Tormented demons guide[edit source]

Could someone consider a guide for tormented demons please? Their dragon limbs are worth more than any pair of glacor boots, and are about as common I believe. Logialian (talk) 06:48, August 28, 2013 (UTC)

That's definitely one that I'm considering...it's just a question of what the rarity of the limbs are. Is it 1/300? 1/1000? It makes a huge difference, if tormented demons are 60 kills per hour then it's the difference between 4m an hour and a little over 1m an hour. ʞooɔ 07:03, August 28, 2013 (UTC)

Especially Nex solos: I was able to kill around 4 per hour and came to an average of 11m coins/hr and 2,4-2,5m coins/kill on average. This should definitely be regarded as a mmg for very experienced players with max stats and max gear. Frenzy Tree (talk) 13:58, April 20, 2014 (UTC)

Automaton Tracers and Generators[edit source]

Shouldn't the guide Killing Automaton Guardians be written for all types of automaton? (BTW, the gloves the Guardians drop are currently worth the least.) Logialian (talk) 08:35, September 10, 2013 (UTC)

No. Kill rates are fastest with Guardians. We are thinking about making guides for the others, but maybe not. MolMan 18:24, September 10, 2013 (UTC)

Hey guys! The new moneymaking guide is spectacular! It's really amazing. However, I strongly suggest we keep the skill-specific moneymaking guides. I find them to be really useful when I want to train a skill but prioritize making money over the experience, so I use them all the time. I hope you guys keep them!

Drinking Wine:[edit source]

  • A jug of Wine cost 60 at GE
  • A Jug cost 243

So drinking the wine gives you a profit of 183.

You can drink about 1 wine/sec, you also have to go to the bank every 28th second, if you use 3 secounds in the bank you can drink 3251 wines pr hour, which gives you a profit of 595'116/hour:

winesPrHour(wineTime, bankTime) = 60^2 / (wineTime + bankTime/28)

winesPrHour(1,3) = 60^2 / (1 + 3/28) = 3251.6

Jugs of wine are relatively easy to get your hands on. Jugs usually does not sell immediately, however, people often buy large quantites of them at a time.

Exiled Kalphites[edit source]

With 99 smithing, damaged chitin gives you 9k worth of chitin straps. Since you can kill a fair amount of exiled kalphites per hour, I think this method warrants looking into. I don't often kill exiled kalphites, so I'm not sure how many kills you can get per hour, but using a yack can make each trip worth at least 500k. Tomdiepstrap (talk) 23:33, September 29, 2013 (UTC)

So I've been looking into this method a bit more, and using a royal crossbow with royal bolts, extremes, and a yack WITHOUT winter storage scrolls, I can easily do 4 trips within an hour killing marauders and guardians. Assuming 58 chitin per trip (More like 50, but 8 spots get taken up by things like runes, which tend to outvalue chitin over the course of a trip), that's 232 chitin per hour. Also, at the Varrock West Bank anvil, a full inventory of chitin can be processed in 45 seconds.
Doing some quick calculations, and considering loss of time in processing chitin, you could easily make 2m an hour with this method. Tomdiepstrap (talk) 23:56, September 29, 2013 (UTC)
I added 84+ Smithing to recommended requirements, as that makes it 2m+/hr

Smoke Runes?[edit source]

Got to browsing around for rune prices lately, noticed that the prices on hybrid elemental runes are still high, especially Smoke. Looked at the ingredient prices, looked at the locations. I'm pretty sure it's an excellent money-making method, and they sold pretty well when I tried it. Let's look at the math.

Per run:

  • 1x Air Talisman (160ish gold at time of writing)
  • 26x Air Rune (450ish gold at time of writing)
  • 1 charge of a Binding Necklace (50ish gold per charge at time of writing)
  • 26x Pure Essence (910ish gold at time of writing)

That's a setup cost per run of about 1,570 gold. As for output, 26 smoke runes at ~550 each (market price at time of writing) comes out to about 14,300 gold, minus the 1,570 setup, which leaves a profit of 12,730 per run. The Runecrafting page says the Fire Altar is about a minute per run, so 12,730 * 60 is 763,800 profit per hour. My numbers might be off by a gold piece or three here and there, but the math stands.

I'd call three quarters of a million per hour at 19 Runecrafting a pretty good money-making method, and it's not like the ingredients are all that hard to get on the Grand Exchange. It's even decent experience -- I'm still getting a few levels doing runs of it in the mid-30s.

Thoughts?

Inconsistency in gp/hr profit[edit source]

There are inconsistencies between the profit per hour in the table on this article and the profit per hour listed on the individal method's page. There should be some sort of standardization in formalae to keep them the same. Voyaging (talk) 04:06, October 22, 2013 (UTC)

I too have noticed this. I think correcting this should be of relatively high priority. I would ask that anybody with the "know-how" to take a try at solving this issue. Just for a quick example (and this may have been fixed after the time of writing this) but if you look at the Cleaning Grimy Ranarr it is suggested that you can make over 600k per hour then on the actual page suggests about 300k. 71.230.252.103 01:51, October 23, 2013 (UTC)

Vials of Water[edit source]

As trivial as this may seem, I think something could be said about buying empty vials and filling them with water before reselling. Categorizing the Guides[edit source]

Previously, the old MMG was seperated into individual skills, combat, and merchanting. I think we should make the split the guides up into different sections based on whether it's primarly combat, skilling, collection or other (merchanting) if possible? The guide right now is not very easy to navigate for lower to mid level players as the top hourly profits are primarly high level combat methods. If we split the guides up into their respective, primary skills requirement, subsections, this would help players navigate and find select methods to train or make money.

