This talk page is for discussing the Quests/Experience rewards page.

Untitled[edit source]

There are partial duplicates of this list on many skill pages. I'm going to remove all those if no one objects, so it's easier to update when there's a new quest; redundancy is not a good thing, in my opinion. Skill 01:01, 6 October 2007 (UTC)

Only problem is lost information. Some of these lists also had the skill level requirement. Rich Farmbrough, 14:33 25 October 2007 (GMT)

Wouldn't it be better to make a separate section for XP lamps that can be used for any skill, instead of having the quests that give XP lamps listed in all sections ? The skill level requirement could be added there, too. Second-abyssal-whip.pngPatheticcockroachGuthan's platebody.png(Talk) 12:37, 14 November 2007 (UTC)

Yes. JalYt-Xil-Vimescarrot 12:49, 14 November 2007 (UTC)

Made the seperate section for lamps and removed them from each skill; it reads much more easily now. If you mean needing to be level 30 to use a lamp, skill requirement is in there too. Karma Kop 15:44, 31 December 2007 (UTC)

Experience Table?[edit source]

What would folks think about creating a table that is sortable for the experience received?

Something like (but nicer):

Non-members' quests[edit source]

Quest name Quest Points Agility Construction Cooking ... Woodcutting Other Rewards
Black Knights' Fortress 3 0 0 0 ... 0 2,500 coins
Cook's Assistant 1 0 0 300 ... 0 Permission to use the cook's range, which gives players 50% more chance of cooking food successfully.
Demon Slayer 3 0 0 0 ... 0 * The weapon Silverlight; if you lose Silverlight, you can buy a new one from Sir Pyrsin for 500 gold coins. You can also sell it to The Wise Old Man for 80 gold coins * If you are a member, you can talk to Historian Minas at the Varrock Museum to receive 5 Kudos and there will be a Varrock Museum display of Silverlight

And then making the table sortable. I would do one for F2P and P2P. This would allow folks to target quest that have multiple experience payoffs...maybe even add total experience given across skills.

It would be similar to the [[Quest Table]] that already exists but list the experience rewards rather than requirements.

I would give it a go (and make it nicer than my example) if people think it is worth doing...

Thanks! Dmz94 07:42, 25 September 2008 (UTC)

I support the idea, it sounds like a nice improvement C0smic 16:23, 2 March 2009 (UTC)

This will take quite a while, but nonetheless I say go for it. :) Black cavalier.png Zenihdrol Tribal top (blue).png 03:54, 17 April 2009 (UTC)

trivia needs an update[edit source]

The totals and orders in the trivia section for the various "highest" quest rewards is inaccurate when compared to the totals in the list. I personally can't make heads or tails of it (I'm at work and have no head for juggling numbers anyway), but could someone fix the trivia section's entries? --nekobawt 17:56, 17 October 2008 (UTC)

I added a small disclaimer at the top of the trivia section saying the data may be inaccurate. That should do for the time being. C0smic 16:29, 2 March 2009 (UTC)

WGS on Slayer[edit source]

Why is the 400k xp from WGS in the Slayer section? You can put it on any skill over 65 you want, so it should be under the Choice xp section  —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Purepout (talk) on 15:34, 11 March 2010 (UTC).

Frem Sagas, Miniquests, other "1 Time" Rewards[edit source]

Shoud all of them be included?

Or should this just be Quest Only Rewards?  —The preceding unsigned comment was added by (talk) on 18:40, 2 June 2011 (UTC).

Thieving?[edit source]

what happened to the thieving section of this page? is anyone else having this problem? 20:07, June 27, 2011 (UTC)

Fixed. Suppa chuppa Talk 20:13, June 27, 2011 (UTC)

Choice[edit source]

"These rewards are given in a certain skill after doing a quest; there is no choice involved." Does this choice mean choosing between skills or just choosing if you get the exp altogether? Cause many (but not all) optional rewards that don't involve skill choice are listed in the set rewards section. My contributionsTHARKONMy adventurer's log 16:02, January 2, 2012 (UTC)

K'Chunk's Island?[edit source]

Should the 10k firemaking xp you get from lighting the fire on k'chunks island after fairy tale 3 be added?

