Untitled[edit source]

The infobar and article text contradict eachother regarding the monster's maximum hit. (26 vs 30) Coolcoder9t 05:57, 27 November 2008 (UTC)

Ok.... so the begining says you can't solo it, then the strategy section says you can??? 'asdfgha' talk 12:13, 27 November 2008 (UTC)

It just says that it's nearly impossible to solo it, but not impossible.Powers38 12:15, 27 November 2008 (UTC)

it is possible to solo it, check out this youtube video demon solo....its not me but its a soloFreekinkool1 12:22, 27 November 2008 (UTC)

After the quest, do these guys still use protection prayers? And I heard they can lower your stats as well...  Tien  21:10, 29 November 2008 (UTC)

They still use protection prayers, not sure about lowering your stats though. Billy Bomb7 22:28, 29 November 2008 (UTC)

Solo or team[edit source]

Solo: Weaken him with darklight and range from safe spot at the entrance. Use protect from magic.

Team: All weaken with darklight, use all combat styles. Use protect from magic.

TD: Not protected from summoning special attacks =D Buzz (Talk#P ) 22:42, 29 November 2008 (UTC)

Question/Theory[edit source]

I see it states (I had the thought a few days ago but couldn't remember how to make the vials) that holy water is a weakness of these demons. How does it work exactly? Can it remove the firey rings that protect them akin to dark/silverlight, or does it just hit hard once their rings are removed and their prayer is not ranged? I'd be really interested to know. (If noone's worked that out yet, I'd be happy to try to).-- 20:41, 13 December 2008 (UTC)

I just tested with 50 vials of holy water and the demons seem to be immune to it. --Mussepossu 23:17, 26 December 2008 (UTC)
Thanks much...shame about that really...woulda been handy for staying outa range. Thanks again for testing my theory :).-- 15:15, 28 December 2008 (UTC)

Dragon Legs drop?[edit source]

Can someone confirm that these drop Dragon Platelegs? Because honestly I doubt they do...

Confirmed. These do Not drop Dragon Platelegs.

Ancient mace?[edit source]

Does the Favour of the War God special attack do anything to their prayer? WWTDD? 16:03, 21 January 2009 (UTC)

I would assume it doesn't since the article states they have infinite prayer. Axearmour1 01:27, 19 February 2009 (UTC)

Well, Sigmund seems to have infinite prayer, but the mace prevents him from protecting himself against melee, ranged and magic. WWTDD? 01:28, 19 February 2009 (UTC)

Attack descriptions?[edit source]

Could we get a visual description of the demons' mage/range attacks, or is it self-explanatory?--nekobawt 18:27, 4 February 2009 (UTC)

The magic attack is orange and draws an orange line behind it, the ranged attack is black and spikey and the melee attack draws white lines behind it while it smashes its claws to you.

Drop rates[edit source]

A 1:80 drop rate for each dragon platebody piece doesn't seem right at all, in my tormented demon experience I'd say it's closer to 1:200 for all pieces and 1:600 per piece. Lovely Sax 13:48, 5 April 2009 (UTC)

Rarity of drops needs to be revised. I have had 3 dragon claws drops in 300+ kills but never seen a rune kite, rune claws, rune arrows, rune/dragon med, rune/dragon spear, rune 2h. Drop rate of ruined parts seems even lower than for the dragon claws. In the time it took to get 3 dragon claws i only got 4 ruined parts. --Ruderion 14:41, 3 June 2009 (UTC)

I have to disagree on that i used to have claws about 1/100 and had 13 pair all around that rate but lately can't seen to get them. I don't know if they were updated but i'm on 460 kills without claws at all now =[ But i do agree on the odds for plate parts you mentioned, i have killed around 1.5k of them but only got 6 parts so far.

A Jmod has confirmed that drop rates have not been changed either ever or in a very long time. I'll try finding the QFC of the thread he mentions it in--Panama 1984 21:10, 3 August 2009 (UTC)

I think that the one who sudmit the drop list is a noob, like 3/4 drop are "extremely rare", which isn't that right, "rare" is true, but this guy look frustrated because he keep getting belladonna seeds? need a change i guess (btw, claws are 1/100 -1/200)

please DO NOT change the drop rates they keep geting deleted or changed and i even see it someday sayd the drop rates for d claws 15000Secrethunter 01:31, July 2, 2010 (UTC)

For every lucky noob that gets 3 claws in their first 300 kills there are many people who go thousands with a drop rate worse than 1/300. I would be very suprised if the drop rate is better than 1/200. It's probably in the range of 1/200-1/250, impossible to know better than that without logging hundreds of thousands of kills.

