Untitled[edit source]

I don't know when someone will next see this, but I've been experimenting with planting orange tree seeds (and fruit tree seeds in general), and the growth times seem off. When paying a gardener, is the tree supposed to grow in the standard amount of time, or does it take longer? This page says an orange tree seed will grow into an orange tree in a little less than 15 hours. As of posting this comment, I planted an orange tree seed nearly 24 hours ago and had a gardener watch over it. It still has another stage of growth before it's done. This tells me that the times on here are not accurate. I had the same problem when planting an orange tree seed and watching it grow, but I thought that may have been due to disease, which happened at least once on every tree I planted. (I keep forgetting to treat the soil with supercompost. >_< )

@NathanW197. I've had the same problem for some time now as well, even if the orange tree is diseased and the gardener cures it, there should be a growth time of 7x160 minutes which amounts to slightly over 18 hours. Personally I suspect this may be due to the changing worlds' effect that is mentioned on the page on Morchella Mushrooms, although I'm not too sure if this is true. There is a chance seeing as the occassions do occur whenever I swap worlds very frequently in a short span of time (as far as I can remember anyway)175.156.211.127 11:24, November 11, 2014 (UTC)

Paying a farmer implies that your crops will never die; however they do get diseased. When they get diseased, the farmer will automatically cure them, but the crop will not have advanced to the next stage. Thus, every time the crop gets diseased, it will take one cycle longer for it to fully grow (as it would if you never paid a farmer but cured it yourself whenever it got diseased). I have always been under the impression that once the plant becomes diseased, it won't get diseased again. Doesn't that put the maximum growth time at the 7x160 minutes I mentioned above? I do know how the farmer taking care of the plant works but the growth time has been longer than 24 hours on multiple occasions; surely it can't be coincidence?175.156.54.253 15:55, November 14, 2014 (UTC)
I don't know whether that statement is true for patches that have a farmer looking over them; but I have personally had patches becoming diseased more than once before being fully grown, and me curing them manually. IP83.101.44.209 (talk) 15:59, November 14, 2014 (UTC)

There is a small problem with the times on this page, the item table saids it takes 960 mins but the main part of the page saids 880 mins, which one is right?, the apple and banana pages say 960 mins, so i'm going for 960, but maybe someone could check and confirm it.

By the way (6x160 mins), what on earth does that mean? Robson'meleegirl'67 12:52, April 8, 2011 (UTC)

6 cycles, each of length 160 minutes. --Saftzie (talk) 07:52, July 29, 2011 (UTC)
