Can u use stews??[edit source]

In the article: "Note: Although a player can obtain the Inferno Adze by using orange spicy stews to light the beacons, they will not be able to wield it until they have a Firemaking level of 92 or more." Does this mean you can use it with stews when you have it in your inventory before you are 92 fm? ----Fbi agen22 07:39, 17 April 2009 (UTC)91.180.130.228 07:38, 17 April 2009 (UTC)

No. Stews or other temporary boosts do not allow you to wield an item (e.g. like you can't wield an abyssal whip with 67 attack if you use an attack potion). Even if you could, it would be extremely hard as stews are the only thing that boost firemaking in this way and randomly, and you can only own one at a time. Quest.png Gaz Lloyd 7:^]Events!99s 08:49, 17 April 2009 (UTC)
But I do not desire to wield the Adze. Just use it is enough. That's the difference between a Whip and an Adze: you can't fight without wielding the Whip, which requires Attack and Strength levels. You CAN cut trees without the required level to wield the axe (for instance a lvl 3 can use a D Axe although he cannot wield it) --Fbi agen22 09:01, 17 April 2009 (UTC)
I was the one who put that note on this article, and i got the adze at 90 firemaking, but using stews. However, i could not wield OR mine/woodcut with it until i got 92 firemaking. Thats just the way it is, 92 firemaking is the requirement to use it at all. Hope that helps =) It's Red ,-'-, Lakor ,-'-, All hail his evilness(Talk) (Contribs)
Oh ok thank you very much :D--Fbi agen22 09:43, 17 April 2009 (UTC)
Yeah, thanks. Quest.png Gaz Lloyd 7:^]Events!99s 09:47, 17 April 2009 (UTC)

Perhaps showing the different WC animation mentioned would be a good thing?

Alchemy prices[edit source]

Alchemy prices? I highly doubt they're accurate, considering this would be a stupidly quick way to make money.Planeshifted 18:43, 26 August 2008 (UTC)

These prices could also be right. To get the inferno adze back the player would have to relight all the beacons creating alot more work then the alch would be worth. Although I cannot say for shure.--Saradomin sword.png Mr.twee 20:22, 26 August 2008 (UTC)

That'd work out to be about 2 million coins an hour. I don't think so.Planeshifted 20:34, 26 August 2008 (UTC)

Use(ful) in abbys?[edit source]

User:Kivandien Has anyone used this in the abyss? Does it work for both tendrils and the stuff you can mine? Does the player's personal abyss cater to one or the other (normally it creates obstacles that match a player's equipment pretty often). Also, though this seems unlikely, can it be used to burn a boil?

Could be used in f2p as pickaxe[edit source]

I noted that the Inferno Adze can be used in f2p world as a rune pickaxe, but it can not be used as a wc axe. I'm not sure if that's a bug or not.

It could, in the far past, this has since been fixed. . . . Yours, This user admires the Void Knights. Who aim to maintain Gielinor's Equilibrium. Enquidou Talk This user likes to do Quests and genuinely loves the story line; lore is his love! . . 01:04, November 28, 2011 (UTC)

Rumors[edit source]

Rumors do not belong in articles. If there is sufficient proof, don't call it rumors.   az talk   05:59, 27 August 2008 (UTC)

Agreed. I'm deleting the section. Anyone who cares to confirm any such rumors can add that information after they know it's true.troacctid 08:14, 27 August 2008 (UTC)

Lame picture, could you get an animated picture of it? I just earned mine. You can use the Inferno Adze for mining through abyss obstacles, as well as chopping tendrils. However you cannot use it to burn down boils (makes sense because the Inferno Adze cannot be used as a tinderbox). It only burns logs as you're chopping a tree (about 20% chance of doing so). Dr Locust 15:36, 29 August 2008 (UTC)

Is that better? --Gold ore.png Mercifull UK serv.svg (Talk) 12:03, 30 August 2008 (UTC)

Some people said the inferno adze turns ore from mining to bars just like it would for woodcutting (except woodcuttiing burns ore for firemaking)...is this true. It would be sweet, if its true that'll encourage me to get one:D --Dragon chainbody.png Doomboy56 Saradomin sword.png 18:16, November 26, 2009 (UTC)

Thats not true, it is only a rune pickaxe for mining. Quest.png Gaz Lloyd 7:^]Events!99s 18:35, November 26, 2009 (UTC)

Close-up Picture?[edit source]

Could someone plz get a picture of the inferno adze up close when equipped?

idle curiosity guys, but when you burn a log, do you move back a square or anything?

and what happens when you're standing on a square with a fire on it? do the fires stack, do you move, do you drop the log, or do you just not burn it?

