Talk:Treasure chest (Carnillean Rising)
use it and lose it?[edit source]
- No, you can reclaim it using the keyring, and if somebody finds the treasure, he will get the contents and the chest iteself will be sent to your bank. :Nmdanny (talk) 10:18, July 7, 2012 (UTC)
safety box[edit source]
What happens if you try to reopen it yourself? What happens if you destroy the keys? Can we hide our own items from view as a method of security from hacks? Sojurnstrs (talk) 15:21, July 12, 2012 (UTC)
Since this wasn't answered directly: You could reopen it yourself if not buried and retake the item hidden. If you destroy the key, the hunt is aborded and the chest return to your inventory. If you destroy the chest with item inside, the chest will goes to the Carnillean's house chest and will wait for you with the item hidden in it. So yes it's a good way to hide tradable things (like a full stack of money) Proulxs (talk) 18:49, November 18, 2013 (UTC)
digging priority[edit source]
A friend and I tested it; the treasure trail have priority over the Carnillean's chest... Both on key or pin setting, the treasure trail will be first to be dug. Proulxs (talk) 18:44, November 18, 2013 (UTC)
Destroying the Treasure chest with an item inside[edit source]
To free up back space a while ago I placed my purple sweets, also from the quest, inside the treasure chest. I then forgot about this and to save back space destroyed the treasure chest so it would return to the chest in the Carnillean mansion and I could collect it if I ever found a use for it. I then realised to my dismay that I had left the sweets in it, so I reclaimed the treasure chest and they were still there, I tried this again and there they still remained. I added a line about this to the page but if any of you want to verify it with a low value item go ahead, if it was just a glitch or only works with items also claimed from the quest reward please feel free to edit as needed. Will a buried chest appear on all worlds?[edit source]
I got one of these chests from Carnillean Rising. It's kind'a a useless item, but I'd like to put a small prize in it and bury it for someone to find, and then forget about it.
For that rereason, I don't want to set a pin or key. I just want to bury it so that anyone can find it.
If I bury it, will it be in the same spot on all worlds? Or just on the world I buried it on?
I'd also like to bury it somewhere where someone is likely to find it by chance. Any suggestions?

- Just a suggestion, and I don't know if it's possible, but you could bury it at one of the locations listed on these pages, where people will definitely dig. 20:44, August 12, 2012 (UTC)
Hiding suggestions[edit source]
I love playing with clan mates with this chest. I try to find really hard to reach spots and I would love to hear your ideas on this.
Here's my list of spot I used that were fun:
Crandor - even once you found it's an island you have to go through the volcano and run down Crandor to get the chest
Penguin agility course - People will quickly find it's all way north... but most will have to remake a penguin costume in order to get to the course itself.
Isafdar woods can be good as people often have trouble with corridors that are set in there.
Meiyerditch - This one now has teleport near so players might try the medallion if they find it's all way east... still a nice one if you get in the good house that is hard to reach. (Edit: Another fun thing to do is go south of Phasmatys and place the chest near Meiyerditch's wall making ppl think it's inside meiyerditch... The house north of the labo cannot be opened and is a good way to make them think there is a way from above)
Castel Drakan - At some point in Darkness of Hallowvale you can walk on the outer walls of Castle Drakan. you still can go back there after the quest and it show on the regular surface map, so it should work to plant it there. Since you can walk all around the castle, any spot are probably as good as another. But south side being near Barrows teleport spot, north-east seem a better choice to lead hunter toward the swamps.
Mos Le'Harmless - Near the distilleries. some teleports required and it's not always easy to travel through the jungle and search for the chest (not a top spot)
AIR or DLR fairy codes - Isolated island... I don't like AJS cause there is a fairy ring next to it on Miscellania... player who's running next to it and understand finally where it is won't have to do much of a detour
Agility pyramid - You have enough time to plant it at a moving rock... which can make it funnier... made a quick hunt, guess it's not a hard spot. (Someone did ran straight to the top before understanding it wasn't on top... yay)
Zemouregal's fort... if you place it inside; okay a bit fun... but if you place it outside; south-west near the trollweiss moutain... they might go get the sled and seek on the slope. If you place it south enough, they might belive it's pointing to the ice path
Some spots I would like to try; Lucien's camp... is it possible?(edit:yes, and the strange teleorb isn't quick to get back if they destroyed it) Ice path, Monkey madness' crash island (still accessible from Ape Atoll's jungle (edit: yes))Proulxs (talk) 20:58, August 19, 2013 (UTC)+Proulxs (talk) 20:22, September 4, 2013 (UTC)+Proulxs (talk) 19:01, November 18, 2013 (UTC) + Proulxs (talk) 10:48, November 29, 2014 (UTC)
Lost treasure boxes... Oh My![edit source]
After the quest Carnillean Rising, I heard several people talk of burying their box with treasure but forgot where they put it. How do we get it back? 18.104.22.168 05:17, September 24, 2013 (UTC)luckylay4122.214.171.124 05:17, September 24, 2013 (UTC)
If you buried it you got a key ring... you can use the setup option to abord... also if you log off it'll return to Carnillean's house or your bank... not sure. But either way it'll be easy to get it back Proulxs (talk) 21:09, October 3, 2013 (UTC)
