There has been some confusion about the spec. DOES it require you to not hit a 0 to heal? Omnicoder 20:45, 17 September 2008 (UTC)

No, you CAN hit a 0, and still get healed. Basically, you can hit a "miss" 0 or a "hit" 0 when attacking, (Though magic replaces the "miss" 0 with splashing). Think about it this way, for every attack, there is a wheel that is spun. There are "hit" slots and "miss" spaces on the wheel. The amount of each is based on your attack level and your opponent's defence level. All "Miss" hit's appear as 0. If it lands on a "hit" space, a second wheel spins. All attacks that land on "Hit" appear from 0 to your max hit, depending on where the second wheel lands. The Saradomin Godsword special attack requires you to land on a "hit" slot, then the amount healed depends completely on the hit, anything less than or equal to 21, including 0, will heal 10 hp and 5 prayer. Zamorak godsword works the same way, your opponent gets frozen as long as you "hit", though unlike Sgs, the amount of the effect is constant, your opponent is always frozen for 20 seconds, regardless of hit. Rewritten for better clarity. Inelcirc 21:23, 15 October 2008 (UTC)

But, I'm not sure it's accurate. I don't think there are any 'red splotch' hits for zero; they are blue ('miss'). But if you use the special, any 'attack' (not 'hit') gets the minimum. I don't at present have the sword and don't want to cash in my other items to buy one for now -- maybe later. Inelcirc 00:12, 30 October 2008 (UTC)

Yeah, it is inaccurate, you always hit a blue splotch for 0. My original description for how you get healed was more accurate, though i'm too lazy to re-type, i'll copy and paste my description above onto the article if you want, or you can, personally I think it's alot clearer. Spec[edit source]

The article doesn't mention how many times you can use the special attack in a row. Could someone please clarify? I personally don't know, but am very interested :) Rendova 18:20, 10 November 2008 (UTC)

You can use it twice in a row. WWTDD? 18:21, 10 November 2008 (UTC)

Yeah, as Sir Revan125 said, it uses 50% of the special attack bar per special attack. Lord Sean 8 21:41, 15 November 2008 (UTC)

Summoning?[edit source]

Someone I just met beneath the Lighthouse said that it restores HP, Prayer and Summoning. Since she had a Saradomin Godsword, I think she'd be a fairly reliable source of information, though confirmation from another source would be nice. WWTDD? 21:00, 24 November 2008 (UTC)

It doesn't seem to restore Summoning points. I checked it myself. WWTDD? 14:48, 14 January 2009 (UTC)

Lending Price[edit source]

I know some people lend Godswords and other things to people for money. How much does this price usually range right now?

Ju Juitsu 10:49, 23 December 2008 (UTC)

It is going from free from friends to many hundreds of thousands on the street for 24 hours, it really depends on how nice the person is for them to lend it to you. Santa hat.png Rikutheal Talk Saradomin godsword.png 02:01, October 7, 2009 (UTC)

The lending price may range from free if you have a good friend that happens to have one to hundreds of thousands of gp depending on the owner willing to lend or how much you are willing to pay and also the length of time. So the price range can be from 0gp-100,000K+ (so almost any amount of gold that you are willing to pay)

Hope this helps not very clear but i dont borrow the saradomin godsword very much from other people i usually get it from friend. Thanks and Happy Editing - Slayer helmet.png Hmanballer talk | edit count | sign | HS Fire cape.png 02:39, October 7, 2009 (UTC)

Enhanced Excalibur[edit source]

I wonder if enhanced excalibur should be mentioned, considering the fact that it heals 200 life points with 100% of the special attack bar, which is the same as the Godsword if you hit between 1 and 200 both times. Plus, it doesn't need to hit something, and costs practically nothing gp-wise. Just a thought. Joshuamonkey 22:37, October 8, 2010 (UTC)

Damage boost[edit source]

The game manual stats that the Saradomin Godsword can hit up to 10% over its max hit.

Saradomin godsword
Healing Blade
Can inflict up to 10% max hit damage and restores half of this damage to your lifepoints, and a small percentage to your Prayer. You will receive a minimum of 100 life points and 5 Prayer.

