Sorry[edit source]

Accidently messed up the trivia section, if someone could roll it back that would be great. Sorry scoot4.pngscooties 04:29, December 4, 2009 (UTC)

There you go. Fishing.png NnK Oliver (600613) talk 04:48, December 4, 2009 (UTC)

Every time I edit this article, the "T" at the beginning of the first statement of the trivia section keeps getting cut off. Could anyone fix this? Pyre Eternes 16:14, December 4, 2009 (UTC)

Ya got it. Buzz (Talk#P ) 16:17, December 4, 2009 (UTC)

Against "Bosses"[edit source]

Is there a peak for the boost gained from an enemy? i would imagine the player would be quite powerful if the enemy in question was Corporeal beast or Tz-Tok-Jad. Theron Julius 04:00, December 9, 2009 (UTC)

We should probably find that out. Good question! Unicorn horn dust.png Evil Yanks talk 04:03, December 9, 2009 (UTC)

The boosts can go above 29/30/33. It's represented as a percentage of the player's stats, so if the player has lower stats, the portion of the boost that comes from the monster will appear larger. 29/30/33 is only for maxed players. troacctid 17:44, May 15, 2010 (UTC)

Usage in Pvp[edit source]

Does Turmoil drain your opponents stats and add the drained amount to your stats as well as boosting them, or is it just a base boost + opponent boost based on your opponents melee stats?

i would've though that it would lower the cost of high priced weaponry and amrour, such as bandos godsword since it's much easier to kill and you get many more kills in a trip. So has it?

No to both. troacctid 21:10, November 5, 2010 (UTC)

Question: How fast does turmoil max? Is it after the first attack?

So the drain/leach curses are completely different since they drain extremely slowly, while turmoil instantaneously drains the maximum after the first hit?

Thanks for any clear answers on this.

Scaling boost[edit source]

I was wondering how accurately you could use the scaling boost to roughly measure a monster's levels. I'm doing a living rock creatures task with Turmoil, and my Attack/Strength/Defence boosts are 31%/31%/15%. The fact that I'm not getting an additional Defence bonus, combined with the fact that the additional bonuses are dependent on the opponent's stats, would suggest to me that living rock creatures (both strikers and protectors, for which the boosts are the same) have a Defence level of 1. I find this difficult to believe considering their combat levels, so I'm asking: Is this an accurate assumption based on what we know of Turmoil? --Andorin (Talk) (Contribs) 05:24, May 6, 2011 (UTC)

It does seem to imply it. It could be that they have large defensive bonuses and a low defence level - they are known to have really low defence in general. Similarly waterfiends, aquanites, spiritual mages and such give a boosted defence, and no addition to attack and strength, as they are primarily magical creatures and do not use melee, so logically have a level of 1. Ranged & Mage equivalents?[edit source]

I was wondering if anyone knows where there aren't any Ranged and Mage equivalents. The normal prayerbook does, eventhough you need to pay witht those with Dunge tokens, which is odd too, anyway... Anyone know if Jagex commented on this? . . . Yours, This user admires the Void Knights. Who aim to maintain Gielinor's Equilibrium. False and misleading info.[edit source]

Ok the trivia part where it talks about massive percentage boosts is impossible.

"Theoretically, a player with 1 Attack/Strength/Defence will receive a 1415%/923%/1415% boost from Turmoil when fighting a player with level 99 Attack/Strength/Defence; however, this would still only give 13 levels to Attack and Defence and 8 levels to Strength. "

The problem is that some of the quest requirements for this give exp in those stats.

Death Plateau:3000 attack exp

Waterfall quest: 13,750 strength exp and 13,750 attack exp

The Curse of Arrav: 9k strength exp

Defender of Varrock: 10k defence exp

What Lies Below: 2k defence exp

Troll Romance:4k strength exp

for a total of 16,750 att/26750 str/12000 def

or 32/36/28 as far as levels go. (and that is really close to 29 def. only 31 exp away.) 09:40, January 12, 2012 (UTC)

It says "theoretically". Of course it's impossible; The Temple at Senntisten requires 64 Strength. The hypothetical boosts at 1 Attack/Strength/Defence are provided as an interesting counterpoint to the 29/32/29 fallacy. --Andorin (Talk) (Contribs) 05:48, January 13, 2012 (UTC)

Comparisons between piety and turmoil -

For pros under piety it said "allows easier prayer flashing", until somebody can tell me how flashing piety is easier than turm i will continue removing it. As prayer flashing is just as easy with both, whoever added that is retarted  —The preceding unsigned comment was added by (talk) on 19:26, 5 December 2012 (UTC).

Before EoC, Turmoil took two hits of constant praying for its extra bonuses to apply, and then if a single hit occurred when it was not active, those were lost. Piety didn't have that issue. Post-EoC, I don't really know, but Turmoil does have the effect of draining opponent's stats that Piety does not - whether that is affected by flashing I have no idea. Contradiction??[edit source]

Article says that att and def have a limit of a 14 level boost, but the example states that elfinlocks gets a +19 boost to attack? is everyone too busy on 2007 rs to change this or what??? 00:46, June 3, 2013 (UTC)
