Hopefully you can't buy items for RL money as I feared when I've seen this store, but it looks like Jagex is desperate on money - you can buy titles and changes to weapon's appearances, emotes etc. Just tell me when the riot begins and I'll join. Xeoxer (talk) 11:26, July 17, 2012 (UTC)

Damn them!

Of all the things they are doing nowadays, they might aswell be selling gp for irl coins. if they need money, SELL THEIR TANK! they have just gone downhill ever since prayer point x10 update Monkfish.pngAgrith sethtalkFishing rod.png 13:28, July 17, 2012 (UTC)

Eh, I don't think it will come to that. Nothing in the shop is truely needed. More like a nice reskin or changed animation. The only real piece of gear is the Achievement Banner, and all it does is shows your name, a motto, and your stats, all without spamming chat. Nothing, so far, will give someone with money a clear advantage over someone without money. IMO, this is the best sort of Real Life money for In-Game items shop. Just clothes/weapon reskins, goofy/awesome animation changes, titles and emotes. If nothing more then that is added, then I see no problem with the shop. It is not like the Squeel of Fortune and buying spins. Those items can be used in game and can give the advantage over people without money. Phantom5582 (talk) 16:27, July 17, 2012 (UTC)

Perhaps you didn't read the RS forums. Someone spent $900 to get 99 in everything on spins for the squeal of fortune. Read it here: $900 for max Dragon11 6 (talk) 19:37, July 17, 2012 (UTC)

I found the guy that spent the $900. Link:,182,63,63839403 Constitution cape.png Vlastne Quest point cape.png 19:56, July 17, 2012 (UTC)
I think what I meant was misunderstood a bit. I'm cool with Solomon's Shop, no advantage is given with those items and that is how I want it to be. Buying spins on the wheel is not something I like. Phantom5582 (talk) 22:10, July 17, 2012 (UTC)
Truthfully, this does have benifits. Thinking from a market views, making it where people buy items from you, the company, means you get more money. And having more money means you can
-Keep your current workers.
-Able to maintain and update the server(s).
-Able to afford the new tech for updating the servers.
-Able to not go bankrupt.
So, while players may... well, will get upset with it, they should remember that no one is forcing them to use the shop, and that if they want more updates and the ability to play they need to know Jagex has the right to make money. Course, I'm not 100% happy with it, it's understandable in the market sense.
Just my say in it.

storm is coming...

nobody is complaining about it now but soon it'll just be like Nexon's cash shops, there will be riots over this, I can feel it... Extreme133 (talk) 13:58, July 17, 2012 (UTC)

SQUEAL OF FORTUNE (and Solomon's General Store) WALKTHROUGH

It's a new "feature" that will eventually render membership obsolete. Gold coins and "skilling" will dissapear, and instead Jagex will begin selling armor and levels for real world money. They will make exponentially the profit over the poor saps that will actually still play ($500 for full plate dragon and $1k per 99 skill irl i'd estimate), but the millions who quit will just be too much. The game is dying.

Note: This isn't the J-mods' fault, because they no longer call the shots at Jagex. They're merely the code monkeys, being forced to kill their own company and careers at the behest of some American investment company that will kill Jagex just like they have dozens of other online gaming companies. Ever bothered to research those "other online games" that Jagex keeps claiming they outlived? IVP is killing the online gaming industry {except for WoW} to the tune of billions of dollars per year.

Welcome to your future, Jagex. You have none!

Break free of this company.

Before it's too late.

As much as I don't like it, they have every right to do it. Three reasons:

1. They have every right to sell their own property. RWT sites illegally sell Jagex property.

2. These items give no in-game advantages so they are not hypocrites.

3. Would you rather be forced to pay more for membership or have this OPTIONAL payment?

Honestly, I think selling membership, which is the useful part of the game, for a nice price and then selling the useless for another price is fair. One thing I think they are going downhill is that the price of SoF spins and runecoins are higher then membership!
