AFK[edit source]

Since there's no requirement to actually do anything, and you always get the same points no matter what you've done/not done, this could be a great place to stay whilst watching a film or something similar- Just my thoughts. EDIT: you can not join a game at the last minute and recieve a point, it clearly says when the game is over "you have joined the game late, you do not recieve any point's."

It's obviously not going to stay that way for long. Jagex isn't fond of people getting rewarded for doing nothing in minigames. WWTDD? 16:59, 10 February 2009 (UTC)
The problem still exists in Castle Wars. You don't need to do anything, but you still get the points if youe team wins. Perhaps Jagex needs to look into that as well...  Tien  17:11, 10 February 2009 (UTC)
OK, Thanks for replying, it doesn't seem to be against the rules, but it does seems 'unsporting', So I think I'll not 17:16, 10 February 2009 (UTC)
Mabey they will do something where you need to get 'x' number or soul fragments or deal 'y' damage to the avatar or a formula puting the two togeter (ex. you need to deal 100 damage to the avatar, but each soul frament you put in counts as 5 damage)Mathwiz908 23:09, 10 February 2009 (UTC)
All you really need to do to be of use is stand in one of the 'contested' areas. IE graveyards/pillar thingie. 23:44, 10 February 2009 (UTC)
- They changed it, you get kicked out of the game now for being inactive. and when you join in too late, you don't get zeal, so be careful. SpF 12/29/09

Summoning pets[edit source]

If you offer a stuffed Slayer creature to the guy, will he take it from you? I have a stuffed Crawling hand in my house, and I don't really want to lose it.  Tien  17:11, 10 February 2009 (UTC)

I have no experience with this, but my guess is that he will take the sample from you. WWTDD? 17:12, 10 February 2009 (UTC)
If it's already in your house, you can't get it back anyways. If you remove it you lose the hand. Psycho Robot 03:41, 11 February 2009 (UTC)
I think that they made it possible to take the stuffed animal from your house, but i know that he will take it from you. You also need a certain amount of zeal points to trade with him so that you can get it turned into a pet. Shadesleer 17:17, 15 February 2009 (UTC)
well you can give a stuffed head, however you can not get one back from the wall of your poh... so if you have stuffed it, but not placed it in your house its fine, but you cant get it back from the wall (as of now)

Song Unlocks?[edit source]

Are there any songs associated with Soul Wars? --Hatchenator 17:45, 10 February 2009 (UTC)

Yes, two songs "the Waiting game" for when you're in the game lobby, and "Soul Wars" for when you're actually playing the game. Gargoyle icon.pngNoble faufIvandis flail.png 18:01, 10 February 2009 (UTC)

Please expand the Rewards section[edit source]

Seriously how much do charms cost, we've got to figure this stuff out and stuff (lol). I'll do my part to as well, once when i'm in game... ~kytti khat 19:20, 10 February 2009 (UTC)

Im also interested in the reward formulas, but have to go to bed soon. Hope to get answer tomorrow, charms are so slow.. -Kasa pina

I've put the figures from myself and a few friends in a table, and it looks very similar to the organisation of Pest Control points - Several levels next to each other give the same experience, and there are four groups of experience gains. The first group, giving the most experience per zeal, includes attack, defence, strength and hitpoints. The second group giving slightly less is magic and ranged. prayer is on its own in the third group giving less than the others, and finally slayer which gives less than a fifth of the experience that prayer does. I have not been able to determine if the number of charms you get are dependant on combat level or summoning level because nobody I know who has been to the minigame has skill levels that would let me differentiate. Obsidian charm.png Magma2050 T C E Obsidian charm.png 22:34, 10 February 2009 (UTC) - EDIT - I have just looked on the runescape forums and some helpful fellow with the same summoning level as me but a much higher overall combat level has posted his stats and rewards - The number of charms you get would seem to depend on your summoning level only, as our rewards are identical. Obsidian charm.png Magma2050 T C E Obsidian charm.png 22:45, 10 February 2009 (UTC)

I've gone away, collated a few more bits of data, and tried a few things with the Pest Control formula "=CEILING((Level+25)*(Level-24)/606,1)*N". If you put in N=525 for the melee skills, 480 for the magic and ranged skills and 270 for prayer, you get values that match most of what I have collected as listed below. The only one that doesn't match is 85 atk/str/def/hp (possibly due to a typo so if anyone who has 85 in one of those skills can double check, it would be helpful), and I haven't matched up the formula with the slayer yet. I think I'll leave it for other people to experiment with because it's getting late, but I think it shows that the Pest Control formula is the way to go here.

Attack/Defence/Strength/Hitpoints: 85, 5775 xp. 86-87, 6300xp. 90, 6825xp. 92, 6825xp. 94, 7350xp. 95-96, 7875xp. 99, 8400xp.

