Untitled[edit source]

Thanks everyone for moving the Pure Guide where it needs to be. Thanks! —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Nik nak75 (talk).

I would be thankful for anyone who is able to give this article a serious cleanup. My edits will need some cleanup and maybe some correction. The mage section needs to be 'encyclofied' and have opinion replaced by fact. Money making was mentioned in the mage section and possibly needs to be relocated to a money making guide. The section could simply state that a mage pure is an expensive pure and require a large amount money. See moneymaking guide. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 210.49.255.189 (talk).

Additions[edit source]

I have added a melee and ranged pure guide. Feel free to correct as needed, although I am sure that the examples actually fit the combat levels! Navij11 23:22, 31 December 2006 (UTC)

Hitpoints factor into combat lvl as well. And because 99 strength requires over 13 million xp, getting it would give you over 4.3 million hp xp, putting hp into at least the high 80's. Unless we're dealing with a PC product, in which case you never know. 70.58.189.221 02:48, 18 September 2007 (UTC)

?!?!?!?!?![edit source]

Why do we have a guide for pures?! The only guides we make are quest walkthroughs and skill training suggestions. All our articles are supposed to present a neutral point of view and have factual basis. This is just a ridiculous article...I would suggest it be considered for deletion. At the very least it needs to be cleaned up to present facts with a neutral point of view. Slayer-icon.png Gangsterls Divination-icon.png talk02:40, 16 March 2007 (UTC)

Where is the bias in this article? Tesfan 20:32, 5 May 2007 (UTC)

The bias is where the article is effectively saying that pures are almost invincible and defence serves almost no practical purpose in the wilderness. 70.58.189.221 07:57, 13 September 2007 (UTC)

False Info[edit source]

"Since pures hit high while training, their hitpoints will usually be higher than average which compensates for getting hit often."

This is a plain untruth, pures often have hp becaue of the way the lvl up exp sysytem works, not because of hitting high. You get 1.33 hp exp per 4 str/def/range, and thats the same regardless of if you hit a 1 or a 25. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 154.20.193.21 (talk).

All the talk about Pures & Desert Treasure is annoying... let me give you the facts:

Thought Desert Treasure is a difficult quest (one of the worst there is) it is defiantly a necessity for any G maul/ DDS Pure. Without Ice-Blitz, your PK will be much less effective. In he PVP worlds and BH, an Ice Blitzer is the most dangerous thing there is. Since players are often shocked when they get blitzed (besides the fact that they already get damaged 21 and are frozen!) and hesitate. After the blitz, you can easily finish them with your 4 DDS specials, or G Maul specials. Unfair PK is fun, when you're the pker ;).

Though it will help a lot to have 43 prayer during this quest, it is more than possible to succeed with lower. You will find that the Blitz-Pures (DDS/G maul pures which use Iceblitz to pk easily) Many guides seem to point this out, if you know where to find them. There is many strategies of avoiding the need for prayer, such as safespots (THERE IS A SAFESPOT, FOR EACH AND EVERY BOSS, I VERIFY THIS, I HAVE COMPLETED DESERT TREASURE ON 2 DIFFERENT PURES, ONE WITH 1 PRAYER, 1 WITH 31). The only real difficulty is the Ice Troll. Not the Ice Troll actually, but getting there. Without a friend (high defence, 43+ prayer)walking first infront of you, and a strategy of running (since you barely have energy in the area, it is all drained), it probably is impossible. Though, having a friend doesn't require 43 prayer :).

It's a guide but has only 1 real walktrough..............[edit source]

Okay we all know a guides is supposed to help you do something and when yoy see the discriptioin on the guides page it clearly states:

"For help with making a pure."

The question that I ask you is: Why is there only on tiny little part of the guid that actually helps you make a pure? The point of the article is to give you a guide on how to make a pure but how are you supposed to from this guide? The only pure I can make is a mage pure......

If you ask me this page either needs some serious editing or deletion. All I see in this article are a bunch of definitions and only one thing that can actually make me be a pure(not that I wanna be 1).

If I were going to make a pure and I read this I would be even more confused... It needs to include at least some training areas or something. It includes money making guide but nothing on potential training hotspots.

Factual correction[edit source]

Regarding the person who posted that they completed DT with 2 pures... It isn't, at all, possible to complete dt with 1 prayer, because one of the prerequisite quests require you to get 13 prayer (Priest in Peril).

98.252.64.122 21:54, August 9, 2010 (UTC)You sir, are a liar. It is impossible to do Desert Treasure with level 1 prayer, as one of the bosses and sections of that quest takes place in...drum roll please... Morytania! To get to the canifis/morytania area you need to complete Priest in Peril quest, which rewards you with prayer experience.
