Talk:Hair of the Dog
Er... "hand of the dog that bit you"? .... I've seen two references that "Hair of the Dog" is a term that isn't from the game. One, I believe, was when I was channel surfing, came across Little House on the Prairie, and started watching it. so a guy gets drunk. next morning, has a hangover, pours some whiskey, and, in a conversation with a guest, says, "a little hair of the dog..." and drinks.
Also, in a book called How to Hold a Crocodile, under "How to Cure a Hangover," it references to hair of the dog. Obviously, it was probably originally a British phrase, later shortened, but it was not shortened by Jagex to fit with Canny's werewolf thing.. Gone. 03:05, 2 May 2009 (UTC)
- Yes, "Hair of the Dog" means curing a hangover by drinking more alcohol, in colloquial British. That's what the pub is referencing to. It's one of Jagex's many puns. Asparagoose 23:13, 31 August 2009 (UTC)
Bar examining[edit source]
Now as if you examined the bar shelves, you'd get message 'Never drink and drive. Of course, what could you possible drive?', wich be pretty amusing..