Magic/Ranged: 83, 5280xp. 86-87, 5760xp. 90, 6240xp. 93, 6720xp. 96, 7200xp. 99, 7680xp.

Prayer: 70-71, 2160xp. 76, 2430xp. 90, 3510xp.

Slayer: 63, 540xp. 79, 810xp. 88, 990xp.

Obsidian charm.png Magma2050 T C E Obsidian charm.png 23:39, 10 February 2009 (UTC)

With my current stats (including 81 summoning, see my user page) I am offered:

  • 36 blue charms for 30 Zeal,
  • 26 crimson for 12 Zeal,
  • 27 green for 5 Zeal, and
  • 41 gold for 4 Zeal.

Does that work right with the formula you've worked up? ~kytti khat 02:38, 11 February 2009 (UTC)

For magic xp i'm at level 97 and can get 7200xp per zeal. ~kytti khat 04:03, 11 February 2009 (UTC)

Based on the Pest Control formula, I independently tested different numbers and came to the same conclusion that Magma did. I checked slayer, made an equation (N=101.25), got the level up, and it still applied. And kytti, yes, the equation for magic works for your lv.

So the list looks like:

  • ATK/DEF/STR/HP: N = 525
  • Prayer: N = 270
  • Ranged/Magic: N = 480
  • Slayer: N = 101.25

Dsctatom 06:18, 11 February 2009 (UTC) Could another person post how much of each charm they can get? The more info I have the easier it will be to create a formula. Dsctatom 06:28, 11 February 2009 (UTC)

Using 101.25 for slayer suggests at 86 slayer I should get 1215xp, but I get 990. If I set N=82.5 it works for my level, but breaks the other value I have. Also, these formulae run out below 25 in any level, suggesting that people with levels below 25 cannot exchange for xp, is this right? It would be helpful to get some input from any lower level people who could go there - it is a safe minigame after all, and all that we need is information from the reward window which can be viewed without even playing a game. Obsidian charm.png Magma2050 T C E Obsidian charm.png 07:14, 11 February 2009 (UTC)

I think if you're below lv 25 you just get N exp. Because it's doing equation*N or 1*N. If the equation is less than 1, then it defaults to 1. I'll keep messing with slayer. I'm assuming the entire equation is different then. Dsctatom 07:31, 11 February 2009 (UTC)
cb = 91. att=75/4725, str=66/3675, def=65/3675, hp=70/4200, range=58/2400, mage=70/3840, slay=47/315.
charms - gold=4/23, green=5/15, crimson=12/15, blue=30/19. Hope this helps Dgtns 10:53, 11 February 2009 (UTC)

Someone on the Runescape forums has compiled a list of all of the slayer xp given at levels 30-99 (below, separated by commas). He says that the formula above 30 is lvl^2/7.5, rounded up to the nearest 45. The data supports this as there is a clear gap of 45 between each group of numbers. If the actual formula used is a CEILING function, then clearly the final multiplier would have to be 45. He also points out that some other multiplier is going on below lvl 30 slayer, so we may be dealing with a more complex function or a set of functions for each skill. Seeing as the Pest Control formula does not extend below lvl 25 in any skill, and the Pest Control guide specifically states that no skill under 25 can receive experience, and that Soul Wars does not have any such restriction, we really need more data from all of the lower levels in all skills before we can figure out how this system differs. EDIT: I've played around and the following formula is close... VERY close but not perfect: Slayer xp = CEILING((B32+9)*(B32-10)/(7.5*45),1)*45 (NOT working on 3 levels between 30 and 99, or any levels below 30)

Slayer xp (lvl 30-99): 135, 135, 135, 135, 135, 180, 180, 180, 180, 225, 225, 225, 225, 225, 270, 270, 270, 315, 315, 315, 315, 360, 360, 360, 405, 405, 405, 450, 450, 450, 495, 495, 495, 540, 540, 585, 585, 585, 630, 630, 675, 675, 675, 720, 720, 765, 765, 810, 810, 810, 855, 855, 900, 900, 945, 945, 990, 990, 1035, 1035, 1080, 1125, 1125, 1170, 1170, 1215, 1215, 1260, 1260, 1305.

