Max hp[edit source]

Isn't his max hp 1250? "1000; 1500 in battle healing at first 1/4 health back to 1/2 health."

1000 for starters, at 250 he goes back to 500, thus 1000+250? 15:57, January 13, 2010 (UTC)

I made the description clearer; changed to "1000; 1250 in battle, healing back 1/2 health (500) when first time at 3/4 (750)."--Runerune239 13:21, January 16, 2010 (UTC)

Title?[edit source]

Is Nomad his title or his name? If the former, props to Jagex for a Crysis reference. :D WWTDD? 21:24, 20 February 2009 (UTC)

Generaly a Nomad is a person who wanders from place to place insted of having a permanent home. I have never seen or heard anybody with the name nomad, so I am guessing thats his title. Gilded clock (flatpack).png--Tealclocktalk07:35, 21 February 2009 (UTC)

Nomad isn't a proper name for someone, however, a parent can probably name their child anything they want (Gwyneth Paltrow and Chris Martin for example) I wouldn't know why they'd name him Nomad though. Axearmour1 06:52, 28 February 2009 (UTC)

Nomad is his name. It may be wierd, but with RuneScape, that shouldn't be much surprise. Or maybe he's evil and renamed himself like that, similar to Darth Vader or Darth Tyranus. --

It's likely his real name is not Nomad, but that he has hidden his real name and everyone refers to him as Nomad. In the unlikely case it is his actual name, remember that there is no such thing as 'not a real name'. I'm trying to recall them at the moment so I can't say which exactly, but I think there was a case of an NPC in RuneScape that was known as one 'false' name at one point and then had their true name revealed. As a final thought, it could very well be his title and just that no one knows his actual name, so they use his title as if it were his name. - DarkenedDan

Chaos Elemental Suitcase[edit source]

According to the people figuring out the new Chaos Elemental Suitcase in the Postbag from the Hedge, Nomad is mentioned in one of the hints:

Lucien -> You've been waiting for Lucien's whereabouts, Nomad is too frightened. [Blue Note deciphered using shorthand writing]

Nomad is frightened of what? Is he a Mahjarrat too? Is this why he's gathering souls.. to become stronger?

QFC: 16-17-157-59341543

Should this be mentioned in the article? --Madmarkx 10:02, 7 August 2009 (UTC)

I'm also rather interested in the fact that Nomad may be a Mahjarrat. In the suitcase, the sheet of paper titled HARDENS SOUTH is signed zzz. Zimberfizz's signature, anyone? During the Soul Wars Tutorial, the imp tells us that Nomad is obsessed with getting as many souls as he can into the Soul Obelisk (which he built himself!) Nomad may indeed be gathering souls in preparation for the upcoming ritual. Also, the graphical update he just received makes him look more mysterious... more Mahjarrat-like.  Tien  14:24, December 23, 2009 (UTC)

i agree- perhaps the first hints of wgs part 2? wgs 1 hints started coming out years before the quest came out.

I haven't beaten Nomad yet, but his rationale for his actions is that he went rogue from his 'Master' and needs to harness the souls gathered from Soul Wars in order to prepare for the day when his Master comes himself, instead of sending assassins and emmisaries. That offers no proof either way for Nomad being a Mahjarrat, but it does continue the implication. Cheers, Penderwyll 20:03, January 11, 2010 (UTC)

Nomad[edit source]

Ok. I was thinking today about Nomad possibly being a Majharatt. A little bit of evidence:

-Even though he isn't mentioned in Zemouregal's notes, as Azzandra said: there could be many of us returning from different dimensions -Zemouregal didn't mension him, so he probably does not attend The Ritual, maybe the souls he collects could allow him to stay powerful (i.e. the soul obelisk is like the stone in the ritual) -"Sometimes he slips away and, when he comes back, his fingernails glow and he's got sparkles in his eyebrows, like he's been near summat magic." - Zimberfizz

--Compdude123 21:11, January 11, 2010 (UTC)

Two years late, but what you just presented isn't evidence supporting him being a Majharratt; all it presents is evidence that shows he could possibly be one, which we already knew. Snowskeeper---Till Hell Freezes Over. (talk) 07:06, March 26, 2013 (UTC)

Highest maximum hit[edit source]

As Jad had the highest max hit in game for many years wouldn't it be trivia worthy that with the Nomad's Requiem update Jad was dethroned since Nomad can hit up to 98, sure it's only on people with 99 HP but it still might be worth mentioning. Korasi's sword.png Archmage Elune  TalkHS Void knight deflector.png fetus is my son and I love him. 12:37, January 12, 2010 (UTC)

No, as Jad can hit 98 with his range attack and 75 with his magic attack, and thats just with even casual attacks not special attacks, Jad is still the most powerful monster.

