Merge discussion[edit source]

Merge both to Realms - This is a much less awkward term for different planes of existence. Dimensions isn't really the right term for it, and I don't believe that "different dimensions" is the best way to describe these places. Perhaps...but the term 'realm' is open to much speculation and vagueness in itself. 'Dimension' is used in RuneScape, though one may indeed argue it does not sound quite right. However, I do agree that these pages should should be merged in some way. Ralnon (talk) 19:59, November 21, 2009 (UTC)

Universes?[edit source]

As we know, Zanaris and Gielinor are separate planes of existence. However, we also know that Zanaris is Gielinor's moon. As a planet and a moon that orbits the planet must be in the same universe (common sense) the word "universe" to describe realms/planes does not really fit. I propose the following new definitions to help this article make sense:

  • Planes and realms are celestial bodies (planets, moons, stars, nebulae, etc.)
  • The abyss is not an area outside of the universe, but the dark matter between these planets and moons within the same universe.

This fits the description of the abyss as "the cheese part of swiss cheese" and also allows Zanaris to logically be Gielinor's moon. However, it does bring to attention a slight problem: In Rune Memories, it was revealed that teleportation uses the abyss to move around physical obstacles when teleporting. This makes sense when moving between planes (for example, casting Varrock teleport from Zanaris) and outdoor teleporting (Varrock teleport from Falador). It does not make sense with teleportation from inside buildings and underground. As mentioned by the gray apprentice, teleportation magic still has to obey the laws of physics.

I'm stumped on that part, so I've decided not to edit the article until someone figures out an explanation. 20:25, July 19, 2013 (UTC)

Remove redundant reference[edit source]

Remove the reference to the long-removed random event yeah? 10:34, October 12, 2015 (UTC)
