Untitled[edit source]

my favorite summoning pet. i GAURUNTEE you it has a better chance of getting an herb if you are outside the bank! its been tested by myself, not jagex. but trust me its pretty obvious when 0% of everyone's macaw gets and herb in the bank. go outside and ur likelihood is higher than 50% each time you use herbcall. (herbcall can be used once every minute on average)-RS name -hot cuz

Its ok I guess but that whole minute between use of scrolls gets old really fast. You can get herbs fasster killing chaos druids, with combat xp to boot.-- 00:20, 15 May 2008 (UTC)

I use it while fishing in Shilo. It doesnt stop you from fishing if you try to use the special and 1 minute hasnt passed, so I just click it every now and then and it pays for itself several times over.teh_kevlar 08:54, 3 April 2009 (UTC)

Does herbcall only work outdoors?[edit source]

Remove view works only outdoors.

It seems that herbcall does not work indoors, too, and you won't get any herbs. Can anybody affirm or rebut it?

I used the special in Relleka Slayer Cave and it worked.teh_kevlar 12:34, 3 April 2009 (UTC)

Passive gathering?[edit source]

I don't do a huge amount of summoning (virtually all of my level 53 is from penguins and tears of guthix), but I do get a familiar out now and again.

I've used beavers before, and their passive gathering gets me about a dozen planks/logs per summoning. I've recently been using some macaws when I've been slaying aberrant spectres, and was very surprised to see the message "your familiar has produced an item" I've gone through 6 macaws and this was the first time I saw the message! So... they don't seem to be great passive gatherers - have I just been unlucky in my gathering, or is it normal for them not to do anything?

Incidently... I can notice the improved herb drops... but I also wonder, does the effect stack with ring of wealth?Armcie 09:56, 20 March 2009 (UTC)

Your experience with Macaws is the typical one. Its very rare for me to get even a single herb from 1 macaw pouch, and I've never gotten 2 herbs. The effect is so slow and rare I'm not sure why Jagex put it in at all. If you want a familiar with a good passive gathering ability, use Magpies or Fruit Bat. They're the best gatherers. --Psycho Robot 07:39, 11 April 2009 (UTC)

Storage[edit source]

"and collect and store herbs for you"

Herb Farming?

I have recently started using Macaws and have noticed i seem to get more herbs while farming when i have one out, is this a coincidence or have a discovered a new use? (i got an average of 22-30 avantoes before at 67 farming and now i notice i get 25-33)

Restriction on Herbs being unnoted?[edit source]

I was using a Macaw in the Canifis Slayer Tower. The idea was that it supposedly made more herbs drop, but also unnoted. I intended to combine this with the Herbicide to get decent Herblore xp whilst killing Aberrant Spectres.

No cigar.

If the herbcall doesn't work in the tower, maybe this passive ability is the same? Just passing along what I noticed, who knows if I am even doing it right!