Not a majharatt[edit source]

Taken from the main page: "Elite dark warriors are in the service of Surok Magis, and by extension the Mahjarrat Lucien, so it would make sense for them to be 'assassins' sent to kill him, if indeed Nomad is Bilrach in disguise."

Lucien would not send assassins to kill a Majharatt, he would capture them and sacrifice him during the ritual. I think this is the true evidence Nomad is not a Majharatt but simply someone who used an artifact similar to the Stone of Jas to gain godlike powers.-- Ruderion (Talk) Farming cape (t).png 17:16, January 12, 2010 (UTC)

If he isn't Mahjarrat, then he simply betrayed Surok Magis. Remember when he looked exactly like those Elite dark mages? Tokkul detail.png Inhaps talk 17:22, January 12, 2010 (UTC)

Maybe Nomad used to be an Elite Dark Mage under the service of Lucien, but after he somehow discovered what he intended to do with the Stone of Jas and the Staff of Armadyl, he quit from his servitude and was gathering souls to use their power to make himself more powerful to destroy Lucien. Nomad mentioned something about a "master" of his, perhaps it's just Lucien just that he's so powerful he still deserves some respect from him. That would explain why all those Elite Dark assassins were sent to kill Nomad, so he couldn't stop their master Lucien. When Nomad dies, he says something about "You have doomed the fate of this world", meaning now he's been defeated he's probably so weak that now nothing can stop Lucien from taking over the world or something. However, maybe he thought that we were so weak we wouldn't understand his goals, or just to protect us from Lucien--Jampolo 22:51, January 12, 2010 (UTC).

Yes, but Lucien is partnered with his cousin Zemouregal, who said "Bilrach is of average power for our kind. He seems willing to go along with what I suggest, so he will be useful for now." Why would Zemouregal not do anything when his cousin sent black knights? And there is a chance that they aren't even Lucien's, as he isn't the only one who control them. Lord Daquarius. sig1.png Spam me w/ lolcatsPottery statuette detail.png Is <insert name here> awesome? I don't know, let me check... 00:15, January 13, 2010 (UTC)

Yeah, maybe Daquarius sent them. BUT Lucien is NOT partnered with Zemouregal....yet. He just sent an OFFER to forge an alliance with him. Zemouregal rejected the idea at first, but after Defender of Varrock he says he will consider it, he NEVER explicitly says he accepted the proposal. And, if I haven't mentioned it before, I don't think Nomad is a Mahjarrat. He isn't even of "average" power for a Mahjarrat, he's way too powerful to fit with that description.--Jampolo 01:12, January 13, 2010 (UTC)

Mahjarrat are supposed to be powerful. He's the only possible Mahjarrat we've fought, so we don't know exactly how strong the Mahjarrat are. Even the weakest Mahjarrat might be pretty strong.  Tien  02:18, January 13, 2010 (UTC)
Remember upon freeing Hazeel, he is "extremely weak" but is a combat level of 297 or such? Perhaps nomad is "of average power". Coelacanth0794 01:09, July 23, 2010 (UTC)

OK then, he's powerful enough to match a Mahjarrat's average power, but that doesn't mean he's a Mahjarrat. And think about it, the fact that he may have used to work for Lucien fits perfectly, and way more than being a Mahjarrat himself--Jampolo 03:27, January 13, 2010 (UTC).

I just found that one of the assassins sent to kill Nomad says "I'll give you a challenge, traitor!". I noticed he calls Nomad "traitor", making somewhat evident the fact that Nomad used to be one of them.--Jampolo 05:53, January 13, 2010 (UTC)

Did u ever thinked on nomad beeing a creature fom other world? Like other dimension... and soul wars obelisk like a portal feeded by the souls that nomad colects. Maybe nomad is trying to open that portal so he can bring a powerfull lord or even a god so he wil save this world making Nomad like a guardian... that would explain the motive of collecting souls. 19:36, September 12, 2010 (UTC)

Ranged[edit source]

Does Nomad actually use range? I beat him (105 combat, w00t), and I think he only used Magic and Melee. On another note, how certain are we that deflect magic doesn't do much? It seemed to work very well, but that may have just been sap magic.Armadyl Helm‎Long Live ArmadylArmadyl Helm‎ 18:52, January 23, 2010 (UTC)

Strongest NPC?[edit source]

The article says that he is the strongest NPC in game? Forgot about someone? Roflcopters? You don't fight Lucien. Someone else is also stronger than Lucien, if you count the fact that he's a god, whereas Lucien has god-like powers.

