Use for bursting/barraging[edit source]
This would be the ideal barraging offhand: Combine it with SOL and you get +15% dmg AND free water runes :) Purepout 15:28, April 16, 2010 (UTC)

Wouldnt this be useless for FOG, because you get runes? only useful when you are planning on using all 1000 elemental runes.
Are you sure you have read the wikia about Tome of Frost? The Tome of frost will never degrade, which makes it the ideal for mages, it also provides the highest F2P magic bonus for the offhand. Giving +10 Magic Bonus