Slayer formula[edit source]

okay so I'm looking at "Slayer xp = CEILING((B32+9)*(B32-10)/(7.5*45),1)*45" formula, being close, but then i realised, "B32"? (i've heard of B-52s) then i realised, you sank my battleship. ~kytti khat 23:22, 11 February 2009 (UTC)

I lol'd. I'm guessing the cell B32 would be the slayer level? Quest.png Gaz Lloyd 7:^]Events!99s 23:46, 11 February 2009 (UTC)

I have to say, the rewards for this game are quite a lot. I forsee in the near future a nerf on the rewards. I shouldn't be able to get 40k prayer and 120k magic experience in 6 hours, just from rewards. Doesn't that seem really high? Not to mention all of the str/hp experience I got from training there... I wouls suggest playing this as much as you can before the rewards get hit like PC. Karlis (talk) (contribs) 14:48, 12 February 2009 (UTC)

Im not too sure about that. When PC came out, it sure gave a lot of experience, BUT the game also ended extremely fast so it gave a lot of points. Soul wars is different. It gives a lot of experience, but games finishes in 20 minutes and the max points we can get is only 9....and that is only if you are lucky to win all 3 games in a row.Santa hat.png Powers38 おはようヾ(´・ω・`) 23:51, 12 February 2009 (UTC)

Yes, B32 is the reference for one of the possible slayer levels in my spreadsheet. Damn you, copy-paste and/or lack of sleep. Please consider the above almost-working formula to read: Slayer xp = CEILING((Slayer+9)*(Slayer-10)/(7.5*45),1)*45 Obsidian charm.png Magma2050 T C E Obsidian charm.png 18:59, 12 February 2009 (UTC)

lol i was just teasing about b32, i'm very spreadsheet and number oriented, but i still want my battleship back. ~kytti khat 04:13, 13 February 2009 (UTC)

40k prayer and 120k magic xp in 6 hours is pathetic (20k magic xp/hour <mage arena is way faster>) and (6.6k pray xp/hour) considering most people in the game wear armours, i doubt you can train effectively on them too. i would say the combat xp is almost the same as training at rock crabs  —The preceding unsigned comment was added by (talk) on 23:20, February 17, 2009.

40k prayer exp 6h-1 and 120k magic exp 6h-1 is taking into consideration exchanging your rewarded zeal points for the experience rewards. Considering you're earning full combat and slayer experience while playing the game, the amount of experience recieved is actually surprisingly high. Plus combat skills can be trained independantly of hitpoints, like PC, at a faster rate (as long as you win a lot of games). Unless a level restriction is put in place (which I don't think would be good), I can see a lot of 'def pures' and 'slayer pures' popping up from this, as they can train while doing very little (AKA freeloading). • Hey, I was just curious if you could clarify on how to put that equation to use. If you could do that, then i wouldn't mind taking the time to put a table or two on the mainpage to show the experience.

Hey, can some people check this slayer formula with theirs? The one said about previously doesn't work for mine, but this one does: =ROUNDUP((lvl^2/7.5)/45,0)*45

No, that formula does not work, here is the data I have collected from people to help out on the slayer formula, also I added an explanation on the sw page on how to calculate using my formulas --

"At level 43 summoning, it costs 30 points for 19 Blue Charms Mchief111 17:09, 16 February 2009 (EST)"

My Username is "Kingkoly" my summoning level is 43. I get 29 Blue charms for the 30 points. My Combat level is 104. Other Info: 81 HP. 79 Attack. 80 Str. 79 Ranged. 78 Mage.

Things i think you might want to think about. Combat level without summoning. Maybe the amount of points deters on your lowest combat skill/highest/average.

I fixed the Wiki page to include the correct formulae for Attack to Prayer. Somehow they were changed. Slayer however is still a question. Considering that 1-29 slayer doesn't get any XP for exchanging zeal, the formula no longer contains a floor(level^2/600) term. What exactly the number is instead of 600, and whether even it's quadratic (it probably still is) I do not know.

Equipment Stats bug???[edit source]

I just reported this to runescape, but when you click on equipment stats you are in spirit / dead form you can see yourself in that form. I can't get a picture of it, but it would be good to have. Mathwiz908 23:15, 10 February 2009 (UTC)

That is not a bug. The stats screen will display whatever you look like at the moment, be it a monkey, penguin, ghost, or human. 03:50, 11 February 2009 (UTC)

Soul War creature question[edit source]

If your slayer task is say, pyrefiends, if you kill them in the minigame do they count to the number of kills? Mathwiz908 23:31, 10 February 2009 (UTC)

They are raising my slayer stat, so I assume they are counting towards my kill requirement. Dgtns 10:48, 11 February 2009 (UTC)

Soul Wars XP question[edit source]

1. what happens if you have 200m xp? 2. if you get 50,000 points and have a 99, you would get 420,000,000 xp. i can see SOMEBODY doing this (eventually) and 'tricking' those 'most xp per day' things. 420m overall xp in one day, anyone?

No this would be possible, as the maximum amount of experiece you can get in a skill is maxed out at 200m, the exp does not get gained, also you can only redeem 100 zeal at a time so once they theoretically reached 200,000,000 xp it wouldnt be added on anyway.

