Granite[edit source]

This page should be updated to show that granite is practically worthless as a tradeable item.  —The preceding unsigned comment was added by (talk).

Granite is acting very "weird" right now in the Grand Exchange. Some changes that Jagex has done to Granite mining have substantially skewed the previous methods of earning money off of that resource, and it is taking some time for the "market" to adjust to the current situation. You can still make money off of Granite mining, but it isn't in the same way that you used to be able to do it. Yeah, the entry needs to be revised. --Robert Horning 12:26, 20 September 2008 (UTC)

Effectiveness skewed?[edit source]

I might be wrong, but does anyone else think that the effectiveness column looks to be a bit off in some places? For example, mining iron is only two stars while mining gold is four. Gold is worth a little less than twice as much, but takes far longer to mine. Mining iron must be at least as effective as gold. I'm sure there are other inaccuracies in that column too. -- 01:27, November 30, 2009 (UTC)

The effectiveness column should use Template:Effectiveness or Template:Effectiveness Range - they automatically update the star value whenever the profit obtained changes - but a lot of methods are missing data (usually the amount processed per hour) so effectiveness can't be used, so Template:Difficulty is used (which has a static star value). Some editors then add the prices underneath without using effectiveness, so the value updates but the stars do not. I added effectiveness where I could on this specific guide at this time (note that runite ore has a static value of 400k, so as I don't know how many ores were obtained in the hour I can't use effectiveness; the other star values are static and have no data).
