Rewards[edit source]

Some (imo) positive news on rewards, Jagex has learnt from the previous world events and is planning to make all rewards obtainable regardless of which faction you join. Based on the Tuska event twitch stream ([1]) at ~27:00 onwards:
"But we wanna make sure that no matter what faction you represent, you'll be able to get all of them. So, wh- so people aren't going to have to worry like faction hoppin' 'n stuff to make sure they get all of their rewards this time. You can just kinda take part in the event and represent whichever faction you want to represent (...)."

I am putting the Name that they gave the beasts, I looked thoroughly on the source you given, (could be me) but i did not hear or see any image of the beasts, the image of those beasts were given on another live stream with a name. Around 19:00 game time, Sunday 24 May 2015, an event message was broadcast to all players that read the following: "You sense something is not right, as if this could be the beginning of the end."

Point Caps[edit source]

So the 1000 points per day cap from running the D&D is fairly obvious - but there's a limit to how many fragments you can get from (s)killing on Tuska's back, as well. The primary cap seems to be on XP, but once you cap on XP you can't do anything there anymore except killing the slayer beasts, and I'm guessing you won't get any more fragment drops from them after that point, so it functions as a cap on fragments and points as well.

Doing agility on non-sparkling posts seems to have a cap of ~700 points or 140 frags (sparklies give more xp per tick, but they don't seem to give an increased chance at frags, so sparklies give a lot less frags per day). Anyone gotten more than that from agil? What about wc and slayer? Sorator (talk) 21:59, June 1, 2015 (UTC)

Contribution[edit source]

So the good news: just about any actions you do contributes to your score (the bar at the top of the screen.) So if you are on the island with lightning, hammering a lightning post will draw in anima just as if you were getting energy from a lightning creature. If you were on the prayer island, burning tentacles. If you are on the island with the plants, cutting roots, sprinkling the crushed herbs. Even mining the meteorites will work in your favor. (Note: the Meteorites will occur on ALL islands, mining them will gain progress towards ALL islands. So at least mining them will help if you're having a hard time.)

The bad news: There are specific tasks that will grant you larger chunks for progress, but require more setup. On the island with lightning, luring the sentient lightning to the center and then charging the center will grant far more to your progress than hammering a post. On the island with prayer/ghosts, killing a ghost and performing the last rites, or finding the lost soul and taking that to the altar grant an immediate 3%, while burning the tentacles is slow. On the island with the plants, your best reward to progress is returning seeds to the center plant. --Deltaslug (talk) 16:00, June 2, 2015 (UTC)

I get 6% for returning a seed to the tree. I get NO energy for chopping roots on that same island. Personally haven't seen fallen rocks on the tentacle nor lightning island. Island of Lost Souls[edit source]

Presently, the article seems to indicate that you must either return a lost soul or defeat a tormented soul. I do both with no problem. You capture the lost soul in a relic, fight a tormented soul and bring it to the Last Rites circle, then run back down to the graveyard and to the altar to release the lost soul. Is there some kind of benefit to doing one or the other instead of both at the same time? --Moldrum (talk) 06:32, June 3, 2015 (UTC)

Ambient sounds[edit source]

I noticed one of the background ambient sounds while on Tuska's back is the "Slow Down" (formerly) Unidentified sound, albiet it slightly sped up. It's neat little thing but I'm unsure if it warrants being added as a point of Trivia. 10:29, June 5, 2015 (UTC)

new currency amounts[edit source]

I got 250 reward currency at 100% on my second tuska kill.  I'm thinking we should make a table on the main page to show the reward currency obtained at each kill, but we obviously need more data first.

I concur, the data should be collected. I do wonder what happens if you get 750 in two runs, do you get 750 + 250 + whatever the remainder is for the 500 leftover points, or does it just cap at 1000 and start giving diminishing returns on the next run?

Mystery solved[edit source]

Official information from Mod Deg via Mod Matthe [2]:

"Your first 1,000 points work as before. If you have reach 1,000 points, your next two stabs will be capped at 250 points. After that you can continue stabbing her for up to 50 points.

Additionally, every time you stab Tuska, the amount of time you can spend training agility/woodcutting/combat on her back is reset. However, you are now limited to 80 fragments per day."

So if it's only 80 fragments a day, have they reduced the fragment spawn rate? or add a message letting you know about the cap?

