Do you need level to be able to kill them for them to appear? With herblore someone at level 88 slayer should be able to kill one.Exd3ath 20:53, September 19, 2010 (UTC)

I'm fairly certain they can be encountered solo.

I dont know if its the faster dungeons thanks to Eoc, or that I've been dungeoneering a bit more lately. But Post Eoc it "feels" like I get slightly more gazers in floors. (drop rates still awful though 15ish no hex)

Also someone noted on the front page "VERY IMPORTANT NOTE THAT KILLING SOULGAZER WITH BLOOD NECKLACE, DEFLECTS, OR WRATH/RETRIBUTION WILL CAUSE IT TO DROP NOTHING." In game I've heard another rumor that if you kill a gazer after the boss is dead (which is common rushing practice for idles waitin for their gate's key to show up, to start boss while others are still pathing the dungeon), that gazers drop nothing (unconfirmed). But I do know from personal experience that post EOC, I'm 99 slayer, I've killed 2 gazers (with multiple people also attacking) and seen nothing get droped 2/3 post EOC gazers I've seen, I'm not sure if it has something to do with the tag system, were first person to tag it got the drop and it was just invisible to me, or if there was just no drop. Both times it did not appear that the person looted the empty square where the gazer droped, but that could be because the invisible loot wouldn't show up for 1 minute?  It may be worth it to gate the location of a gazer death and come back a minute later incase there's some kind of tag system bug that leads to a temp invisible drop or something, and report back to the wiki any findings. 02:50, November 30, 2012 (UTC)neokyle

4 gazers and 2 edi's total NO drops, I've submitted a very thourough bug report. first 2 edi and gazers I wasn't paying attention, the last 2 I know the boss was dead before we killed them. Also I gated the location of the death spot of 1 gazer and teleported back to it 2 minutes later, incase the tag system caused some kind of glitch and made it invisible to everyone for 1 minute, but alas I come back 2 minutes later and still nothing, there's just no drop, thats not bad luck and I'm not the only one. 06:32, December 1, 2012 (UTC)neokyle

I posted about 4 gazer's no drop on RSOF: many players say drops are fine for them. While some other players agree that drops are messed up and droping nothing. I theorize that the drops get messed up under certain conditions only. 

1 person rsof said they got a drop from tagging first, another said they and their clan killed it together, and got drop.

Theory 1: Maybe if you tag a gazer and it drops the drop is invisible to everyone else (and invisibility wasn't noticed in those situations)

Theory 2: If you kill boss first slayer monsters drop nothing, this is common practice for rushers, and I do this all the time. (It would explain why it only seems to happen to some people.)

Theory 3: They just changed the drop rates and a drop of nothing is far more common than it used to be. 17:20, December 1, 2012 (UTC)neokyle

I can assure you that theories 1 and 3 are not true, I have lost several hexes because 80- slayers tagged them first and everyone saw the drops. I have yet to see a nothing drop from close to a dozen gazers and a load of eddimus. I have not killed any gazers after killing the boss, but I have had several ssh drops after killing the boss. 02:29, December 4, 2012 (UTC)

Agreed with the post above, yet it is again possible that you're unable to collect the hex drop when you did the most damage. It is currently unknown how or when this is going to be fixed. Even when you're the only 99 slayer in the team, the first one who tagged the gazer will receive drop.

About the theory of not receiving hexes (or necks from eddi's) after boss is dead, I'm not sure. I've seen a certrain amount of other slayer drops (like boots from jellies or hoods from night spiders) after boss was killed. 16:28, December 4, 2012 (UTC)