Rate of Rune Battleaxe and Rune 2h seems to be changed very rare->uncommon,I have seen just one 2h and two baxes after around 3500 kills and 13 claws. I'll change them back to very rare,

Max Hit[edit source]

can someone confirm their max hit? in my experience their max hit is 260, never saw a higher hit, while i've been there for days =)

I've been there for over a week, I'm pretty sure I've seen hits in the 300 with mage. (for range I think max is 260 and melee i don't even think hits 200) I don't know the exact hit of their max tbh

I can confirm that it's max hit with any style is 200 did over 2k kills and never saw anything higher than that

From the x10 update the highest ive been hit by mage/range is 269 and melee has maxed about 180 on me.

Slayer[edit source]

The stats say you can receive slayer XP from killing TDs. Nowhere is listed what task will allow you to receive this xp.  —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Ruderion (talk) on 18:37, April 30, 2009.

wouldnt it be demonds?  —The preceding unsigned comment was added by (talk) on 16:13, June 8, 2009.

It would be demons; but what type? There are three types of demon: Lesser, Greater and Black. You could also count Abyssal demons and Nechryaels as demons - all five of them have a different slayer task.
May I remind everyone to remember to sign your posts, with ~~~~. Quest.png Gaz Lloyd 7:^]Events!99s 16:31, 8 June 2009 (UTC)
i can confirm that Greater demons will NOT give you slayer xp. --Ruderion 13:12, 20 June 2009 (UTC)
Black demons do not give you slayer experience either. --User:Alectriciti August 5, 2009.

The max hit of TD's is 26, although when switching attack styles, tormented demons have the tendancy to use a 'special attack' which is basically just the normal magic attack, but alongside another attack, making their technical max hit 52 (2x26).

Steel Arrows[edit source]

Is a drop of 150 Steel Arrows really an "extremely rare" drop? I'd think they were "common", or "un-common" at best. Zaros symbol.pngChaos Monk Talk SignCoins 250.png 21:35, 19 July 2009 (UTC)

I'd say they're uncommon because players would be greatly disappointed if 1/2times one of their Rare drops was replaced by steel arrows, which you would not need at the that point. On an irrelevant note... why does the page first claim they have low defense, and on the second paragraph, claim they have "Extremely high" defense due to a fire shield..?

The fireshild makes the defence realy high, but when it is dissabled they have low defence

"Common" and "rare" etc. Does not denote the value of the goods, just how often it's dropped. Personally, i've killed hundreds of tormented demons (5+ claws or claw splits) and i'm pretty sure i've never had a steel arrow drop. Croutonicus 19:51, April 25, 2010 (UTC)

TDs piling[edit source]

I was just there with some friends and we had 4 attacking us at one point. Some were drawn over by some jerks trying to run us out, but we were definitely being attacked by 4. Mamabear47 11:32, 30 August 2009 (UTC)

i ran around in the chamber to see how many would attack me at a time, and after some rounds i stopped in a safespot. ALL of them were attacking me...

Strategy?[edit source]

i LOVE rs wiki, but, from the information on this page, or lack thereof, i would not feel confident in the least trying a solo trip . Can someone with experience killing them put more information on strategy? if they're praying against an attk style, can u still hit through the prayer? if they switch constantly to what ur using, how do they even die!? I want to go :( screenshots of inventories!? there is so much room for improvement here--Kyronwashere 14:30, November 5, 2009 (UTC)

No you can't hit through their prayer. They switch prayers about every 8 hp u hit em when shield is up and every 30 when shield is down. U lower their shield by using Darklight (no special needed). i solo them a lot and i advice u use darklight to lower their shield and then switch between ranged and d hally from a (partially) safe spot so ur safe from thei melee attacks and can switch ur prayer off when they're trying to melee you. For doing this i recommend u use the northern safe spot while keeping the other one wandering around there trapped. hope this helps if you have any further questions pm me in game or join my clanchat: Kbitb

Soloing tds is easy, if you have the stats. i have 99 str, 90 attack, 83 range, 71 prayer, and 68 summoning, and i can get 10-20 kills a trip, deppending on if i keep up on the prayer switchs. with out the stats youl need dragon hally, and c bow, and learn how to lure them so you can fc them. keep up with the prayers and youl get kills.

Similarity[edit source]

Maybe this should be added to the trivia. Anyone how has played the first God of War game probably knows about the part where you face the giant minotaur. Well once you take off all it's armor it looks almost exactly like a tormented demon. should that be added to the trivia? Life Points[edit source]

It seems that the lp value of 750 is much too low for these. I haven't done WGS and thus can't check myself, but I would imagine it's higher than this. Anyone?

