Talk:Money making guide/Thieving
Ring of Wealth for master farmers?[edit source]
I had seen it written before that a Ring of wealth was required to get the more valuable seeds from the Master farmers. I know it is bullocks since Jagex has stated before that the RoW works with drops and only drops.
Level 40?[edit source]
There's an entry at level 40 that is rated as 5 stars and reads as:
It has been proven that you can make 26970 gp (give or take if you steal from tea stall in Varrock for fast health from failures which will be a lot) in ~5-6hours
That sounds like complete gibberish to me, and rating something (don't know exactly what) that makes 5k-6k per hour as worthy of putting in a money making guide at any rating, let alone at 5 stars, seems a bit odd to say the least. I didn't delete because I'm not sure what the intent of the entry was, but unless it can be cleaned up, it should be deleted. To3cutt3r 16:02, 8 May 2009 (UTC)
Pyramid plunder[edit source]
Don't you think Pyramid plunder is a way of making money. You can get Pharaoh's sceptre(s) and golden trinkets.

Dwarf traders[edit source]
I was just wondering why no one has added dwarf traders yet. I would but i don,t have the Level to see how much Gp per hour.--Linus22694 03:54, November 28, 2009 (UTC)
Yes, Dwarf traders are supposedly good money if you pay off the guards every 10 minutes.
Thieving Gems[edit source]
As far as I know, you can't steal from the gem stall in Al Kharid. Don't know about Keldagrim. (188.8.131.52 16:02, January 9, 2010 (UTC))
Master Farmers and Dwarf traders, Wire Machine[edit source]
Master Farmers are not good money at all, with an average cash rate of 150-200k per hour. For something which requires 90+ thieving, this is dire. Even dorgesh-kaan wire machine is better, averaging at 300-400k profit per hour.
Master Farmers are nothing near the 200k-300k cash p/h this guide promises, and the figure of 95 is irrelevant, quadruple loot is at 68. These actually average around 900-1000k per hour at higher thieving, however this guide is clearly misinformed.
- Actually, they ARE around that figure, having been doing it a lot myself. As for the figure of 97+, at 92+ you never fail to pickpocket them with gloves of silence and ardy 2.
- Agree and disagree with the original post. I myself am 99 thieving, high enough agil for 4x loot, using silence + ardy 3 and I average no more than 350k/hr. Usually I'm closer to 200k or so, but regardless... not near the 400k-900k suggested by any stretch of the imagination. Please remove this figure as there is no concrete evidence surrounding it and it personally fooled me into wasting many hours completing the Ardougne diary for no reason at all. Note that prior to ardy 3 using only silence, I was obtaining approximately the exact same cashflow.
- Yes, I agree. I am 99 Thieving and I get like 300k/h with 2500 pickpockets/h.
H.A.M. Members[edit source]
The most worthwhile part of pickpocketing H.A.M. Members is missing, the Level 1 Clue Scrolls you can find - which can give you items worth hundreds of thousands. From something like 10 scrolls found, I got TT items worth over 1,300,000 on the GE and this didn't count non-TT unique item rewards. Egdcltd 11:52, February 7, 2011 (UTC)
Sorceress' Garden, Level 45 tip[edit source]
You don't get theiving experience for picking Herbs in the Sorceress' Garden, so it is incorrect to list this under making money by theiving. If you pick the herbs you get farming experience and you get teleported out, so you cannot pick Sq'irk at the same time as herbs. If you choose instead to pick Sq'irk, then you cannot make money, but you can get theiving experience. Joeprib 07:34, March 23, 2011 (UTC)joeprib
