## Testing...[edit source]

I noted the reply in the article about the last testing on the Penance Horn.. It seems more appropriate to put my replies in here.. I'm the person who updated the article with that test.. I'm aware that it's not an accurate test of points per wave - its sole goal was to show that the previous entry was flawed. ;) (Previously, the Wiki was showing that wave 1 and wave 10 gave the same points, which is inaccurate.

I've not fully tested, but I am aware that it differs in the same wave, as well, based on playstyle. I'll leave it in someone else's hands to fully test.. I was just tired of people in the minigame claiming, over and over, that the exp potential in wave 1 was the same as in wave 10, so we ran that brief test to prove it otherwise. =) - DS

## Penance Horn and Stealing creation.[edit source]

Does the 2X effect stack with the abilites of the sacred clay pickaxe to give 4X?

Oh dear the bonuses to mining... with the brawlers too, I wonder what the total amount of exp gain is now and how fast an item will degrade now? Combined with Star Sprites and Varrock Armour 3.... geez, maybe more people will be getting 99 mining now? RyuTheMerc 17:09, January 19, 2010 (UTC)

You shouldn't see them as X2, and thus not as X4 either. Both give a +100% bonus for a total of +200%.--Tharkon 02:57, February 7, 2010 (UTC)

so essentially weilding the penance horn and a sacred clay pickaxe would yield X3 experience (+200% bonus +100% for regular experience=300%) --keano1217

## coding fail?[edit source]

"Potential has been added to your horn so now: ~Your horn is empty~"

Yeah I got this, the next game it changed to "Your horn has very little potential left." Perhaps they have responses corrosponding to percentage of charge, and you didn't get enough charge to get 1%. Who knows. Soy the Stig 07:59, January 20, 2010 (UTC)

## Points[edit source]

- Which item? You get the horn for free, you just have to charge it by playing.

- Penance horn. And if it's obtained for free, then it should be mentioned on the article since it's not clear on that. I would add it myself, but I'm not exactly sure how you get it.

## Recharging the Horn[edit source]

**If someone could leave below some data on how many games it takes to fully charge a Horn from fully empty, that'd be great. This is something many players will want to know - just how long does it take to charge this Horn...?**

We need more info on this. I removed a statement saying it takes 6-8 hours because it's going to vary widely based on how good your team is. Some general information comparing honor points received to charge received would be helpful, as well as whether it matters what role you're in. --troacctid 06:24, January 21, 2010 (UTC)

~~On the contrary, your preformance in the game doesn't effect how much charge it gets. Every completed wave is rewarded with 1% charge. Therefore, 100 waves must be completed before the horn is fully charged. ## Bonus with Adze?[edit source]

Has anyone tested if you'll get a firemaking xp bonus when cutting trees with the Inferno Adze? TIA Fxrw 07:41, January 24, 2010 (UTC)

I have tested - you do NOT get bonus exp for the logs the Adze burned. Tested with Magic Trees. --DS

## Messages while degrading?[edit source]

While you're using it, does it give any indication of its charge in the message box? I know you can always check potential by right-clicking it, but does it warn you when it steps down a stage?

--It does not give an indication when it steps down a charge, but I'm fairly sure it does announce when it's completely emptied.

## Horn + Mastered skills[edit source]

Does the amount of skills you have mastered in Barbarian assault effect how long the horn lasts.. or does it only effect the emote?

It doesn't actually state anywhere approximately how much experience a fully charged horn lasts for. Might be useful to add that in for each skill, or if it's the same. 62.56.113.53 14:55, January 24, 2010 (UTC)

Agreed. I think it would be very useful to know aproximately how long it takes to fully fill the horn and aproximately how much experience it lasts for on each skill so I know which skill I should use it for and whether or not I deem it worth the time it takes to fill the horn. I played through the 10 stages once and only got to "your horn is less than a quarter full." At this rate I'm assuming I may have to play through the 10 stages about 6-10 times before the horn is filled. Has anyone else tested this more with similar results? I recently checked the information on the Master penance horn page and there it explains the formula for finding how much xp your horn is worth. Perhaps you should just work towards getting a Master horn and then you'll know. It only took me less than 4 rounds of 10 waves to max out on Defender and get the Master horn. About 35-40 waves total. After the 40 waves total I had an extra 200+ points to spend so I think most people should be able to max out on a role by playing just 40 waves.**Sk8r dan man** 01:28, February 12, 2010 (UTC)

The current exp listed for how much exp the REGULAR penance horn lasts for is the same as the master horn. The regular one is said to last less, so might anyone know just how much less it lasts for? Godel 03:44, June 28, 2010 (UTC)

## Can someone test how many points a full horn is equivilent to[edit source]

Two people should play barbarian assault together in the same role, one of them charging and the other gaining points. The one gaining points should record how many points they recieved while the other person in the same roles fills their horn.

That wouldn't work... because if you're trying to test how many points equal how many exp it charges the horn, you have to remember that everyone in the team gets different amounts of points, regardless of if they're the same role, since points received depends on how active and efficient you are in playing the game. 76.99.159.166 19:46, October 27, 2010 (UTC)

The only way you could really do it is get a team of people to get ~100 wave 10 tickets and do wave 10 runs until it is full. You always get 95 points in that round regardless of role or performance.

## Evil tree burning + Horn/mining exp amount[edit source]

Does anyone know if having the horn equipped while burning kindling on an evil tree will double the fming experience received from the evil tree?

Also the amount of exp received for firemaking and agility is listed but the mining isn't. Has anyone figured out how much experience you can get from the horn for mining before it runs out?

From what' I've seen the horn lasts roughly as long for mining as it does for agility. I got my horn to 2/3rds full, and it lasted roughly 600k experience when mining. I would suspect that agility and mining are the same or very similar.

## Agility bonus[edit source]

Can somebody see if it would be faster agility xp to ONLY use the horn during the lap bonus? It would save the horn's charges so you would not have to do barb assult as much. Thepop 15:49, February 10, 2011 (UTC)

Apparently, the horn lasts for X experience, not actions. This means that you should always get the same amount of bonus exp... So the answer should be no. 75.85.169.128 17:55, April 23, 2011 (UTC)

## Total exp or just bonus exp?[edit source]

Someone needs to add something to the article telling about the chart at the bottom; Is that the total exp that the horn lasts for, or the bonus exp you get from it? I would assume that it is the total exp. Heal ppl 23:10, February 5, 2012 (UTC)

## Exact potential per wave[edit source]

Some info which you will find useful. I'll copy & paste directly as it should answer a lot of questions. These figures are extremely accurate and have extremely large sample sizes (althought the researchers no longer play). It also works out to be the same as what I have experienced personally

As the horn rounds to the nearest 1.0%, the maximum of 102% is still possible given the potential per wave below from wave 10:

extra exp horn contributes per wave (using quake's data at 85 mine)

Wave....extra exp......% of full horn (using 550k extra exp in full as approximation)

Wave 1 - 2919 - .531% Wave 2 - 3030 - .551% Wave 3 - 3393 - .617% Wave 4 - 3762 - .684% Wave 5 - 4407 - .801% Wave 6 - 4544 - .826% Wave 7 - 4682 - .851% Wave 8 - 5509 - 1.002% Wave 9 - 6147 - 1.118% Wave 10 - 8720 - 1.585%

Total - 47113 extra exp/round - 8.566% -> 11.67 rounds (estimated) -> 11 full rounds + wave1-8 (approx) to get full horn