Ring of Wealth question[edit source]

Does wearing a ring of wealth help improve your odds of getting a good reward from gamble? Also who here has been using ring of wealth to determin rewards? Mathwiz908 00:00, 11 February 2009 (UTC)

I haven't done so but I'm pretty sure ROW will NOT give you better rewards in gamble, since it's designed to target on only monster drops. Red X 226 00:23, 11 February 2009 (UTC)
But dosn't ROW help with gameling in Barbarian Assult? So why wouldn't it also be done for this? Mathwiz908 02:35, 11 February 2009 (UTC)
A wealth only helps for better monster drops. Treasure trails, Barbarian Assault, Soul wars, or anything that is not monster drops are not affected. 03:45, 11 February 2009 (UTC)

Elysian[edit source]

Someone posted a picture showing that they got an elasyian spirit shield from gambling in the game. Can someone confirm this? There is a small chance that the on who added the picture used paint or photoshop to make it look like it. --King x treme 00:27, 11 February 2009 (UTC)

I added this picture, it is posted in the forums of my clan, and it is not me. Not sure if they edited it, i tried to zoom in on it, didn't see any "twix" And I also saw someone on the rs forums saying that they got a elysian as well.--Nosa

I read that part of the forums. Lots of people say its fake... if there is a video or something that may prove it, then the minigame might give it as a reward. --King x treme 00:49, 11 February 2009 (UTC)

Apparently it is possible to purchase on summoning tanks, but on pure summoners (all combat stats one except for summoning) it appears to be impossible. I'm level 63 Summoning, 11 combat and it says my combat level is too low. Do you think the lowest combat level possible is 15 (99 summoning+1 all stats)?Axazar 03:42, 10 March 2009 (UTC)

It might be that the amount of charms is calculated on the combat level without summoning,
you get 4 : 14gold, 5 : 9 green, 12 : 9 crimson, 30 : 12 blue, with 69cb (att 53 str 53 def 50 ranged 62 mage 57 hp 58 pray 46 sum 20 and slayer 26)

I Myself am a Prayer pure, 15 combat and 98 prayer. I get 4 : 2 gold, 5 : 2 green, 9 : 2 crimson, 30 : 2 blue. Anyways, a better way to train a summoning pure would be to have a high level help you by lootsharing monsters.. - Lord Henck -

guys - heres my problem. i am making a skiller and i thought i should full only train summoning so that i can have an awesome summoning level and still be level 3 on f2p. I tried to get charms to train, it failed. you need combat levels. I then trained prayer to see if that would give me the combat level to receive charms, That failed aswell. i am currently training summoning by using genie lamps, i have 34 summoning and 51 prayer and combat level of 14 in p2p and 9 in f2p. I therefore assume you need an att, str, def, hp, mage or ranged skill to recieve zeal. This lack of charms is currently frustrating me alot in my quest for a 99 summoning pure :P

I'm at 136 combat and only get the charms offered for 135 combat on the rewards page.

I'm at 137 combat and the chart looks right except I get 53 golds not 52.

I'm at 67 combat and the chart says I get 14 Gold Charms but the game says I get 10 Gold Charms

I'm at 136 combat and offered 41 blues not 45 as the chart says.

I'm at combat 137 (Att, Str, Def, Rng, Mgc, Cst: 99; Pry: 93; Smn: 97) and offered 41 Blues O3 Depleter 05:55, February 5, 2012 (UTC)

Gambling and fakes[edit source]

A while ago someone had listed an Elysian spirit shield as a possible reward from the gamble, this was removed (not by me). I have just removed Saradomin Sword and Armadyl Godsword from the list. In my opinion it is INCREDIBLY unlikely that they are a possible reward, no matter HOW rare they are. As the game is set up, a player can gamble after playing just one game. Do you really think that it is possible that Jagex would want it to be possible for a level 3 player to get a very valuable item after only 20 minutes of playing a new minigame? I think that we should air on the side of caution in this respect, and remove any suspiciously valuable items from the list until there is more data and testimony from reliable sources. Psycho Robot 03:36, 11 February 2009 (UTC)

They are most definently fakes, for many reasons. The picture was well made, but there were several holes in it. Things were off by a few pixels, names were not properly written, things like that. So far the majority of the rewards are summoning seconds. 03:47, 11 February 2009 (UTC)
Should we take careful consideration on gambled items that are neither Prayer- or Summoning-related (except coins)? I'm just worried that they might be fakes without backup data, since someone added rune longsword into the list. Red X 226 04:40, 11 February 2009 (UTC)
I noticed that too. It might be a legitimate reward, since a rune long is only about 20k, but it is the only item not related to summoning and prayer, so I think it should be scratched. I looked at the history and that edit was made by an unregistered user, so that's a clue that its not a reliable edit. I'll remove it now. Psycho Robot 04:56, 11 February 2009 (UTC)