Think about this. Most people kill nomad by hiding (I did at 113) and thats how they succeed. To kill the only monster that surpasses it(not known if it does), the Corporeal Beast, you have no safe haven to eat or anything. so considering that, I believe if you were to melee or range Nomad without hiding, I'd say he's considerably tougher than the corp beast (considering his max hit, his different attack styles, and his berserk attack mode.) 19:45, July 29, 2010 (UTC)kuballer22

We don't know Lucien's combat level/HP *yet* FredeTalk 17:33, January 30, 2010 (UTC)
Well considering Lucien can kill Turael, Ghommal and Cyrisus (all of which are lvl ~198) all 3 in 1 hit, has Stone of Jas and Armadyl Staff and Hazelmere's attack do nothing, i think it's pretty clear that Lucien is stronger regardless of his HP and Combat levels.
You're thinking about this from the standpoint of storyline, whereas we're thinking about it from available content. Lucien is not atackable, so he has an undefined strength. kitty.pngPsycho Robot talkSilver bar.png 02:22, July 6, 2010 (UTC)

who Nomad might be.[edit source]

I'm guessing Nomad is going to be the majharrat sliske and the hood is hiding is forked tongue.

First, jagex has confirmed that the mahjarrat series will not unite with the nomad series, thus, he cannot be sliske as sliske is confirmed to be in the mahjarrat one. Imo, he is just a powerfull human mage who became deformed from the soul energy. But this isn't the place to discuss this, so please no futher questions/comments that dont have to do with improving the article. You may post on my talk page if you wish to continue. 01:17, July 23, 2010 (UTC)

what players might think about the nomad[edit source]

I disagree I think he is mahjarrat bilrach because no human can have that kind of power exept the avatar which in this case our rs players. Since the nomad capture souls I think he use those souls to summon the dungeoneerin monsters. Or mabye he has a score to settle with lucien. Nomad might also need the souls for the ritual to destroy lucien. And I think the proof about why the nomad is a mahjarrat is that after nomad's requiem, the nomad regenerated himself after he was killed.

Except for that big fact that Bilrach is in Daemonheim right now. Furthermore, the souls he ate likely were the reason for his 'regeneration'. Amascut symbol.svg Amascut Ia Morte 01:17, May 3, 2011 (UTC)
I don't mean to be rude but come on now, this isn't possible at all if you have read about Bilrach. If on the small chance he was a mahjarret, he would probably be (I can't think of the name) the Mahjarret who is thought to be sealed away somewhere, but it is unlikely. And human's can be extremely powerful, I mean, the player is human and it is possible to defeat Nomad.....and since players aren't mahjarret, they are also as strong or stronger than Nomad.

Is something wrong with this page?[edit source]

I don't know if it's something with my browser or just a loading problem, but something seems seriously wrong with this page. At 27:16, you can clearly see Nomad summoning Zimberfizz. If we were using the Origins of Gielinor Elder Gods images as canon until retconned, it is only fair that this new canon is accepted as well. If you wish, you can change it to "Summoned, captured, and bound", but it appears the intention is that he was summoned from the Infernal Dimension, as that is how they were able to later return to the Kal'ger warmasters.Elf of Seren (talk) 15:41, October 29, 2017 (UTC)
Yeah er, a RuneFest video from the art team really can't be considered a more reliable source than actual in-game dialogue and a postbag, which clearly establish Nomad did not summon Zimberfizz from the Infernal Dimensions, but simply caught him using a magic box. The video can just be taken as artistic license. User_talk:Fswe1 Fswe1 Brassica Prime symbol.png 18:14, October 29, 2017 (UTC)
Except the art team didn't make the lore up, they obviously got it from somewhere. Postbag's get retconned all the time. I'm going to take Osborne's lore given to the Art team within a year to be more accurate than a postbag. Elf of Seren (talk) 18:17, October 29, 2017 (UTC)
Isn't the older source more reliable a priori? :P Anyway, we have two official sources agreeing with one another, and then one semi-official source claiming something else. Mod Osborne's a fine man but he makes mistakes sometimes (e.g. when he accidentally said Chaeldar is a Guardian of Guthix and people went haywire, believing it).
