I am sorry, 112k xp per hour at 81+ room? are they joking? I got 150k xp an hour from this room 81-91, I re did the test about 10 times (what else do you do when thieving..) and found the same results. I achieved this xp rate by ONLY looting chests in room 7 then immediately leaving. Surprisingly the xp rates are indeed a lot better as the extra time really is more important than the xp from room 6. This is not true for 91+ though, I normally searched about 6 or 7 urns in there (room 7) before progressing into the next room (room 8). Also On a side note menaphites are NOT faster xp. I got 230-250k xp an hour at level 91+, and I know people with 200m xp that say the same.  —The preceding unsigned comment was added by (talk) on 20:07, 7 August 2008 (UTC).

(Kivandien): I confirmed Zarfot's results, blackjacking can achieve 150k/hr before lvl 91, whereas many (including myself) topped plundering at 120k. That said, it is close. I would recommend to people to start plundering at 85, where your loot success is higher, and therefore xp is close to the same as blackjacking without all the strain.

Someone wrote 100k/hr at 81+...I was getting 180k/hr with mild focus on my way to 99. 91+ was easily 240k/hr. Lord Red XII 05:47, 20 November 2010 (UTC)

Sceptre luck[edit source]

Strategy for sceptre is to open all chests and sarcophagi on the way to the highest level ONLY. You can either thief urns at that level or simply exit to start another run. When you find a sceptre, you get kicked out of the Pyramid immediately, so it seems wise to have at least one invent spot available when opening a chest or a sarcophagus. If you don't, you need to get back to the room quickly to pick it up from the ground. --Miw 15:54, 4 January 2007 (UTC)

Is blackjacking faster?[edit source]

Is there any substance behind the claim that blackjacking and thiefing thugs is faster thiefing xp than PP? There is a statement to that effect in the article, but i dispute its correctness. --Miw 10:57, 5 January 2007 (UTC)

One of our editors got 99 thieving in three weeks with the blackjacking of the bandits, or whoever it was. He worked out his xp/hour, and it was more than this. 11:39, 5 January 2007 (UTC)

Menaphite Blackjacking can provide extremely fast exp, but only if you click perfectly. Typically, my results were 70-130k depending on amount of mistakes made. PP is much eaiser in practice, even if it is slower in theory. Also the exp figures in the article aren't very accurate. "search urn" exp[edit source]

In the guide under Urns, it said:

[...] and the experience from searching urns at a lower level room is better than searching urns at a higher level room.

The exp table later on shows that this isn't true, so I removed it; not sure if it was intended to say something else. Hv 14:49, 14 August 2007 (UTC)

500 Anti Poison[edit source]

Is the 500 Anti Poison estimate doses, (3) doses, or (4) doses? 15:30, 4 May 2008 (UTC)

Either way, it's wrong. I only used 50 super antipoisons (3) from 92-99.

Level[edit source]

Respectively?[edit source]

I noticed that there's two "respectives" in one sentence, the one pertaining to the summons. It's also on many other articles. Who keeps writing "respectively" on a lot of the articles? 07:12, September 15, 2009 (UTC)

Guide[edit source]

The guide was a mess - I've just cleaned it up a bit with more efficient methods. Changing it back to what it just was would be foolish, as I got far higher XP rates on my way to 99 than the methods previously stated claim, and I've tested my methods against those. Gloves of silence - not useful here[edit source]

When playing Pyramid Plunder with gloves of silence, they do not degrade at all, even though I failed way more urn thefts than would destroy the gloves if it was pickpocketing the master farmer that I failed. Since I'm pretty sure they only degrade when failing thefts that they work with, I'm concluding that they're useless in PP and I'm removing mention of them from the article.

I suspect the Ardougne Cloak might be similarly useless at PP, but I cannot think of a quick way of testing it. If I remember after I reach 91 thieving in a few months, I'll test it by getting half the xp for a level with the cloak and the other half without, recording the time for each xp half. Before 91 thieving there's not enough xp from one level to another for multi-hour tests. --MarkGyver (talk) 23:09, April 17, 2011 (UTC)

Gloves don't degrade when you are not 'caught' pickpocketing. For example master farmers at 90 with ardy cloak and gloves means you never get caught, and thus gloves don't degrade. Thus, non-degradation of gloves cannot conclusively prove that they are non-beneficial for PP - 11:02, December 23, 2011 (UTC)
As I said before, I failed way more urn thefts than would destroy the gloves if they were beneficial. Although non-degradation alone does not imply uselessness, if the gloves don't degrade when failing a thieving task then they don't help. MarkGyver (talk) 03:53, December 24, 2011 (UTC)

Success rates?[edit source]

I've done a lot runs from about level 77-82, and my success rates seem to be higher in later rooms. Has anyone else observed this? Darkaether 15:20, January 15, 2012 (UTC)

Sceptre of the gods?[edit source]

This article says the sceptre of the gods can be gained from the sarcophagus AND the chest in the last room. The sceptre article only mentions the sarcophagus. Ibis Legs - No Poison?[edit source]

It seems that if I have my ibis legs in my invent or equipped I don't get poisoned when plundering?

I tried it without any ibis item, without any antipoison and without antipoison totem. Did not get poisoned at all. I think poison has been removed from the minigame. 04:10, April 2, 2013 (UTC)

Query[edit source]

Query - the page states that opening sarcophogi reduces XP rates for all players. To clarify, is this simply a reference to the aggravation factor (as mummies attack all players in the room at the time, regardless of who opened the sarcophagus), or does opening sarcophogi actually reduce the XP gained from looting urns, opening chests and doors, etc? No more poison?[edit source]

I did Pyramid Plunder today and nothing in the pyramid poisoned me. I think Jagex removed poison from the game. Can someone confirm? Bazhil (talk) 11:02, February 4, 2013 (UTC)

Where I got Black Ibis[edit source]

Black Ibis -  The article appears to suggest that the only way to get Black Ibis is from the Jeweled Sarcophagus in the last room.  However I got my Black Ibis mask from urns in Room 81.

Qualifying advice about not looting sarcoughagi[edit source]

It really doesn't need that bit about "such and such is nullified if you wear good armour", because:

1. It doesn't flow at all with the rest of the sentence.

2. Low levels also use pp, and they may not be able to handle the mummies

3. Armour gives hp boosts, which increase the damage you take from urns. Thus, you need far more healing.

4. Other people might not be wearing armour

5. It is a complete and utter waste of time. You get junk exp, and the majority of people could make money much quicker by killing green dragons or something. Heck even making headless arrows is faster cash. Those who can't make money faster are likely to be in the group of people who can't tank a mummy.

I can't figure out how to edit that. I think its in a wierd format or something. Can do it for me?