They have 3260 lp; it's a mistake. But please sign your comment next time. Suppa chuppa Talk 01:25, April 8, 2010 (UTC)

claws rate[edit source]

on this page it says:

Dragon claws (rare: said to be a rate of about 1/150 kills)

on the claws page it says between 1/200 - 1/300...

change it? changed.

switching attack styles[edit source]

i was told that everytime a td roars, it switches its attack style. however, i read somewhere that when it roars there's a 50/50 chance it'll switch. from personal experience, sometimes it seems like it switches everytime it roars, but a couple times, it doesnt? i also noticed, it will roar when it brings up its fire shield and keep doing so while it remains up. it's very confusing, can someone clarify? am i misinterpreting roars, or does it NOT switch every single time?

i am under the impression they switch only when u protect from there attack, i can sit at a safe spot and not pray while one is on melee and it will not switch until i stop attacking or i pray (most of the time, there are rare occaisions where it will switch randomly, possibly from one of the updates that is soposed to make them harder). as for the roar i dont ever have the sound on but there are distinctions when they switch, but there very small distinctions in the animation when they switch

clue[edit source]

I just got a clue drop(lvl3) from tormented demon. Don't know how to add it there tho ;P =D

Level 4 clues are obtainable via TDs, I can personally confirm this.    Seil      Talk      HS    15:16, August 8, 2010 (UTC)

claw drop rate numbers removed[edit source]

Currently drop rate numbers (ex: 1/250) are not listen on many other monsters in this wikia and personally would love to see this wikia uniform and not based on random data from people who might not be able to kill the dropper of such reward. I could show data that whip drop rare is 1/150 but this game gets updated and that is no longer the case therefore listing "rate numbers" on the main part of any artical is foolish.Branmans 23:52, August 13, 2010 (UTC)

Then {{Userbox/Hates false rates}} is for you. Coelacanth0794 23:53, August 13, 2010 (UTC)

TD Counter[edit source]

hey i have created an kill-counter for tormented demons and it create reality drops of them its based on 12400 kills maybe worth to be in the guide?

Its just a beta so far

They also drop court summons, if someone could add them in.Rozkipz 15:34, February 7, 2011 (UTC)

Just got 500 noted big bones, guessing this is from the new weath ring drops.

Charm Rate[edit source]

In my experience the charm drop rate is far higher then this claims. I did a proportion z test and confirmed my results, out of 32 kills there were only 3 times that I failed to receive any charms. I am not sure exactly what charm rate is off but I do know that the "no charms" category is off.

I think this wiki's record of 1,682 kills is more statistically accurate than your record of 32 kills. --Andorin (Talk) (Contribs) 05:09, May 26, 2011 (UTC)
I would agree but if you know anything about statistics you would see my point. Based on my 1 proportion z test, the odds that my 3 out of 32 no charm events were obtained merely by chance is less than .001%. I'm not saying that the actual no charm drop rate is about 10%, I am saying it is not almost 50%. Ask other players who kill them often, they will all say that TDs drop blue charms often but in the log blue charms are barely higher than any other charms and are still less than 20%. My point is, there is incorrect data. 23:44, May 26, 2011 (UTC)
I have completely reconstructed this charm log, but there was still one semi-suspicious entry that I included. If you could run your 1-prop Z test again and tell me if you still fail to accept the hypothesis, I'd really appreciate it. Suppa chuppa Talk 00:13, May 27, 2011 (UTC)
Thank you, and the numbers you posted seem much more accurate. I only have 32 kills but the numbers you posted seem much closer to being correct. If you want the data, there is a 49.47% probability that my results were obtained completely by chance, in other words, it is very likely that the statistics there right now are the correct ones. If somebody has a large number of kills that they know the numbers to I can check with more accuracy but it would have to be a lot more than 32, probably around 320 would be more accurate. Overall, it looks good.

Changing styles vs Area Magic[edit source]

Is there any difference in the demon's emote when it is preparing to do its special attack and when it is switching attack styles?

Apparently the roar isn't as loud -Altzae 17:36, January 23, 2012 (UTC)

Spin Ticket Drop[edit source]

I just did a trip and got a spin ticket drop, wasn't sure if that was worth mentioning, but I didn't see it on the drop table.

Loot for 4 hours[edit source]

I killed these demons for 4 hours. I got about like 9 Dragon claws. Which was beast! I will try Ring of wealth. Who knows maybe i get more. With the other drops i made about like 50-90 Mill in these four hours.

Drop rate of dragon limbs?[edit source]

Does anyone know a possible drop rate for dragon limbs? I've killed 400 tormented demons and gotten a drop, and my friend's killed about as many and has gotten two. Logialian (talk) 05:45, September 6, 2013 (UTC)

where are they ?[edit source]

I checked your three articles and none told me where they are or how to get there.  —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 2602:304:b296:d5a0:11d8:5974:c208:ac16 (talk) on 00:06, 13 June 2019 (UTC).