sorry for the lack of a new section for this, i don't have a clue about wikicode and don't want to delete the page or something. Spectre1235 17:25, February 4, 2010 (UTC)

When the adze burns a log it doesn't make a fire on the ground. You see a log that is on fire come off the tree and fly a few squares away before disappearing. This means your woodcutting isn't interrupted and you don't move when it procs. If it moved you everytime it proc'd it really wouldn't be worth using, as it'd be slower than straight up firemaking and it'd make woodcutting far more click and time-intensive.LV 1 Blue Slime 10:54, May 26, 2011 (UTC)

1 Attack?[edit source]

Where is this information from, you cant get in the Infernzo with 1 attack, you have to get 3000 Attack Exp from Death Plateau, which is a required for Troll Stronghold.

With the new burthrope update you can now do death plateau as a level 3 skiller pure. You will not gain any xp (combat). But this doesn't really matter since you have to meet other combat requirements. ~ Sulllly ~

Special Ability?[edit source]

Ok, so right before the Wilderness came out, Jagex said a bunch of things that would come. One thing they mentioned was the incresed benefit of an adze to make up for the risk. Has anyone figured out what it is yet, or if it was even implemented? I know you have to get another adze past the update for the effect, provided it exists. 67.167.194.25 23:39, February 13, 2011 (UTC)

First time doing anything on here, so I hope this works O_o
Anyway, I got my inferno adze after the wilderness became unsafe again (and even got PKed on my first attempt >_<) but the inferno adze doesn't seem to do anything besides burn logs occasionally. I didn't have it when the wilderness was safe, but it doesn't do anything that isn't listed in it's article, so unless it's a benefit that would be hard to isolate from random chance (like an increase in bird's nests) I think it's safe to say nothing has changed yet. Considering all the skills/quests you have to have/do on top of possibly getting PKed, I'd rather there be more to it.LV 1 Blue Slime 10:05, May 26, 2011 (UTC)
The special benefits were never implemented. sssSp7p.pngIjLCqFF.png 11:05, May 26, 2011 (UTC)

Stats[edit source]

IF you can use it as a weapon. What are the bonuses?

Err... The infobox on the page says exactly what the bonuses are... JOEYTJE50TALKpull my finger 16:05, March 21, 2011 (UTC)

Deletion.[edit source]

Any particular reason my edit was deleted?

How was the math wrong on that edit?

The point I was trying to communicate is that if 99 firemaking and woodcutting is desired, it's best to level firemaking to 92 for the adze, and keep woodcutting at the minimum needed to use the adze (61). The reason I bring this up is I started using the adze when my fm and wc levels were equal (both 92) and now firemaking is 93 and woodcutting is 95. This means I'll get 99 woodcutting a few million experience before 99 firemaking. If I had've kept woodcutting at 61 and acquired 92 firemaking for the adze, I'd stand a much better chance of not needing extra effort to get 99 firemaking after I had 99 woodcutting. Does that not make sense? LV 1 Blue Slime 14:33, May 27, 2011 (UTC)

Deleted the so-called "pronunciation" in parantheses. Unless someone has proof that that is how it is pronounced it needs to stay off. For all we know it could be pronounced add-zee or adds.

Obtain multiple?[edit source]

Can we obtain multiple adzes? I would prefer to have at least two, but is that even possible?? :P . . . Yours, This user admires the Void Knights. Who aim to maintain Gielinor's Equilibrium. Enquidou Talk This user likes to do Quests and genuinely loves the story line; lore is his love! . . 01:04, November 28, 2011 (UTC)

Adze is a real word btw. <.< But we should only keep pronunciations that are released by Jagex imo. sssSp7p.pngIjLCqFF.png 19:31, July 13, 2011 (UTC)

bonus xp[edit source]

if using full lumberjack + flame gloves and ring of fire, will u still get the full bonus from them if burning a log while choping a log/ getting a log from choping?

Crystal Hatchet[edit source]

If a player owns a Crystal Hatchet in toolbelt but is equipping or has this in inventory, can you still get the chance to incinerate?  Puretppc (talk) 01:25, January 11, 2015 (UTC)

To my knowledge, having an adze in your inventory will always get priority over using your toolbelt's hatchet; possibly pickaxe too. IP83.101.44.209 (talk) 04:47, January 11, 2015 (UTC)
I have the inferno adze in my inventory and crystal hatchet in toolbelt. When cutting elder logs, you can clearly see my character uses the crystal hatchet. I didn't get any firemaking experience. Upon equpping the Adze, my character could be seen cutting elder logs with the Adze and obtaining firemaking experience. Djpailo (talk) 12:03, August 9, 2015 (UTC)