Kiln Guide[edit source]

Would it be possible to have a money making guide for the fight kiln? When I do it I do 35 minute runs using full virtus, vwand/book etc. This would be a really good money maker and could make more than any of the other methods216.255.30.69 02:50, December 28, 2013 (UTC)

That would be pointless. Times vary on how much experience you get, and the only item is an onyx. — Jr Mime (talk) 04:14, December 28, 2013 (UTC)
Mime, it's still a significant money maker. Probably 4-5 million an hour. I want to do a guide on speed Fight Kilns but I don't have enough information on it. ʞooɔ 04:35, December 28, 2013 (UTC)
All information you need is that it takes 35 minutes and you get an onyx. For more precise costs you would want to consider the use of potions and food. But for an estimate the time and the onyx as price is good enough. I do the fight kiln in 55 minutes but I use subjugation/bandos with armadyl battlestaff/saradomin godsword + overload + unicorn and unicorn scrolls + water runes. So my profit is ruffly 3m/h. Haven't checked back through the archives of this talk page and didn't seem to notice it on the main list but they're should be something on here about spinning flax into bowstrings. I used to do this all the time, went back on yesterday for the first time in RS3 and still as effective.

Making headless arrows: Bettered[edit source]

A good way of making money is by making arrow shafts and headles arrows, right? right.but, you can cut logs, then make the logs into arrow shafts yourself, saving money. 1. you are going to be getting 25 woodcutting exp per log, 2. the 15 arrow shafts together are more valuable than the single log they came from, so you (if you have the extra patience) will save money, even when you buy logs instead of arrow shafts directly. as of now, if you cut a log, and make it into arrow shafts, then add feathers, a single feather is 26gp, the finished product is 60gp, so a profit of 34gp per arrow shaft, thats a profit of 500gp per log, and if you keep the arrow shafts in your inventory and chop trees, your getting 27 logs in an inventory, make those arrow shafts, add feathers, and you get a PROFIT of 13500gp per inventory, which will take a total of 5 minutes, from starting cutting, to finishing arrow shafts (add the feathers later, once your completly done with logs), so thats about 10-15 inventory's an hour, depending on your woodcutting level.(mine is 71 at the moment), so you will gain AN ADDITIONAL PROFIT OF: 135000 to 202500 per hour.so that brings you profit to 700,000 to 775,000gp per hour

The profitability of transmuting.[edit source]

I noticed on the Transmuting guide for Divination that a small chunk of profit comes out of this so I tried it for myself and ran some numbers and got a low estimate of 400K profit per hour doing this. Probably not as profitable as just harvesting the energies needed to do it but I figured this was worth mentioning.

Bank Presets[edit source]

I think a lot of these money making methods need to be updated to reflect the new bank presets. Any activity requiring constant banking is greatly sped up with presets. For instance, superheating rune bars has a method that produces 1200 bars per hour, but with presets you can easily superheat 2000 bars per hour. The profits shown on here for superheating and similar activities are misleadingly low.67.208.241.82 10:07, April 10, 2014 (UTC)

At current, the dust of Armadyl is selling on the GE for a minimum of 3248 each. Once you add the cost of a pure essence (14 each) this means that even at 99 runecrafting you would make a 2GP loss per dust used if selling for 326 per rune.  —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 80.6.141.64 (talk) on 14:20, April 22, 2014 (UTC).

Cutting Elder trees[edit source]

According to the Elder tree's article, cutting them yields a profit of ~561k at the moment. Neutralino (talk) 20:36, April 28, 2014 (UTC)

Mud runes[edit source]

Making Mud runes is a semi-good money making method for lower lvl runecrafters. Making them at water altar is recommended and also using the Binding neclace. Also if you have Lunar Diplomacy with 82 magic you can cast Magic Imbue for not having to use talismans. And this also enables the use of earth altar which is closer to bank(?) 85.76.47.145 09:07, May 4, 2014 (UTC)

Shouldn't the keystone drop frequency be 0.65 per hour with equal chances of dropping each of the six, instead of 0.65*6 as in the guide?

Could add in a guide for KBD money making. He's already a decent amount of profit, would be nice to have him and QBD in the same guide.71.206.67.233 23:01, May 14, 2014 (UTC)

Cleanup[edit source]

So, I was wondering why  there is a 50 Dungeoneering recemmendation for this guide. Thanks This was about Killing Graar 67.234.156.100 23:04, May 15, 2014 (UTC)

Fixed. The guide originally mentioned using a steel titan (and so a spirit cape), but I changed the suggested familiar to pack yak a while back to favor longer trips. MolMan 23:09, May 15, 2014 (UTC)

Draconic visage[edit source]

It's correct upto 3 decimal points, however this makes it look as if the item is worth 10's of millions. Is it possible to make it correct up to 0 decimal points? Vegancookies (talk) 13:51, May 18, 2014 (UTC)

Can someone add the smelting steel guide?

I'm pretty sure it's a pretty great way to get some gold

Rather than using the camelot teleport, it's quicker to use the catherby teleport.  —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 58.106.140.208 (talk) on 06:24, May 24, 2014 (UTC).
