Legiones portal[edit source]

The legiones portal goes to whichever legio you are currently carrying the most keys for. But what happens when you're carrying equal numbers of multiple keys? That's what I decided to work out while my sign of life cooldown ran out.

Some points, first:

  • Single type of key always goes to that door
  • No keys goes to Sextus
  • Equal amounts of all 6 goes to Sextus
  • Unequal amounts of multiple types always goes to the door which you have the most for
  • Order of keys in inventory doesn't matter
  • Only the keys in equal number count - if you carry 2 quintus, 2 sextus, 2 primus and 1 tertius, it will ignore the tertius outright and act as a primus/quintus/sextus check
  • Quantity is ignored - doesn't matter if you have 1 of each or 14 of each, as long as they're equal (I did all tests with 2 of each)
  • Noted keys are ignored

Now, data. For simplicity, keys and doors labelled with numbers.

A lot of guff, but looking at the larger numbers - particularly quads and quints - its clear that high numbers have priority. The ones that don't adhere to this all have one thing in common: they all contain keys 1 and 3. Thus my rules so far are:

  • If carrying keys 1 and 3 (primus and tertius), arrive at primus' door
  • Else arrive at the highest numbered door

There are 8 exceptions to this in the 64 options (57 if you exclude 0 and 1 key combinations):

  • 1/2/3/4/5/6 arrives at 6 despite having 1 and 3 (so should be 1) - could treat as special case since all 6 keys
  • 1/2 should be 2, is 1
  • 1/6 should be 6, is 1
  • 2/6 should be 6, is 2
  • 3/4 should be 4, is 3
  • 2/3/4 should be 4, is 3
  • 1/3/5/6 should be 1, is 6
  • 1/2/3/5/6 should be 1, is 6

Those exceptions are all hilighted in the table. There doesn't seem to be something consistently wrong so that's where I stopped (especially 2/3/4 - what's with that?).

I don't know why this isn't just a simple rule like "go to the highest numbered key you have in your inventory" Quest.png Gaz Lloyd 7:^]Events!99s 23:15, October 5, 2014 (UTC)

Bonfire[edit source]

"You save a log"... this bonfire sometimes saves logs.... I'm pretty sure tis the bonfire not some scroll I've forgotten... Rich Farmbrough, 00:20 8 October 2014 (UTC).
