rune crossbow/Ava's accumultor. This is my third try, and both times I have not used over 500 Adamant bolts (I didn't pick up any either). 1500 is definitely not needed; change the needed amount to 700. Also if you're not a complete klutz you won't need more than 4 Sara brews (if you have regen brace); stock the rest up on Sup restore. Futhermore, a shield is almost unnecessary imo, it's much better to bring a Prayer Book (if using rune cb), since 80% of the fight you're using Prot from magic. I didn't even use my shield last run since it lowers Ranged bonus.--Saxazax 04:48, December 26, 2010 (UTC)

Soul Split[edit source]

If you are able to use soul split, it is highly reccomended to use melee + soul split all the way to the level 360's, then switch to range, and use soul split whenever you get the chance.

Added to the article. --Runerune239 14:12, January 20, 2011 (UTC)

Guthan's method and a slayer task[edit source]

I got the fight caves as my slayer task and I also wanted to take the Guthan's method to kill Jad. Problem is that it says that I should wear full Guthans to fight Jad. Should I wear my full slayer helm or my guthan's helm? I completed every Quest so far! Sir Fairfang Woot! 99 Magic! 09:29, January 19, 2011 (UTC)

Just take both; use Slayer helm when you're killing monsters the normal way, and switch to full Guthans when you need to heal. This will take up one more inventory spot, but Guthans will heal much more than the extra brew you can take in that spot. --Runerune239 13:56, January 20, 2011 (UTC)

Guthan's strategy[edit source]

What's the point of having other armour other than's sort of confusing to me since it has guthan's helm in the inventory but not the rest of the armour if you decide to use another piece of equipment

Well the idea is you use a normal outfit for regular killing, and Guthans when you need LP. However, since Guthan's helm's stats are quite good, you can leave the helm on for the whole minigame. If you do that, you only need to have 3 free inventory spots. Only if you decide to take another helm, you'll need an extra space for Guthan's helm. --Runerune239 13:59, January 20, 2011 (UTC)

Pictures (rec inventory & equipment) please![edit source]

Can someone (who has completed the Fight Caves) please put up their recommended equipment and inventory? Even if it's just a small thing. I'm attempting Fight Caves but I can only play for long periods of time on the weekends and even then I'm usually riding, so it might take me a while. EDIT: I see there are text ones - idiotttt me didn't notice that earlier. I suppose that works? *shrug* Thanks, Teri (: 01:40, June 26, 2011 (UTC)

Shields using guthan method[edit source]

In the guthan inventory section why is it that the Toktz-ket-xil is before the Dragonfire shield? The Dragonfire shield has much better stats than the Toktz-ket-xil.

After reading and updating information on the fight caves, I think doing a complete overhaul on these pages might be nescesarry. Since the update, there's a lot of conflicting, useless and bad information regarding the new strategies needed for this minigame.

Hey, would it be crazy to swap out the ranged portion of the guthans method with the polypore and ganodermic method allowing the player to still tank jad but also having guthans for the begining waves? 23:02, February 23, 2012 (UTC)Sorrow115

Bonfire in Wave 62?[edit source]

For players without access to Extremes, Chaotics, Overloads, 95+ ranged: would it be worth swapping out six items in the inventory for one willow log and five magic logs?

Then on Wave 62, with Protect from Magic on, light the willow log, then add the five magic logs to the bonfire and get the Hitpoints boost? Add in the fact that the Hitpoints boost from bonfires stack with the Hitpoints boost from Saradomin brews, the extra Hitpoints boost may make the difference between victory and defeat against TzTok-Jad in Wave 63?

~~penguin 18:33, June 20, 2012 (UTC)

Personally I would bonfire before entering the cave and again as soon as the boost has ended and its a safe. This way you'd get the bonus healing from the brews thoughout (without you take over 2 hours)

Best ranged weapon?[edit source]

For Karil's crossbow' 'it says

'The max hit of this crossbow is less than a rune crossbow, but it can still inflict the most damage per second of any non-PvP Ranged weapon.'

Yet later it says

'Item (Most effective → least effective)'

Rune crossbow > Karil's crossbow

Which one is it?

Rune cbow allows for the use of diamond (e) bolts which help speed up the 360's and Jad. However due to the lower speed the lower level monsters like the 20's take longer. So speed wise they are very similar in the long run.
All in all, rune cbow wins mainly because you can use it with a shield, using ee(e) is easier and it costs less (with broad bolts and diamond (e)).

Void[edit source]

I've been meaning try for the fire cape again for a while, however the void range setup seems have disappeared.

Am I right it presuming its still a standard void ranger setup with a normal range inventory?

Confusing Rankings in Gear Recommendations[edit source]

In the Guthan's / Ranged section, it has a series of gear reommendations, but they're not listed in order of preference (or at least not in any way I could understand). The Ranged-only method has a nice table, with better items to the left and less desireable one's on the right. That would make infinetely more sense, why can't we apply that table to the other gear recommendations?

New Fight caves method that should be put on the page [edit source]

Hello, I just did the fight caves with a new setup that proved very effective. Since the EOC update the fight caves are a much greater challange then before, requiring far more startagy and effort to beat.

My setup

Dharok full armor

Dharok axe

Polypore staff

Ava's (Best one you can use, collector or alerters or w/e)

Bandos boots

Amulet of fury

5k rune arrows

Magic longbow (sighted, a must)

Now, I also had Korasi's sword and a Bandos warshield but they proved to be a waste of space as the fight cave waves progressed, I would recomend not taking them along.

Inv-rocktails, 10 or so, then 10 prayer potions, 2-4 prayer restore potions, perhaps changing the inv around a little if boost potions are desired.

You need a minimum of 3 quick bar setups, because of you wish to get through the fight caves with hair left you need to utalize the cb triangle. Id recomend putting then in order, 1-2-3 for example, and remember that the up arrow from qb 1 will send you to 5, clicking up on 5 will send u to 4. Up is down and down is up, typical Jagex.

Have 4 basic abilities, 2 ults, and then thresh/misc in each tab, dedicate 1 to offensive melee(Dharok axe) 1 to magic (Polypore) and one to ur shieldbow mix ranged abilities and defensive abilities on this tab. You 2 ults should be Incendiary shot and rejuvenvate, immortality can be used but I prefer the other 2.

Why Dharok>? Because it hits hard, and hits harder as/if your hp get lower. Gormagon (talk) 17:12, November 26, 2012 (UTC)

Can someone add a hybrid section please? I think obsidian, warpriest, or dragon rider should be effective, but since I'm trying to get the fire cape now I don't feel as though I have enough experience to make a section myself 21:15, August 29, 2015 (UTC) Moltar Kaio

EOC made Fight Caves about 20 times easier, not harder. It would also seem that using Dharok's with EOC would not be particularly helpful since the set effect only activates on basic abilities. Using Dharok's seems like an unnnecessary risk given that you need to maintain below half health to even get the effect started. Klingande (talk) 18:18, September 9, 2015 (UTC)

Sign of Life/Death[edit source]

I just wanted to point out that the sign of life or the sign of death do not work in the TzHaar Fight Caves. I just went through, lagged on Jad, died and had my sign of life consumed with the message that is doesn't work in this area. King dude415 (talk) 06:35, December 6, 2017 (UTC)

Shedokan (talk) 16:19, July 27, 2018 (UTC) Same with me, didn't work, why is it in the guide?