I think the 'up to' part means it isn't a constant 10% boost every special like the ags spec (at 25%) is, but rather its a 10% str increase meaning you could hit 10% over your max but its not exactly boosting every hit by 10%, just your max for that particular special.Mofo Pr0 11:11, August 3, 2011 (UTC)

Theres also been alot of people who think that all godsword special attacks seem to have a +10% str increase to their specials beside the main effect. This can be seen in the max hit calculator because the ags's boost isn't listed at 25%, but rather 35%. This would mean actual boosts of the godsword are 10% for sgs and zgs because the game add's a 10% boost to any godsword preforming a special attack. Again, i'm not positive, I haven't done any tests of my own, just read the tests of others.Mofo Pr0 11:15, August 3, 2011 (UTC)

Incorrect healing formulas as of 2011-11-05[edit source]

User:AndorinKato and I are trying to see whether the following paragraph in Saradomin godsword is still true as of the New Prayer Points update:

The Saradomin Godsword has a Special attack called Healing Blade. When used, half (1/2, rounded down) of the damage dealt by the sword is restored to the player's life points, and 1/4 of the damage is restored to the player's Prayer. It also increases damage by 10%, making it also viable for PKing. This drains 50% of the special attack bar (or a 45% drain if the player uses a Ring of Vigour). The sword's special attack must hit to have the effect. The Special Attack does NOT increase accuracy, but only increases the hit by 10%. There is a minimum restoration of 100 life points and 50 Prayer points, even with a hit of 1. For example, hits between 1 and 201 damage have the same healing effect, but hits of 202 or more will increase the amount of restoration.

Andorin's hits and prayer point heals with the Saradomin godsword, today, have been as follows:

Hit Prayer points healed
49 95
210 92
153 88
108 87
220 (and overkill damage) 83

This is now inconsistent and needs further spading. A new formula should be found, or it should be noted that the godsword heals random Prayer Points now, depending on the results of the spading.

Please add your data to the table below. Make sure that you are not using a special attack that deals overkill damage to the creature you're fighting; Living rock creatures are a good bet, since they have a lot of lifepoints.

I have been using mine recently, and it was working perfectly normally against other players in the Duel Arena, but against NPCs it was different. The minimum recovery was around 180 life points and 90 prayer points. It was also normal above hits of about 360, where the recovery was the usual 1/2 in life points and 1/4 in prayer. 1800 si uy b 08:26, November 6, 2011 (UTC)

SGS has been "fixed" according to Patch Notes - 13/12/2011 -- 17:23, December 13, 2011 (UTC)

The Saradomin Godsword spec does now function as the official description says, that is, 1/2 lp + 1/4pp with min @ 100/50 and does not depend on stats or equipment bonuses. I can confirm that it did previously heal more than the stated amount (180/90 seems about right) since I find myself having to take food to slayer tasks and pyramid plunder after the "fix" update. Now it isn't nearly as useful as it had been previously; enhanced excalibur is pretty much superior to it in most situations since it's more reliable, increases defence, heals more (back to back 400 specs are unlikely (impossible) from experience with 96att combat pot on slayer task) and you don't have to take off your shield, only downside is no prayer recovery and requires 92 herby for diary. 11:07, December 23, 2011 (UTC)爱伦

Healing after the EoC[edit source]

Does the healing take effect on autoattacks or with abilities? Believe it or not, it's just me... 20:33, December 22, 2012 (UTC)

The Saradomin Sword has a crush attack and not a slash attack as of the new EoC. 16:56, February 2, 2013 (UTC)

Yes, that's the Saradomin sword, a different weapon to this one. --Henneyj 17:00, February 2, 2013 (UTC)

Rates Of Healing after EoC Update[edit source]

Anyone know the exact healing rate after EoC update?  The page currently says that there is 25% chance of the passive occuring, but how much is actually healed? e.g. damage to heal ratio etc.? 10:36, February 25, 2013 (UTC)

Can a friend change effects for me?[edit source]

Since 70 Agility is required, can a friend change the effect to Passive from Special for me if I give him the sword? Puretppc (talk) 00:09, November 26, 2014 (UTC)

Passive swords are untradeable. MolMan 00:10, November 26, 2014 (UTC)

Special attack does not deal extra damage[edit source]

Im fairly certain the special attack does not deal 175% extra damage, or any extra damage at all under legacy mode. can someone confirm this? -- 03:00, October 5, 2016 (UTC)
