Update Concerns[edit source]

By creating new accounts and buying membership for those accounts you can exchange rs money for irl money. Jagex has basicly introduced legit RWTing into the game. {C}^ Not really considering all you can get is lucky items...however the 10M reward does concern me...people won't even have to make mem accs since money is f2p...anyway at least it gives me a chance to make my bank back hahaa, but i hope they reconsider the 10M at least...

About lucky items...even if they are untradable and (maybe) degrade they will make some stuff crash. For sure there will be a panic crash next ge update, but in the long run stuff will drop a bit. Why would you go to a bandos trip with real armor if u can just go with lucky and dont risk anything? gg. Also, although the chances of getting 1 are a bit low theres gonna be 200k+ spins a day and i so many ppl will get for sure

Question 3: Because people who are making new accounts to get more chances at gp actually care about runescape rules. That was sarcastic. A better argument would be that they have to invest in thousands of accounts and the pay for investment is too low if they buy pins before having them do dailies. Didn't make a note of my own lamp.... but from looking at the numbers above, a medium lamp seems to give double the xp of a small one (eg 7533xp @ lvl 95 for small; 15,[email protected] lvl 95 for medium). And if we look at the small sample we have for huge lamps then it would seem that huge = 2 x large = 4 x medium = 8 x small 83.218.30.109 00:47, February 29, 2012 (UTC)

From the Data i have gathered it is clear that From Small to Med is x2 , Med to Large is x2 , Large to Huge is x2. Also the xp is capped when it reaches level 98.

It seems that the formula for the Huge lamp, and by extension, the small, medium and large ones, contain an x^3. I cannot find any exact formula, but a decent approximation is 'experience = (x^3)/15'. This approximation is only a few k off at higher levels.
Yeah, your approximation seems the be close to the values at hand, but in order to narrow down the linear and quadratic factors (to make the formula more accurate) we need more values, 6 values like this isn't enough to get a good fit.
Silanu: Noting that this function is nontrivial. Presuming that each tier higher for lamp is simply a factor of 2ax where a is the number of tiers from the lowest table and x is the experience granted from the lowest table, then the lowest table can be used to approximate a proper function for all of the tables. The issue is, if you take the differences between the experiences granted for each two subsequent entries in the small lamp table, you'll notice that the function is not continuously increasing. In fact, if often decreases and then increases. This is why a simple cubic polynomial is not accurate enough for approximating the table. There are two scenarios I see here:
1) Jagex manually developed a table and made the decisions on which levels should receive a bigger jump in experience
or 2) There are inaccuracies in the data, perhaps by entry or because the specific and general lamps may give different amounts of experience. Another thing to consider is there may be randomization in the experience given. I've received a lot of lamps in the last few days. After realizing how complex these values are, I am going to take better note of the experiences I receive and hopefully get back to you on whether a quantitative function is devisable.
