Mistake[edit source]

Someone has made a mistake. Rune HQ says that the strength is 5, while in here, it says that it is 7. Someone is wrong. Can someone please check? Thanks. Emosworld 07:02, 22 October 2006 (UTC)

The KB says that it has the same stats as a bronze long. The bronze long has 7 strength. The ordinary bronze sword has 5 strength. RHQ was probably confused. 01:50, 29 October 2006 (UTC)

I'm glad I can edit this as a nonmember, but you guys are definitely wrong. The training sword has the same stats as a bronze sword, not a bronze longsword. I know this based upon in game data (I recently made a new account just for the heck of it) Jagex's reasoning for this is most likely that you recieve a bronze sword on tutorial island. If you want to contact me I don't think its a good idea leaving an email address here but my account is Drpeppergod. I used to be a member but highschool is too time consuming. I am just starting to pick things up a little bit as it is my senior year.

the str is *5* for a training sword.

discounted?[edit source]

as far as i can tell, this item is now discounted. cant get em from the tutors anymore. and in varrock, we get bronze swords instead. even new players dont get them. this would make these the first equipable discounted non re obtainable item since... santas? in any case, a long time. should be noted.

Firstly, you mean "discontinued" and secondly, you can buy them from General stores around Lumbridge. At least that's what Jagex said in the update notification. kitty.pngPsycho Robot talkSilver bar.png 22:30, September 18, 2009 (UTC)
well, all iv seen is bronze daggers/shortswords. why dont u try 2 see if u can spot a shop selling them?
Well, it is then possible that Jagex simply deleted the Training items. Jagex does NOT want to make new rares, they've said multiple times that they hated what happened with Party Hats and all those. kitty.pngPsycho Robot talkSilver bar.png 22:35, September 18, 2009 (UTC)
they arnt deleted- iv got swords, arrows, sheilds, and a bow in my bank.
There must be, then, some way to get them. Jagex really hates discontinued items. kitty.pngPsycho Robot talkSilver bar.png 00:26, September 19, 2009 (UTC)
iv searched all i can. if u can find a way, post it here.
Training bow and Training arrows are discontinued, I'm not sure about Training sword and shield though. --Nup(T) 01:07, September 19, 2009 (UTC)
  • sigh* I looked on the forums and you are indeed correct. There is currently no way to get any more Training equipment. Silly me, I expected Jagex to have actually done what they said they did... kitty.pngPsycho Robot talkSilver bar.png 01:15, September 19, 2009 (UTC)

All training wepawns are DISCONTINUED

Old sword[edit source]

I went onto one of my old accounts, and I still had a training sword and shield, but the sword was different than the one in the article, it was kinda like the blurite sword from The Knight's sword, so is there two different kinds of "Training sword"s? 19:46, October 8, 2009 (UTC)

This is basically dead[edit source]

But to further the discussion, the training sword was not a bronze longsword, it was just a sword, with three stab options, and one slash, and no way to gain controlled experience. It was also equivalent to the wooden sword.

Magic def?[edit source]

The article says that some low-level players use it because it provides magic def, while many other swords decrease magic def...but I see no swords that I can think of that decrease magic def. There's plenty of them with 0 magic def, but no penalties. I could be wrong, but I checked a good number of them...--Jimfromtx 20:14, August 27, 2010 (UTC)