Yeah, it seems oddly low given the previous numbers obtainable. OTOH, we can keep getting the currency from stabbing Tuska, but 50 per run only equates to 10 fragments per 15-20 minutes, which is slower than it would be if we could actually collect fragments. 04ismailjj6 (talk) 13:58, June 8, 2015 (UTC)
If the description is accurate then it implies that if you got say 95% (950) on your first run, you could only get 5% on your second (50) and then 250 on the next two, which is also unfortunate. Spooky Xero (talk) 22:54, June 8, 2015 (UTC)
Well, the description given is not accurate.  If you fail to get 1000 on your first stab, then your second stab is still capped at 250 (which is not what the description says).  Got 942 on first stab and 250 on second.  Spooky Xero (talk) 09:58, June 12, 2015 (UTC)

Agility obstacles[edit source]

Yeah, that seems to be the case with all skilling objects. I've gotten the last few extra % on the tree island by cutting vines and crushing herbs. Also why I ignore the meteors on the Agility islands because I get enough % from runestones (and extra div/dg/agility xp). --Shockstorm (talk) 06:19, June 13, 2015 (UTC)

Handicapped?[edit source]

There seems to be a handicap system in place, where if Gielinor wins on a given day, then Tuska will get stronger (more HP) the next day, but if Tuska wins then the next day the threshold will be lowered. Has anyone confirmed if that is indeed the case? 02:37, June 9, 2015 (UTC)

That's true. If that happens, normally you get a message telling "This root doesn't need any more of your attention". I've had roots going to the sides of the island and simply stopping right there xD --JorisCeoen 21:47, June 19, 2015 (UTC)
I've had it happen as well, but the message you refer to is unrelated to it. That can happen even if the root doesn't stop, and is generally used in multi-player situations where you clicked the root too late. Another observation: just grew a root into an energy plant, and the next pod appeared immediately next to it, on top of the root to grow. I could still nurture it, and a single nurture made the next plant grow. IP83.101.44.209 (talk) 04:12, June 20, 2015 (UTC)

Transcipt Update?[edit source]

Assuming you mean the ingame dialogue (and not the page itself on the wiki), no, Jagex has left the original dialogue pretty uninteresting. From what I gather from RSOF Q&As and stuff, they're not going to update the Tuska event (their reason/excuse being that they need to focus on Raids). They may add some special airuts that can be summoned by Jmods, but that's pretty much it. --Shockstorm (talk) 15:58, June 13, 2015 (UTC)
I haven't exactly talked to the NPCs again, but the only dialogue I've seen changed, was that Wizard Chambers now says once sentence when 'talking' to him, when the event is active, and you are in a minigame group that is ready. I find this very odd as well. Where are these results coming from? It's now the exact same for 5 days. I think someone lazy is just pasting the previous results without bothering at all. Some speculate that Jagex is rigging the thing. Also note that the bar won't be full even at 100%, and Jagex refuses to correct that. --Jlun2 (talk) 21:47, June 19, 2015 (UTC)

i know this is old but im tired of the "jagax is rigging every event" comments. you realy think if they were rigging it they would make it this big? no they would make it look like its close as that gets more pepole excited and more pepole playing meaning more money for them. when its this kind of land slide less pepole play. just like in countries where all elections are clearly rigged and dictators some how get 90% of the vote. the turn out to vote is far smaller as pepole are dishartend.
what would jagax realy gain from rigging it anyway? you gys also claimed during other events that the good guys won only becuse they were the good guys and everyone wanted to be a good guy. yet this time the "good" guys did not win the godless wich most pepole would agree are not depicted as good or bad. while the good guys lost yet you still talk about it being rigged the same way. Like the previous world events, I was expecting a cutscene on log-in today as the event has ended. Nothing. I can also still get fragments on Tuska, and it looks like (haven't tried) you can still do the island event. No dialogue has changed... just that the interface at the top of the screen is gone. You do get the rewards like usual. 1000 on first, 250 on second and third etc. It's just not being displayed anymore. And, the event still hasn't ended it seems. Jagex is probably giving last chances for those who just need that last piece of a set or something. Sounds like JaGEx is so... generally... terrible, that they don't even know how to take the event out... you can't see your reward points unless you look in the shop, so clearly it's not intended to be a "last chance," and not a single NPC's dialogue has changed one bit, meaning they're not just trying to give us a chance to hang out on Tuska for a bit longer (keeping her as a permanent location in-game would be cool as a hangout spot but it wouldn't make sense in the first place). This event was supposed to leave on June 30th or July 1st, but it's still sitting in the game while the beach party shows that Tuska isn't the only one affected by JaGEx's lack of effort, as it has a lot of similar glitches (and typoes). She crashed south of wizards tower/west of bandit camp - you can swim to her Star Talk ayy lmao ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°) 14:08, July 6, 2015 (UTC)

I'm pretty sure there is only a shortcut from Bebadin Camp and north of the Bandit Camp, both places are unreachable by F2P players. Audio from stabbing Tuska?[edit source]