While not officially a reward from the quest you can't get the xp till after you've completed the quest so it's sorta related. I'd go ahead and add it myslef but iI'm not sure where the line between 'rewards from a quest' and 'dtuff you unlock from the quest but aren't related' is. 18:41, September 15, 2012 (UTC)

I went ahead and added the xp since it's listed as a reward on the quest's oage and other similar rewards such as the crafting xp from gunnar's ground and the constitution xp from 'song from the depth's are listed.04ismailjj6 (talk) 00:05, March 5, 2013 (UTC)

The World Wakes xp[edit source]

Someone needs to add all the xp from the world wakes, including the bonus xp like 100k prayer xp from praying at the monument and the fm xp. I'd do it myself no but I'm going to bed so I'm leaving this here as a reminder. Also, remember to update the total xp section in the trivia and at the end of each subsection. 04ismailjj6 (talk) 00:05, March 5, 2013 (UTC)

Fate of Gods XP[edit source]

Fate of the Gods seems to give about 900,000 XP over multiple skills, plus whatever you earn from the Large Prismatic lamp. Do we really need to keep updating the trivia sections that covers the total XP earned as it is becoming more and more difficult to track?--Deltaslug (talk) 21:38, March 24, 2014 (UTC)

yes please I would love total xp earned in trivia. at least updated once a year 08:24, October 4, 2017 (UTC)

Please an empty line between your message and the previous one or add a : before your message if it is a reply. Also add the signature after your messager please. :) But yes, it's reasonable to expect the total to be updated at least once a year. Untitled[edit source]

can someone add the skill requirement in the skill of which the xp is listed?

something like this:

[quest name] ,[xp reward amount in skill], [skill level required] Edwardlego (talk) 12:31, June 30, 2015 (UTC)

Seems like nobody saw this. I'm working on it now. Stinky Troll 18:22, July 19, 2016 (UTC)

Factual correction[edit source]

It quotes that 8.5 million xp can be earned from quests in 2015. I pulled out my calculator (google spreadsheets) and ended up with a total of 14,522,090 or 14,292,936. I may be a tiny bit off on my math but that is way more than 8.5 million. Can somemone make a chart adding up the totals. It would be very useful to see. 4,967,850 398,187 510,787 243,626 543,074.50 349,482 437,000 108,400 131,572.50 518,181 811,900 650,365 10,000 191,500 311,850 146,574 191,149 304,975 95,350 106,000 930,000 229,837 554,899 49,770 436,250 293,312 214,487 785,712 14,522,090 650,365 10,000 191,500 311,850 146,574 191,149 304,975 95,350 106,000 930,000 244,837 554,899 49,770 436,250 308,312  229,487 785,712 14,292,936 ps I don't have the energy to insert file or turn it into a table unless the xp is listed in multiple sections and i'm completely wrong thinking I can add them? 07:18, October 4, 2017 (UTC)

Retrieve completed quests?[edit source]

Can we allow a player to type in their username and automatically show which quests they've completed, like on the "list of quests" page?

Visor841 (talk) 16:02, 18 July 2019 (UTC)

Unfortunately, that's currently technically not possible. As the gadget that does that only works if there's one input where you can input your RSN, however making it work on this page would require the gadget to support multiple inputs as the gadget needs to be added to every table to make it work for every table. :/ Farming-icon.png Salix of Prifddinas (Talk) Prifddinas lodestone icon.png 16:35, 18 July 2019 (UTC)
Is this still true? Not sure if the QuestChecker JS has changed since the above reply was made and/or if there are problems I'm not noticing, but I seemed to get the desired behavior simply by tagging all of the lighttables with "qc-active" class and then loading the QuestChecker module as-is, e.g. executing this in the browser's debug console:
$("table.lighttable").addClass("qc-active"); mw.loader.load("ext.gadget.questchecker-core");
